I also don't have insurance, but it didn't cost too much! He even offered to set me up with an oral surgeon to get the tooth out, but since we were leaving the next day, I refused due to an appointment I've made in my hometown. My advice, avoid Aspen at all costs!…read more Firstly Aspen seems to push the sales of the clear aligners and electric toothbrushes to all new patients. Feels a bit scammy, but maybe most people need it. I signed up for the clear aligners. I was diligent about wearing the aligners, however at the end of the period my teeth weren't at target. They set me up with another set of aligners (for free) and I continued several more months. My teeth were mostly aligned but my bite was worse off (I now had to chew on one side of my mouth). They were considering a third aligner treatment... During this time frame they had lost track of a minor cavity (you don't go in for cleanings when you're in the aligner program) and after a year plus, my cavity had progressed to the point that the tooth had to be extracted. To be fair, I had forgotten about the mention of the cavity as well with all the time in the aligners. The next issue is with their billing. They don't seem to be able to email or postal mail me bills. It is always a "surprise you owe us money if you want us to see you today" when you show up for an appointment. You have to request the itemized statement and they are usually as confused by the statement as I am. My aligner was supposed to be covered by half or more by my insurance but Aspen was unable to submit the claim to the insurance company correctly. I ended up paying most of it out of my pocket (close to $5k). I stopped going to them after they refused to fix their issue reporting the claim to my insurance for the remaining $600 balance. Since Aspen is incapable of sending me a bill, some work they did 11 months ago that was apparently not approved by my insurance is now turned over to collections. I had no idea of this bill. Aspen never notified me once about this bill. They have my address, phone number, and email on file. The staff is generally very friendly. The turnover seemed a little high. I had 3 dentists and 3 hygienists during the 2 years I was a customer. The bottom line is that they seem to be incapable of producing clear billing statements in a timely manner and are unable to file insurance claims properly. Be sure to get the exact amount you are responsible for in writing, keep careful track of what you are paying for and what they are billing you for, and get them to write down everything that is covered or not covered by your insurance.

So, I called before the appointment to ask what the cost would be if my husband needed a filling. I was told $50. The cleaning, exam and filling were covered under United Healthcare dental policy, but the filling was not. We asked the doctor before the filling was done, just put in a temporary one. After our payment of $56 on the day of the filling procedure, I thought we were paid up. Then, I got a bill for $106. When I called the practice and reminded them that we were told $50, she said It was just an estimate. From an estimate of $50 to $162 does not sound like an estimate to me. I paid it and cancelled all of our future appointments. This is a warning to anyone going to this dentist.

She was thorough and very gentle and the process was over easily. I would highly recommend this practice - everyone I came into contact with was professional and very caring. I called and 30 mins later I was in their office. Lizzy came and called me back and her energy was so bright! I was in so much pain and I could tell that she really cared. The visit to the dentist is NEVER a good time, so I was so thankful for her kind and light energy. After xrays, Dr.Page came and told me the cavity news. He saw how much pain I was in a numbed me right away so I could get relief. Then he kindly walked me through my options. We decided to pull the tooth. Last night, Missy's crown came out, and she left a voicemail for him at 10PM. The recording said he was not open on Fridays (my crown came out on a Friday, too), but she explained in the VM that she was leaving Sunday for a funeral in IL. He called her back and said he'd see her at 11AM today. Wow! That's impressive. Being an established patient is a benefit! We're here at Dr. Radar's office now, waiting for her. She said it wouldn't be long because it was a temporary, and she'll get the permanent crown after she returns from IL. He's THAT good!
