I start the grill.. These wood chips burn at a very high heat. I'm talking surface of the sun hot. The kid's streaks literally just needed a minute and a half on each side. The rib eye. Wow! One of the best steaks I've had in a very long time. Very little fat. They cut it to order (so I got two 1- inch cuts). Now grilling skill plays a part here so keep an eye on them. I get there today and the butcher said I never called so they don't have it. I show him the call record and he says "oh yes! But you already picked it up!" Obviously I didn't, since I just arrived. I then say, okay whatever, can you prepare the meat? He says no, they ran out and they only had chicken breast left. He tells me I should've called ahead WHICH I DID! So frustrating. Anyway, I told him to clean the meat very well and to cube it. He doesn't do either. There's a few pieces of fat but mostly lots of blood on the surface and under the surface of the meat. I asked him to clean it again after I saw how bloody it was but he said I would have to "pay more" since they usually don't do that. He said it was just blood from the other meat he'd been cutting..which is so unsanitary!! Even more reason to clean it!! Keep in mind this is only one pound. Then we checkout and he tells me they don't take card. At this point another gentleman walked in and saw how rude the butcher was being and told him to stop lying to me because he was just there yesterday and the machine worked. My card is not a tap, it's a chip I have to insert and the butcher was ANGRY I had to do that. He kept sighing and insulting me under his breath (saying how people make his job so much harder and don't know how to use technology). There is a bit of a funky smell... in the store... it made me question its cleanliness. the dude never wears gloves but over all the meat is always fresh and tender when cooked. They give so many bags for packaging. I still go there I won't go anywhere else for my halal meat. I really hope they do cleanings more often not just for sake of inspection but makes for a more pleasant shopping experience.

I have been craving a dry aged steak for awhile now. This is the kind of steak you can't get at your local supermarket or even your neighborhood butcher. So to the trusty web I turned and in Google I found a couple options. I narrowed my selection down to StrassBurger Steaks. Their website had the goods a Foodie Father like me was looking for. With a lineage of over 150 years in the Steak business how could this selection not be the right one? I turned to my trusted advisor in these matters (YELP,) and to my surprise StrassBurger had only 1 review with 1 star and to top it off, the reviewer lives in the same state and city. Now this reviewer, from what I could tell was on a similar mission as me. The negative part of their review had to do with the delivery of the goods (from the minimal critique offered) so I did what every loyal Yelp user would do, I backed out. But I couldn't get those images out of my head. Those steaks looked so good! I searched around my local area to satisfy my craving. Alas I only found what I would describe as mediocre offerings, it was then I decided I was going to give StrassBurger Steaks a shot. I placed my order for bone-in rib steaks and a tomahawk. I made sure I would be at home to receive the delivery, like junky waiting for a fix. 16 hours later my doorbell sang the sweet songs of a FedEX delivery. I tore into the package like a child on Christmas morning, eager to inspect the goods. To my surprise, or should I say my joy, the steaks were a cool 40.0 °F a mear 8.0 °F from freezing. I know because I used a digital meat thermometer to check, since the previous review stated the warmth of the goods, but in my case everything was perfect! So with the goods in hand, I was off to the next stage in my plan. How to cook these bad boys? I decided I would go the extra step and do some reading. For the meal I came up with: * Simply seasoned with sea salt and pepper * Sear the steaks on the BBQ to get a nice crisp crust to seal in the juices * Finish them off in the oven in an old cast iron pan * Add sides Hasselback potato and garlic butter sauteed Porcini mushrooms * Homemade Bearnaise sauce I am starting to salivate while I write this as the memories of endorphins being released come flooding back. To get to the point, these were in fact the best steaks I HAVE EVER MADE. I like to think it's the attention to the details, but I can't take all the credit. Each bite of steak literally melts in my mouth. When you have such a solid base to start with, you really can't go wrong. I can without a doubt recommend ordering steaks from StrassBurger and have recommended these fine purveyors of bovine bliss to my friends and family. Like with all things in life I am glad I went this my gut instinct here and placed this order. Had I just gone with the single bad review, I would have missed out on one of the best steak dinners I have ever had. I have probably tried all their meats here and they are all so fresh and tasty!! Try their Chadolbaegi (Thinly sliced briskets) with their special sauce it is AMAZING!!! Their samgyupsal (Pork Belly) and Marinated Galbi (Beef Short Ribs) is highly recommended. If you are in the mood for some steak ask the owner for the Prime Steak it literally melts in your mouth!!!!
