I paid in full to have flooring installed. Big mistake. I was to be contacted the day before the install was to occur. I wasn't. I called and was told it would be the following day and Jim would be there by 9:00 AM. He wasn't. I called and was told he was picking up the flooring in Strongsville (he had my money for 3 weeks-why didn't he have the flooring???) He showed up at 1:45 PM, removed the carpet and left at 3:30 PM. He said he wasn't coming back the next day and didn't know when he would return (it was a holiday weekend). At this point I had contacted my credit card company and cancelled the charge. He had placed the flooring in my now barren living room/dining room/kitchen and threated to have me arrested for theft. He was told he could come get it. He didn't want to. My landlord returned the flooring, accompanied by 3 Madison police officers. One of the officers took pictures which shows 2 police officers standing inside Koellisch Carpet with the merchandise inside and his receptionist, Pat, standing along side of the flooring. At this point, there were now 2 police reports affirming the actions which occurred. Not to be outdone, little Jimmy contacted my credit card company and told them the merchandise was never returned. To the hoards of unsatisfied customers that little Jimmy has screwed over, we fight back and spread the word about this POS. WE WON OUR CASE AGAINST THEM!! DO NOT BUY CARPET FROM KOELLISCH CARPET in Madison. Too long of a story but it was the Worst experience we've ever had with a business. Owner would not give our money back even though we Cancelled. Seems to be a highly volatile person. We simply cannot understand how he is still in business, nobody we've talked to can understand it. read more

Jim Michalsky gave me a good deal on some pretty nice carpet. After being jerked around for a month by all of the other places that sell flooring, Jim actually treated me with respect. Between my wife trying to decide what shade of grey that she wanted, and guys trying to sell us crap carpet at premium prices, I was at my wit's end! We walked into Koellish's, and I finally had enough of my wife collecting samples of grey carpeting, and I finally put my foot down and pushed her to make a decision (we had enough samples to carpet our room with, already). She didn't make a decision but rather stormed out. I followed her out, she said her piece and I said mine, and she decided that she liked the shade that Home Depot had. After being stroked by Home Depot, getting verbally assaulted by one of their department managers (who promptly, was fired), I called my wife and said I was going back to Koellish's. I walked in and Jim wasn't there but I was told that he would be back soon so I waited. He obviously thought about my previous visit and as soon as he walked in, he gave me a great price, I paid immediately and scheduled the install. Jim was late because he got hung up on an install that took longer than expected, but he and his helper got right to work, and they installed our carpet. It looks great and the install is top notch, and Jim earned my business for life. I am even sending my mother in law out to him on Sunday. For those who want to whine and bitch about Jim, he not only sells the carpet but he also installs it, and he does it SEVEN DAYS A WEEK! While the whiners sit at their computers, tapping on their keyboards, sipping a cold beverage on one of their weekend days off, complaining about how Jim did this, or did that, Jim is out there busting his butt to try to make everybody happy, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK! (No days off)! So if he rubbed you the wrong way, go to your safe space, hug a teddy bear and cry yourselves to sleep, but don't come whining to me! No showed on my appointments twice and never even let me know. Complete waste of time. Take your money elsewhere

Awful missed the first 4 scheduled appointments kept rescheduling. Went into our pantry and ate our food the owner and his helper. The owner would use the F word when speaking to his helper. Spent 7,000 for flooring that was never installed properly. In less than 3 months the floors started bowing up several inches in several spots. Had to replace it all in less than a year and was redone with better flooring and installed for half the price. The new installer was appalled at the way this floor was glued down and and done so poorly. Would never use them again. read more

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. NEVER EVER GO HERE. They brought us wrong flooring, cancelled and rescheduled many, many times, ran out of flooring, had many no-shows, etc. Place is despicable. read more

Ordered carpet and scheduled an install on a Saturday. Offered helping carrying it because every business is struggling with workers. We were told between 9-10 am they would be there. I woke up and moved all the furniture out and pulled the old carpet up. At 10:25 I started calling to see if they were coming. After 6 calls I finally got a hold of someone and was told he was trying to find someone to help. I reminded them I was here to help carry the carpet and was told they would call me back. 3 1/2 hours later I called back because I didn't get a return call. They offered Tuesday to come back and I told them I worked. The next morning I went back to reschedule and we all agreed to Thursday morning 9-10 am and that they wouldn't need help. My wife stayed home all day waiting for them to show. I called at 10:34 and was told he didn't have help again. After all day of trying to get him here again I stopped in after work to talk in person. I was told he could either come first thing in the morning or 8pm. I said 8 pm and I'll be here so he doesn't need a helper. They called him and he said he couldn't do it at 8 pm he was on a job and was rude about it. So I told them to just give my money back because this was the 3rd time being told I would be first thing in the morning and I refused to move my furniture a 3rd time for him not to show up. They refunded the money I put down but I could hear him being rude on the phone about it like I put him out. Not once was I called and told the couldn't make it and I wasn't doing it again. I bought carpet from Jim about 1 year ago- still looks great and he was more than willing to help with a few fixes to the other carpet in the house. Installed on time. I actually needed a remnant and he gave me a good price as a return customer. The store is clean- every price range of carpet is available. I waited almost a year to review so I could really give an honest one. Will go back to do the last few rooms when the time comes read more

We were going to use this company, but, they seem disinterested in my business or returning my calls. I asked them if they are planning on coming out to measure our family room, and the gal says, oh I guess so if I want. She asked me when I had off and I said I had off today which is Wed. and on Saturday. She said as soon as Jimmy comes in, she will call me right back and maybe Jimmy can come out and measure that day, but she will definately call me back that day. She never called me back. Saturday came and we made the decision to go somewhere else. Saturday afternoon Jimmy calls to tell me he was coming out to measure. We told him we went somewhere else. He got mad at us. My husband hung up on him. Jimmy called back and left a nasty message on our answering machine to never step foot in his store again. Believe me, I never would want to and I would recommend to anyone not to go there if you want to deal with him either. read more
