I feel like everyone there is very judgmental! They don't listen to a darn thing you say. I hate when this place is my only choice!

I just had double incisional hernia repaired Friday at KCH. I had cancer removed at another hospital in 2014. They did nothing wrong that's just how my skin is. I came to Dr holzer who specializes in surgery and she said yes I can repair it. The entire ambulatory surgical team was amazing They even call you afterwards to make sure you are okay. Jane was my anesthesiologist She made me feel at ease pleasant bedside manner goes over everything with you I felt safe in her hands. Jauhni walked me back into the surgery waiting room and was fun to talk to. I'm sorry I don't remember the rest of the nurse's name that helped me before and after my surgery. Everyone was so pleasant and friendly and patient. I want to add they have a new neurologist my husband seen for the first time last week We are very pleased with him trying to figure out my husband's tinnitus! Dr Trevor Moravec. We have our PCP here, My son's PCP is here, I have had surgery by Dr helming in orthopedics, My husband sees Dr Goodman for his endocrinology Larry is awesome in that office as is Dr Anderson for my son. And then in ophthalmology is another doctor Holzer (the husband to the surgeon I just had on Friday) for all of our eye health. Their therapy rehab center is amazing too Dr Amy murnen, Dr Thurman are excellent providers. Dr Hetrick sees my entire family for our ENT needs. He's the one that noticed I had a stroke sometime in my past it showed up on one of my CT scans of my sinuses. I had no clue I had no lasting effects. read more

Keep in mind this is only about the Department of Specialty Care: Obstetrician-gynecologist. Even more specific to the care from Dr. Witham. She is the worst doctor I have ever had. I was pregnant and called concerning some bleeding I was having. She claimed it was normal when it was most definitely not!! Four days later I had my ultrasound appointment and was then told the bleeding I was having a miscarriage. She told me they were going to do lab work that day and once more in a couple days to check my hormone levels to be sure, and that after my second lab she would call me later that same day. We also asked what we were to expect with a miscarriage and all she told me was bleeding. I went in a couple of days later for my second lab and the doctors didn't have an order for any labs. They tried calling her to get the lab orders and she didn't answer so I went back to her office and had to get them from the very nice receptionist. I also spoke to them while I was there about transferring to a different doctor. I then got my labs before 10am and I never got a call that day regarding my results I had to call myself the next day. I am now in the ER because I don't know what is normal and what is not and it is an abnormal miscarriage and I've been bleeding for too long. I am not upset I miscarried, clearly by the bleeding there was nothing they could have done, however I'm upset by the lack of communication and knowledge of what was going on. read more

I visited Dr. Zysek, a cardiologist, for a first-tlme consultation. I (and my wife) was impressed with her thoroughness and understanding. She looked into my medical history as well as all of my medications before our appointment. As a result, we were able to have a meaningful interaction. It's the first time in a long time that a specialist has shown such individual concern. read more

Why in God's name is there no Orthopedic Doctor on call for the Emergency Room's needs. I entered the ER with sever knee swelling with a pain level way beyond 10. I had to call an ambulance to transport me from my home to the ER in that i could not make it to my car to have my wife drive me. the Ambo guys were great and delivered me to room #9. There in I was cared for as best as the staff with CT scan, Ultra Sound and Morphine. After waiting nearly 5 hours in level 7 pain with a diagnosis of Knee Infusion I was discharged with a knee brace and a script for Norco. My knee was the size of a Volley Ball. My complaint is, why wasn't there an on call Orthopedic Doctor or NP that could drain my knee. My pain would have been lessened to a level 3 at least. What would have happened if I had been in an accident and needed specialized help? In short, good ER personnel but poor help to relieve my pain. read more

We came in tonight. The wife had pain in her back circling around so we believed she had a kidney stone. We walked in around 11:45 and was checked in immediately to the ER. Most of the people have been pleasant with the exception of one lady that seemed to not want to be there. For the most part they have been pretty diligent. We left at 5am she slept fir the most part after finding a medication that helped with the pain. read more

