It's a car dealership, it's going to be kind of a crappy experience no matter what you do. Having said that, it was a breath of fresh air to shop here after a bad experience at another dealership. I came in with a TrueCar price on a used car with nearly no miles on it. They honored the price (which, I'll admit was the sale price on the car at the dealership) and the taxes and fees added were actually LOWER than the estimated fees TrueCar gave me. We shook hands, called our car insurance, ran over to the bank, and came back ready to drive off that day. Once we came back, we were brought to the main building without much explanation to wait for, it turned out, the guy who does the financial and legal part and closes the deal. We were told "5 to 10 minutes" but it ended up being over 30, and nobody was able to tell us who or what we were waiting for until the guy was finally available. All things considered a minor bump in an otherwise overall positive experience. We came home that day with the exact car we saw online for the "excellent price" we saw on TrueCar. read more

I recently visited their service department for an oil change and a battery replacement. During the initial conversation with the service advisor, I clearly informed her that my vehicle was covered under both the Security Plus Service Plan and the Service Plus Warranty Plan. I explained that the car needed an oil change and a new battery. Later that day, the service advisor called me with a quote of $278 for the battery and $230 for the installation, totaling $508. She also quoted $98 for the oil change, despite my service plan coverage. When I questioned the unusually high installation cost, she simply stated that it was "the rate." I also reminded her that the oil change should be covered under my plan. What made this even more concerning is that I was also told there would be a $250 diagnostic charge just to confirm the battery issue. Charging $250 to diagnose a simple battery problem is unreasonable, especially when battery testing is a routine, quick procedure at any dealership and often done at no cost. After this call, I contacted two other Nissan dealerships in the area for comparison. * Nissan of Bayside quoted $406 for the battery and installation. * Nissan of Garden City quoted $370 for the same service. Both were significantly lower than the $508 I was quoted. I then called your dealership again--this time speaking with the parts department instead of the service advisor. They quoted $278 for the battery and $115 for installation, totaling $428 with taxes and fees. This confirmed that the original installation charge I was given was incorrect. When I returned to the dealership to pick up my car, the service advisor was not at her desk, so I spoke with another service advisor. I explained the discrepancy and the quotes I received from other dealerships. He reviewed the information and corrected the charges accordingly. When the service advisor who advised me initially returned, she told me the paperwork was ready. The second advisor explained the issue to her, and she responded by offering a "discount." I clarified that I did not want a discount--I simply wanted the correct charges applied. She updated the paperwork, but at no point did she acknowledge or apologize for the nearly $100 overcharge for a basic battery check. A less informed customer might have paid the incorrect amount without realizing it. Battery replacements and battery diagnostics are routine services at any dealership, so it is concerning that such basic items were quoted incorrectly. This experience left me questioning whether the issue was a lack of knowledge or an attempt to upsell, neither of which is acceptable. I have leased and purchased vehicles from this dealership and have used your service department in the past, but experiences like this make it difficult to continue doing so. Do not do business with these people. They will do a bait and switch or completely pull out last minute and screw you over. The salesman here are liars. They offered me a deal and tried to do a bait and switch with a different car assuming I wouldn't read the finer details (the color of the car). I told them I only wanted the deal with the first car we agreed on. They agreed but told me the paperwork for the car didn't arrive yet. I waited a few days and they told me the paperwork arrived but the car got into a crash. I do not believe this at all. They are completely untrustworthy. They told me to extend my lease and wait until next month. But they will not give me the same deal because it will be more expensive. I could tell this was their plan all along. If only I can give this place a zero star. I have been getting scammed by their service department for quite some time now. I have written many emails to their management team but all they say is to call them and they will put you in VIP list for next appointment. Like why is there such segregation, everyone is paying for their services and should be treated equally. Also be very careful of their service department advisors, they get commissions on your total bill amount so they will recommended services you don't need and barely get your issues resolved you come in for not do they call to follow up on the service. I had the worst experience with their service dept a few weeks ago. My 2017 Nissan Altima with only 60k miles, was making a squeaky noise when I hit breaks. I made an appointment and took the car there. The service advisor suggested they will have to do a break clean up with will cost around $400-$500. I said ok do it. I drop the car off at 8:30am and never heard back from them until called around 1pm to get the status on the car. The service advisor had no clue and said she will