Xiomara is my girl!!! I have been coming to Knotted Up for a little over a year. In the summer of 2021, I began experiencing a severe, chronic pain in my right hip jointed that was worsening by the day. I ended up in the Urgent Care twice because of the pain I was experiencing. It just so happened that during one of my Sports Medicine appointments with Kaiser, a nurse had recommended this massage therapy location and I decided to give them a shot. All of the therapists I have had the pleasure of being treated by are amazing but Xiomara does miracles. I highly recommend signing up for the email notifications because they seem to have monthly massage specials that I enjoy taking advantage of. Although Xiomara was one of the newer therapists at the location, I was really intrigued by her specialty in injury prevention and recovery. After completing physical therapy through Kaiser and working with Sean for a few therapy sessions, I came to find out that my hip pain was stemming from a severely tight psoas muscle in my lower back. Due to weak glutes and abdominal muscles, my lower back muscles particularly the psoas muscle has compensated for the other weaker muscles. The only lingering issue that I have still been navigating with has been a tight hip flexor and tight abductor/groin muscle in my right hip. Xiomara did miracles on me. She really focused on my psoas muscles during the session, providing extra relief through cupping. Additionally, she incorporated movement while cupping which added to her miracle magic. I had only mentioned the abductor/groin pain because of a conversation we were having and she eagerly offered to incorporate that into the massage, and I am thankful she did. She was able to open up my hip farther and wider than I have been able to in over a year; I almost wanted to cry in disbelief that my body was still capable of doing such movements. She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to rebuilding, recovering, and strengthening your body. We discussed extensively treatments and options that I could start doing to help myself even more. I honestly walked into the massage just looking to relax for an hour and a half and I walked away with more than I could ask for. I am so thankful that I took the chance with her because she helped me in more ways than one. I can't wait for my next appointment! My body, mind, and soul walked out of my session feeling better than I could have imagined. I did the 60 minute new client massage to rest it out and omg, it was amazing. Brandon is so knowledgeable and applies the right amount of pressure. He constantly asked if the pressure was okay, etc. Educated me on the best ways to destress and relax to help with my tension. I had an appointment with Carol on sept 15. First let me say I have had major pain from my neck down to my lower back on my right side. I couldn't move my neck or life my arm. I have never felt this in my life. I do work at a desk and have been for 15 years so I'm sure it's from that lol. I went to urgent care because it got so bad. They gave me trigger point injection which helped a little but 2 days later still couldn't move. I was desperate at this point. I made an appointment with knotted up and saw Carol. I had the great opportunity to get a massage in by Janaveive. I have chronic pain from my autoimmune disorders so I have random pain in different areas. She was able to stretch my spine in such a way that it relieved my lower back tension.
