Saw this when we were headed out.
    Alexandrea I.

The restaurant was bright, we were immediately seated. Table was clean, service was great and the spaces were constantly being cleaned. We decided on the Hot Pot option because it was the only vegetarian choice. My husband got the BBQ and choose chicken. I loved that this place could accommodate our varying food preferences. I also thought it was super cool that each person was able to choose their own base. A note: you cannot change your broth once you get it. We got spicy and wooo-wee! Our server tried to bring me some vegetarian broth to help dilute it but it was still just too much. That said, it was delicious! We choose several veggies to go along with our soup. There are only a few noodle options and unfortunately, I overcooked my udon noodles and they weren't too tasty. There's also a sushi bar-if they don't have the options you want, you can ask your server-but there will be a charge. There's also chicken wings, spring rolls and mozzarella sticks available to you at the bar. There's a sauce station which was great to enhance your broth. It was a fun experience for our family and we will definitely be back!

Very good quality meats. Orange County's kbbqs meat are pale in comparison

Due to my experience going to tons of kbbq in Orange County since I live there, this restaurant is in my top 5 Kbbqs (in the 30$ range) and I cannot wait to come back to Alabama. Of course there aren't a lot of Koreans eating here since this isn't a Korean populated place to begin with but I am Vietnamese and my boyfriend is Korean and we had our fair share of kbbq meats. I recommend the dinner menu which consists of my favorite item - the STONE AGE STEAK. My second favorite item was the GALBI (SHORT RIB). I originally thought they got the short rib from Costco but I was wrong. their short rib was more tender than the short rib we got from Costco. ( if you like sweet, I recommend this ) If you want a very tender meat, get the FILET MIGNON. (My third favorite) If you want a more flavorful meat but less tender, get the RIB EYE. Of course, if you get the thin meat, of course it won't be as flavorful but I recommend pairing it with ssamjang (should be one of the dipping sauces they give you). That dipping sauce alone is sufficient enough for all the meats Lastly, I didn't eat much of the side dishes but the kimchi was a no go, I would just go to this place for the meats

Our server was Gladys and she was amazing! She was so kind to our kiddos and very upbeat, and just pleasant person! They just added all you can eat sushi to their menu and I'm so excited for this addition! My kiddos got really cute keychains as well! Best items on the menu in my opinion is lemon chicken, stone age beef, Hotpot tomato broth, and the all you can eat sushi! Love this place! Thanks for another great outing!

I love the original location but had to try the newer one. It was as good as I expected! The spicy pork belly and Hawaiian bulgogi were so flavorful and tender. I got the spicy hot pot with pork belly and it was so good...and very spicy! We tried the sushi bar and it was just okay. We won't add that next time. The Korean BBQ part is plenty enough! We had great service from Nana!

Came here for the all you can eat sushi and it is super yummy! The service is amazing and everyone here is super friendly. Will be coming back for sure!

Came here on a Thursday night, and I was sat down right away. There was a decent crowd in the restaurant at that time, but the service was prompt, and I was greeted quickly. It's worth noting that every interaction with the staff was warm and friendly. On to the food :) To start with, they bring out a small portion of a few sides and let you pick 3 more as part of your meal. I went with a small order of the Bi Bim Bop and both types of kimchii, and for my meat, I went with spicy pork belly. It was delicious. My second and third meat were seasoned steak and ribeye. They were both good, although seasoned steak was my favorite. The waitress saw I liked 6 she hooked it up by adding some extra chili powder to my steak and some seasoned jalapeños:) All in all, I had a great time, and the waitress was very attentive towards me. I definitely recommend visiting here.

Spicy pork belly and spicy pork bulgogi

Come on an empty stomach to get your money's worth. Recommend ordering filet and the spicy pork options as they have the most flavor and are so good. Beef bulgogi is an honorable mention as it's soft and flavorful. Unlike some other KBBQ places in other areas, this one does not have servers cook for you which is fine. Just don't expect it if you usually don't cook. About 32$ a person for dinner. Ate a ton and satisfied while leaving! Sides were good too.

Great foot and even better service. Our waitress aka gold fish earrings- was the best. She constantly checked on us and kept our plates full! 10/10. My favorite is the spicy pork bulgogi! They gave me a cup for my birthday.

