This is not your run of the mill gym claiming to teach you MMA these guys actually go step for step and get you ready to fight or ready to WIN in Jiu Jitsu tournaments. They offer many different classes and have a very reasonable pricing plan. Check it out, these guys are one of the best lifetimes martial arts gyms around and you wont have to worry about paying thousands of dollars a year to get top notch training. Also the main coach is a current fighter who continuously fights on Showtime and television. When he fought locally on Showtime for M-1 global he finished the guy in under a minute and he was widely considered the underdog in the fight against the man who was set up for a title shot with a solid win, too bad he lost! stop by and check them out, the doors are open for newcomers and it is the perfect place to start making a healthier and cooler life for all.

What I've really loved is the appropriate level of discipline and self control they are asserting on the kids. I love the 'yes sir, no sir', and they know my kid well enough now to know when she's faking a potty break and when it's really an issue. They never let the kiddos accept anything other than their best shot. They do especially well with new kids and usually assign one teacher to a new kid -- there can be a lot of tears as for some little guys, this is their first activity out of the safety of their home. It does seem pricey to me at $130/month (the pricing can be lower if you lock into a time commitment -- we go month to month) but you can attend as many classes as you would like at this price. So you can really make it worth your money. And if karate is something your child wants to commit to, it's a total bargain.

I have a membership at a corporate gym in the Phoenix area, which I do love. However, it lacks some…read moreequipment I prefer and gets too busy. I was recommended by a friend to try Fitness 1 due to the quality of equipment as well as the old school atmosphere. The communication with Chad prior to visiting was great. He welcomed me when I came in and showed me around the gym, explaining how it was laid out and where I can find certain pieces of equipment. This included equipment like the pendulum squat, which can't be found in most commercial gyms. He also showed me where much of the power lifting equipment was and even discussed the childcare. I spent the next 90 minutes using amazing equipment such as Rogue, Precor, and my personal favorite, Arsenal. The culture in the gym was great. Everyone was working towards their own personal goals, all while supporting and assisting each other. They were even being spotters for others in the gym who they did not know, but supported nevertheless. Other gymgoers were not playing on their phones or hanging out in the gym, showing they were all there for a reason. After a good 90 minute workout, I went back and spoke to Chad. I told him I wanted to get a membership, paying for an entire year up front. Chad was able to do all this without pressuring me at all, which seems to be uncommon in the gym world. He lets the gym and the culture the staff at Fitness 1 has created, along with others in the gym, sell the product. All of this came with no hidden fees, which is just icing on the cake. Fitness 1 is a hidden "gym" in the fitness industry. It is an example of what all gyms should be and should be mirrored.
