I'm a simple guy. I don't need fancy spas, steam rooms, sauna's, scented oils, and such. Just give me a firm deep tissue or shiatsu massage, and when I ask for it harder, for the masseuse to be able to accommodate my request. I was delightfully surprised as I got exactly what I wanted, at a very good price.. Now, if you do want some sort of oil, they have that, my girlfriend did that with her deep tissue massage and liked it very much. I will for sure go back there. read more

I'm from Texas but was in California for the LA Marathon this year. Not knowing any massage therapists in the area, I did some research and took my chances with Kohei. He came to the place I was staying, was incredibly professional and thorough, and gave me - hands down - the best massage I've ever had. And I'm not just saying that because I was hurting from the marathon! I get professional massages about once a month and NOBODY has been as helpful (in knowledge and application) as Kohei. Kohei has worked on my body numerous times. He has been the best massage therapist I have ever been to. I must also disclose that I have been to a lot of massage therapist. He is truly gifted. I'm sure he can do a great relaxing massage, but I KNOW he knows injuries and can work on painful areas. He is amazing at therapeutic work. I never had a massage like Kohei did before. I was kinda scared to get massage from other people, but one of my friends knows Kohei and she recommended me to get massage from him. So I decided to get massage from Kohei, I knew I had a best massage from him after the massage session. I had many knots in my both shoulders and a headache on my right side for a long time, but I do not feel any discomfort and pain in my both shoulders and head anymore. I just had a massage with Kohei and have to say it was the best massage I've ever had!! He is a talented massage therapist, listened all my concerns before the session, and even taught me some stretches for my back and neck. Wellness clinic is the one I can recommend. the atmosphere they have is kinda nice, exotic. The skill of the therapists are also good. i feel like no having stiff on my shoulders. this clinic might relieve this kinda pains. the better is the access from 5 freeway. I was lucky enough to meet Kohei when I decided to go to physical therapy in Long Beach. When he left the physical therapy place I was so sad because he was the best at massages. He didn't cut corners or try to finish the massage too quick. Kohei left me his information so that we would no lose touch. I had pain in my shoulders and right wrist and forearm from long hours in front a computer at work. In order to counteract the pain I do the following: yoga and massage therapy. I have been to several massage therapists--most of them at chiropractic offices or as a part of physical therapy. I went to Kohei once weekly for ~ 5 months. Here is why Kohei is the best I have been to: 1. He has extensive physical therapy training. This means that he has a good understanding of what muscle groups/tendons are being affected. I think this really helps when you're trying to figure out why you are hurting. As another reviewer states--he incorporates manuall manipulation into the massage and it really helps!! 2. He just has a good intuitive sense of how to relieve pain. I have been to a lot of massage therapists who just knead you for an hour but don't really hone in on problem areas. Sometimes I even have to take a pen and mark out these knots/painful areas on my body for some therapists--but not with Kohei. He can locate the source of the pain and find other areas that you didn't even know were in pain. 3. Kohei honestly loves what he does and it shows. He truly listens to you and wants to help you feel better. Prior to each session, he would do a 1-2 min reassessment to see how I was doing. At the end of each session he would give me tips on how to stretch. There were so many times when he would work with me for longer than the 1 hour appointment time. He even text msgs you afterwards to check-up on you. 4. I like my massage to be very painful. If this is your thing, Kohei can definitely serve-up the pain. I ended-up away from the LA area and I have yet to find someone as good as Kohei. read more

He also knows physical therapy and takes time to educate you about body mechanics and home exercises. My wife and I each had several treatments for different conditions and plan to continue. The deep tissue massage is skillful and healing and the therapist is professional and generous with his time. Located in a small retail space in an Asian strip mall, this is no spa, but massage is performed in a clean curtained cubicle. The owner, Karen, offers acupuncture but I did not partake. read more

Kohei is an intuitive well-trained massage therapist who will give you one of the best--if not the best--massage experiences that you've ever had. I have been his client for almost four years, and I never want to go to anyone else. I first met him when he was working at an acupuncture clinic in Newport Beach, and I immediately liked his gentle unassuming nature and the peaceful environment he created. And the massage was fantastic. Now, instead of going to him, he comes to me at my home, which is even better. He brings a folding massage table, heated mattress cover, clean soft sheets, and music. Unlike some other massage therapists who seem to be watching the clock, Kohei is more concerned about making sure that the massage is complete and that you feel better. He gives a wonderfully relaxing full body massage and has special techniques to address any specific trouble spots.