The Pain Management doctors have NO respect for their patients. Waiting over two hours to see the Dr. is intolerable and insulting. This was not a one time occurrence. I am going to find someone in the Ohio Health system who has consideration for people in pain. read more

Was denied services because old bill was not paid in full. Wanted to make payment arrangements but they wanted $600.00 down. Please do not go to this hospital. Service is really bad. Hospital staff in financial was rude and very unkind. I even have insurance and this hospital is in network. I just do not understand a hospital not wanting to make payment arrangements with you unless you pay $600.00. I would think something is better than nothing. I have received care here before and the nursing staff has ignored my complaints of severe pain. Once my husband stepped in, things changed and I got the care needed. Go somewhere else for any medical care. read more

Er is crazy bad for such a small town. Have lived in cities with over 1/2 a million people and didn't wait as long! The daytime staff was sooooo much better than the night staff, they just ignore you. And I do mean ignore you. Completely. Now once you finally get admitted and on to a floor it's completely different. I was on the cardiac floor, twice, and the staff was AMAZING! Sucks that the ER is so bad it brings the whole hospital down. Needs some serious evaluating and something done about it. Food wasn't bad. Actually most of what I got was pretty good. And the ladies who bring it up were very nice. Doctors are great. All in all the nighttime ER sucks and casts a bad shadow over the whole Hospital. read more

KCH is a asset to this community. Their facilities are modern and clean. I have been seen in all parts of this hospital by most of the departments and I have had nothing but good service and medical care. I have been in the ER several times and always was treated with respect, and cared for in a competent and compassionate manner. I've been in several of the big hospitals in Columbus, and for me, I will take the slower paced care from hometown people any time. read more

KCH wouldn't be that bad of a place if they hired half competent people in their billing department! 1) My fiancé and I went to purchase a home in 2015,my credit was ran and 19 accounts came back in collections! 19! I called and they were sending bills to my moms address for whatever reason. These bills dated back almost years! I was barely 18 when half of these bills were charged so I KNEW I had applied for HCAP(before Obamacare) so after some painstaking phone tag and having to pull 5 years worth of pay stubs I was able to get everything taken care of. Turns out, someone never billed it to HCAP. 2) in 2014 I was pregnant and had phenomenal insurance however there were some issues and I applied for Medicaid because necessary ultrasounds weren't going to be covered in 2015 the Medicaid dropped when I changed employers I had about 5 bills that were almost put in collections AGAIN! I had to call the billing department atleast 4 times! I kept getting bills that said my visit was denied.Turns out they were billing the wrong insurance. 3)I had to call in 3 times to give my daughters insurance information because I once again told them repeatedly to bill that specific insurance.Now,I got a bill Friday that 2 bills are in collections,1 for me which I was told was covered and 1 for my daughter that looks like it was never billed to insurance.I am absolutely INFURIATED! 4) I received a bill for a PAP that was almost $300. I called them and asked why this was so high. The lady said it looked like it was coded wrong and that I needed to call my insurance to confirm that it should be coded as preventative care and let them know. That's what I did. Insurance said they would gladly pay it if KCH would resend the claim. Called KCH and the billing told me to call the doctors office where I went. Called them and they transferred me to their specific biller who told me that it was incurances issue, not thiers. I'm at my wits end! They will be receiving yet another unhappy call from me on Monday! * Aside from the billing,The care at KCH is great! The birthing center is amazing. Dr. Sullivan is amazing, and Dr.Murnen and Michelle Yarman are both amazing! read more