call me back. She calls back and tells me I need xy&z. I said I just need the breaks serviced which we discussed but it's ok go ahead and change the engine and cabinet filter as well. She goes we need to do multipoint inspection and that take 24-36 hours so the car won't be ready today. I said I don't want this inspection so just do what we discussed, she goes it done already and I said but I told you I do not want this service as I need the car. Long story short, she was going to charge me $300 for the inspection but waved the fee and I never got the report anyways even as a curiosity. I pick up the car the car is still making the same squeaky noise. No difference at all and I lost $600. The service advisor never called me to follow up and check and see if the issue still exists but this is it for me with this place. I do not recommend this place to anyone even my in-laws. Recently took my vehicle in May 2024 to have the engine serviced and someone there is responsible for damaging the finisher to my driver side chair. They tried to say I brought my car to them in that condition and wouldn't take accountability for the damages. Used screws and drilled holes into my chair, attempting to cover up what they damaged and left the finisher on the seat in a complete shamble. I am really disappointed in the treatment I have received from them and hope whoever damaged the side of my driver finisher eventually get caught. Service Dept: Needed a routine inspection on my newly purchased used car for the registration and the engine light had recently come on. I was told that I had to replace the transmission. Shelled out the money for a complete replacement because they claimed they would not pass the car for inspection without it. Koeppel took my money and told me the car was in top notch shape. 24 hours later and 70 miles into my first trip post-service, my car broke down on the side of the road and would not restart. Had to have it towed and inspected by another Nissan dealership upstate. ENGINE AIR FILTER WAS INSTALLED BACKWARDS. Koeppel claims they didn't touch it. I chased it down with them over the phone and they tell me the order was cancelled because they do not ship out of state. While I don't have a problem with a business having this policy. It would have been nice if their website didn't complete the order. Would have been even better if they contacted me to tell me that the order was cancelled. Bought a 2019 car from them. The next day i noticed a fly in my car. Thought nothing of it. Until the next day I noticed four flies in the morning. I pulled my car apart and found they sold me a car with maggots. The manager tried to tell me the car was detailed before i bought it. Obviously not if there are maggots under the tire in the trunk. Took it back to them within the week for them to do the right thing and detail my car properly. They literally only cleaned out the part I pointed out and not even well. Zero stars if it was possible. My car Malfunction on me twice in the past 2 weeks. They provide no towing. Had to jump start the 1st time and take it to service. Claim to resolve all the issues, this past Friday car malfunctions again and can't start up. I called Saturday explain the situation. Again no tow to help get the car to the location and not only that, you need an appointment which would've been Wednesday Dec 6th. How can I get to them if the car doesn't start? I had a recall done here for the hood latch of my car and an over priced battery replacement, went home confidently believing that my car was fine until it wasn't. My car stopped in the middle of the street out of nowhere with a battery sign on the dashboard and ironically enough when I tried opening my hood, it was LOCKED. There was no way to open it at the moment so I persistently called them to try and schedule an emergency appointment asap. To my surprise they said they were completely booked and I had to wait for an opening for the following week. I get my car serviced there and don't mind paying their prices thinking that they're legitimately professional and trustworthy. They brushed me off saying they couldn't do anything about it. Update #2: Got an appointment with the Nissan Dealership in Flushing with no issues. Not only did they solve the problem, but they did it in under 90 minutes from start to finish. Didn't jerk my chain, didn't charge me a fortune and didn't tell me I'd need to leave the car or treat me like I had no idea how my car worked. They did what I asked and the problem was done. If Koeppel had been half as competent, this issue would have been cleared up weeks ago and a lot of agita would have been avoided. Do yourself a favor, find another dealership. No need to deal with this one - there are better ones out there. Update: I was contacted by John K, Loyalty Manager for Koeppel Nissan, soon after writing my review. I was initially impressed with the response and looked forward to having my mind changed. That wasn't to be the case. I got on the phone with John and we discussed the issues and he told me that he'd look into it and get back to me one way or another with some sort of resolution. Although I was fed a litany of platitudes about being a loyal customer, the result was just as bad as my first encounter - John K took my information, emailed to say he'd have an answer for me the following day and then just Ghosted, never to be heard from again. I've sent multiple emails and left several voicemails with no response, not even a courtesy - "we can't do anything for you". Bottom Line, just because the Loyalty Manager responds to a review and claims they'll do what they can to help, the reality is that it's all for show, lipstick on a pig. Loyalty Manager or not, Koeppel Nissan and