This is not the contractor you want. Please read before hiring. Everything here is documented with receipts, emails, text messages, photos and security camera footage to provide truth to this review. Unprofessional doesn't begin to explain this.
We hired Kelly-Rose / KO Electric to help finish 2 rooms, and some exterior work. She was issued a check for the down payment to start work, as requested, which she of course cashed.
They showed up 45 minutes late day one to start work, and late every day after. The work started Monday, and was supposed to be finished by Friday. It's now Friday and they are still a minimum of 2 days from completion on the interior work, let alone never starting the exterior work. They worked about 3 hours each day on Wednesday and Thursday. It has been raining, so I understand the exterior, but the interior is not acceptable. Wednesday and Thursday they worked approximately 3 hours a day, which I have proof of on my camera system.
She will text you at inappropriate hours of the night, and apparently get you involved with her not paying her employees/contractors, warning you to call the police if her employees show up drunk at your home after midnight, as seen in screenshots (how fun!)
The material list (from Kelly-Rose) was constantly wrong requiring me to go to HD/Menards every day of the project for more forgotten materials, and now to return unneeded or excess materials. The job was not estimated accurately, plain and simple. We opted to buy materials as we had around 1/3 of it purchased previously, but would have never expected to have to do so many trips.
I was constantly lending my own tools to give a hand to the contractors we hired to do the work, which is just not normal, or professional. You would expect contractors to have everything they need to do the job.
She suggests that all of the poorly cut pine trim which meets tongue & groove wood paneling just needs a little plaster to fill the 1/2" to 3/4" overhanging edges (pictured). Clearly plaster is not wood, and large ramped up corners of plaster is not acceptable, nor would it ever match the look of wood paneling, let alone look acceptable.
Last but not least, she leaves a large contractor bag of all of the construction garbage in our driveway when she picked up her tools (pictured).
Do yourself a favor and check references before hiring someone like this. This was a circus. read more