My adolescent child went there having extreme abdominal pain. From hitting her stomach while rafting on a camping trip with friends of the family. She called me crying in major pain. My older son was with her. So I told him to take her to the ER. Once they got there they called for consent and I was on my way, but I informed them I was hour 1/2 away and would be there as soon as we could. She has a birth defect, and a medical history of perforation of her kidneys previously. The Nephrologist who had seen her when was younger said if she hit her stomach again to go straight to the ER. The next time she hit her stomach could kill her and she could hemorrhage to death. The NP who cared for her was informed of this history of perforation. The NP discredited her complaints because she did not fall from a height is what she told my children. They did an urinalysis and said she need to drink more. Did not do anything for her pain, nor did they figure out what was causing her pain. When I arrived they was more concerned about my insurance information instead of updating us on my daughter. I was told where she was and we sat for over an hour. Until I went to the nurses station and asked to be updated on my daughter. The nurse at the station said she would find her nurse. We waited about 15 -20 more mins and then NP came into the room never introduced herself. Then proceeded to say since my daughter didn't fall from a height that she should be fine. I informed her that she had perforated her kidneys previously by just tripping when she was little. So she had perforated her kidneys from falling of no height. She said well there was no blood in the urine. So they did not feel that any imaging needed to be done. So they did not do anything for my daughter. SO NO PAIN MEDS, NO IMAGING TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OKAY. They let her lay in a room in pain for 3 hours. As someone who works in the medical profession if a patient complains of pain you are suppose to do something for the patient. Not just ignore it. I get that in an ER they see alot of drug seekers, but they had urine they could check it for drugs. They did not do labs to see if something else was going on with her. Yet when it comes to my bill for the ER visit I'm sure they are going to want to be paid for doing nothing. Would not recommend this hospital to anyone! read more

Absolutely terrible wait time. Went in for an incapacitating chest pain in my heart, which should be taken care of immediately. Waited 4 and a half hours for any tests, and added one hour for the results, then another for another unnecessary test that was unrelated to my visit. Further adding to the already ridiculous bill. read more

My daughter had surgery at 10:15am, we arrived at 10am. We sat in this hospital, waiting for them to take my daughter for her procedure for 7 hours! I understand an emergency and running behind but 7 hours is just ridiculous! Then when they finally did come to get my daughter they were all of a sudden in a HUGE hurry! Why were we treated this way KCH? Also the nurse on 2rd shift was just like " 7 hours you have been waiting, oh well not a big deal" no apology just a stupid attitude! This hospital has really gone downhill, BEWARE! read more

KCH has the worst customer support I have ever experienced with a medical facility. Care is OK but billing personnel are incompetent and lazy. I have tried to get someone to return calls for months . Will make it a point to never visit again. read more

P. Marsh Please, please never take a loved one to this hospital and especially the emergency room. They don't even qualify to be a first aid station and they could care less. Yes they bury their mistakes and I have proof of this statement. Complain all you want to but no one will ever bother to contact you or follow up on your complaint. This is absolutely the WORST HOSPITAL I have ever been to. We walked in with a 5 year old that had a concussion and was vomiting and in and out of consciousness. They told us to have a seat and they would call us. Already upset, we took our seats. I looked down at the floor, only to find that there had been someone in there bleeding, and the blood, along with various piles of dirt, mud and hair, were dried to the waiting room floor. THIS IS AGAINST OSHA REGULATIONS AND COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!!! What if that person had an airborne illness that was in their blood?? The receptionist was rude as hell, and was too busy talking to the other girls about some boy named Josh, and why they had seen him in certain places, blah blah blah. The screen in the Triage office that shows all of the people in the waiting room showed that the wait time was approximately 5 HOURS. Long story short, this place is nothing but a Band-Aid factory, and I wouldn't recommend them to my absolute worst enemy. DO NOT EVER GO HERE. read more

I was admitted to KCH for a heart attack, discharged without instructions as to when to return to work, Dr George can't see me for 45 days and of course can't make out the insurance paperwork until I'm seen in the office but it was ok for him to put a stint in my heart while in the hospital...so I will have to go to a walk in clinic to get cleared to go back to work...if Dr George doesn't see it necessary to have me out of work until June 19 as that is the day I get to go see him (45 days after release from the hospital) and I don't return to work earlier ...I get fired but then I can't return to work without being cleared to return to work by Dr George...hello dumb asses...what the heck are you thinking ...then was given meds in the hospital but they say go to your family doctor to get a prescription for them...hello again dumb asses I don't have a family doctor..oh but that is the game...get a family doctor in your network so it's another office call...another charge...quite a game you play...was better off to die on the side of the road to come to your hospital for treatment... read more