Nissan in general has no respect or loyalty to it's customers. And I'm starting to think now how I felt pressured to just agree with a model car because they did not have the car I wanted in black. The sales person was trying to explain all the features I will not have with the car I purchased and the manager just interrupts and says "what he's explaining its features you wont care about" and now I'm realizing that the sales person was trying to actually help me while the manager was just putting pressure on me to say yes to the car. The representative women Kelly put wrong info on rental car by full tank gas and 727 mileage for me to sign the paper when picked the rental car. I only drove to flushing and queens college then back to nissan return the car next day. Round way total 20 miles at most. But when returned the car, it's shown 789 miles and 3/4 tank left. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO USE 1/4 TANK FOR 20 MILES! I questioned about the gas using. Kelly just said, " if you don't fill it up, I'll charge it to your credit card. I have your credit card information." Three months after I purchased my 2021 Nissan Altima SL, I learned today 02/23/21 that my "All wheel drive vehicle"(AWD) was instead only "Front wheel drive." During November of 2020, I traded in my 2015 SR Altima for a newer model. During the buying process, I repeatedly mentioned that the car I sought as a replacement needed to have the emergency stop assist feature alongside AWD. Imagine my surprise when I learned this was not the case after bringing my car in for its first maintenance check. When I asked the a manager if my vehicle was AWD, he replied "No" and quickly referred me to the floor sales manager. I was then told to see the General Sales Manager (Mr. Clem) who strongly defended the sales conversations I had with salesman N. Jackson as not being deceitful. The manager also played recordings of numerous conversations I had with Mr. Jackson however none of the ones which contained the words "All wheel drive were available to be played. My wife, family, best friend and numerous close colleagues can attest that I always maintained that AWD was a required option in the purchasing of my new vehicle. I could honestly say that I must've asked if this feature was available in the 2021 SL Altima I was purchasing, more than a dozen times and each time, Mr. Jackson's response was "Yes." He never even mentioned that the 2021 SL model that I inquired about before purchasing my vehicle, came without AWD. My 2015 Altima was in great condition (notwithstanding a small dent) on its front driver side fender. The mileage was low and it had 270 horsepower. It was also front wheel drive. Why would I give up all that power, with the 2021 vehicle only having approximately 180 horsepower, for another front wheel drive vehicle? When confronted, Mr. Jackson stated, with a straight face, that I never indicated any interest in an AWD vehicle and that subject was never discussed between us. I just had to stare at him with astonishment, disbelief and shake my head. He could not ever look me in the face when he said those words. I chose not to argue with him. If work ethics and honesty are not necessary requirements for him to do his job, I pity any future perspective car buyers that have to negotiate with him. General Sales Manager Clem did not help resolve the issue by offering to extend my loan from a five year to a six year term with the monthly payments remaining the same. What's an extra $5400 right? I politely declined. I spoke to Business Manager John K. who told me he didn't believe me. Again, I didn't argue, I simply thanked him for returning my call. I just didn't want anyone to say I posted a negative review without speaking to upper management. I've been a faithful Koppell Nissan of Queens customer since purchasing my old 2015 from them the same year. Today they lost me as a customer. Never again will I deal with anyone at that dealership nor spend any of my hard earned money on service, maintenance or parts in that place. Wow! What a place! At first we went to Bay Ridge Nissan and we were appalled by the terrible service. Mom was admiring the Nissan Rogue for 20 min and no one approached her, sucks for them. We didn't have our suits and bling on but that should be no reason to ignore customers. Friend says go to Koeppel Nissan and so we went. 2 minuntes later, a friendly salesperson by the name of Nash approached us and took us out for a test drive. Mom loved it. Of course there were some negotiations which are always tough on both sides but in the end, we came out happy. Literally signed that day and picked up the car 3 days later. I took my 2011 xterra to get an oil change as well and get the ignition checked. My car did not want to start (sometimes). I was charged 180.00 for a "Diagnostic " that was never done. I kept walking in and out from the waiting area to the shop area. I watched my car get raised and the oil change done. I watched the car get lowered, I then observed the tech turn my car on with the key 3 times and then he used the remote start 3 times. He then climbed back into my car and drove it back. No issues. My car didn't want to start the next day. I didn't have a check engine light, but I decided to use my own diagnostic machine. It gave me a " 2 codes P1550" and "C1163". I looked at my battery terminal and saw that my + terminal was very loose and almost off. I tightened it and no issues. I spoke to a Mr. Knoesel about this. He falsely claimed that a diagnostic was had been done, that he spoke to the tech. Had one been done they would have pulled any one of the 3 codes I pulled which lead to the battery wire loose; the problem. TOTAL RIP OFF !! Second bad service read more