    Grilling the beef brisket

Like the Stone Age in Huntsville, this location is great for folks who enjoy the Korean BBQ experience. Great meats, great side dishes and good service . Favorite meats Beef brisket , Stone Age steak , Filet are all great Favorite sides Dumplings, Stone Age salad, bimpibop , rice cakes in gochugang sauce , steamed white rice, lettuce wraps and potato salad. Best part you get to cook your meat to temperature of your own choice.

Waiting for over 30 minutes to get additional food. Not a good start...

We've been coming here since they opened and the service has definitely gotten so much better. Their food also has improved but more than anything, it's their friendly staff that keeps us coming back. Were greeted as soon as we walk in the door and a couple of the servers have even remembered us. This is a great date night place for me and my hubs and also a great place to take out of town guests. Our favorite is the pork belly, steak, and lemon pepper chicken, as well as the bigogi and all their sides. We'll continue to frequent this place as long as their service stays top notch.

Nice atmosphere. Great sides. Great service. Seating is a little tight and the prices are ok

    Toya M.

This is a typical Korean BBQ spot. They offer grill or the hotpot. Today we decided on the grill. They have a variety of meats. Typically we do the spicy chicken, Cajun shrimp (which by the way is deveined now thank goodness) and steak. The sides a good and plentiful however the pork dumplings are my favorite. I just wish when they aren't busy maybe shouldn't cook so many of them, because sometimes they aren't fresh/hot and you can tell they just been warmed up. When they're crowded it can be a little noisy/loud.

However, behind this place's humble visuals is one of the most authentic experiences you can have outside of the US. Let's start with my intro on the looks and humble visuals... there is nothing fancy about the space or seating/table, but it is clean/immaculate and very thoughtful about spacing between tables. Other than that, it's clean and functional and very thoughtful as to how it is laid out. The staff is primarily related to the owners of the place (at least when I was there). They are attentive, fast, and efficient at taking your order and getting anything else you want or could need. They are friendly and want you to be comfortable with any dishes you order if you are not familiar with their cuisine. The food is authentic and traditional, and superbly executed. It comes in fairly large serving sizes, but I've never had anything quite like it here in the US. It was perfect in every way I could imagine, whether it was the spicy kimchi pancake, the pickles that accompanied our dishes, or the bibimbap in traditional stoneware that was presented to us. Are we talking about a fancy meal here? Not in the sense of it being white tablecloth or paying through the nose for a decent meal. Is it an excellent meal for an absolutely phenomenal price? ABSOLUTELY!!! I would direct anyone that has a love (or interest) for Korean cuisine to make their way to Haru and allow the experience to wrap them in warmth and comfort, because that is what I felt when I was there and as I departed for the airport to leave Huntsville.

We were promptly seated and had our drink orders taken (they serve Coke products and alcohol; no Coke Zero sadly). The menu was pretty large but they don't offer a lunch portion on weekends which was unfortunate but fine. The adult meals came with 2 sides and miso soup, kids meals featured one side and miso soup. I ordered Beef Bulgogi with cabbage kimchi and cucumber kimchi, wife ordered Pork Belly with bean sprouts and fish cakes, kids ordered Beef Bulgogi Fried Rice and Chicken Frid Rice both with Japchae noodles. The miso soup was a little disappointing - the soup cup was filled a third of the way up and only had a few slivers of green onion; no tofu or seaweed or anything else. It was the smallest, saddest miso soup I have tried. Sides were brought out before the test of the meal -- save them for when the food comes out, you will need them to cleanse your palate and break up the meat overload. Sides were pretty good. The main course was served and the food looked beautiful! Unfortunately the food was very bland. The pork belly lacked salt (don't ask me how this is possible) though the onions they came with were nice. The beef Bulgogi was pretty bad, had flavor but seemed dry and it was just a pile of meat that got old quickly. Not a lot of complex flavors. My youngest kid's chicken fried rice was bad -- the chicken was extremely dry and lacked flavoring. She loved it; but she also doesnt want to use ketchup or any sort of flavoring on her meat usually so that tells you the flavor profile here. The waitresses we had we both very nice, but they weren't attentive. My glass of water was low and I got no refill - no one at my table was ever asked if they wanted something else to drink. One of my daughters used the rest room and complained that the floor of the women's restroom had a lot of water on it. She siad when she say down on the toilet water squirted out from around thr seal and when she stood up it sucked back in. She specifically asked me to mention it and and she's 11 years old and never complains about bathrooms so that was weird. Food cost $72 after taxes for 2 adult meals, 2 kid meals, 3 drinks and no apps or booze. Not worth it. If you think the food looks good, its post production. I really hate to rank this place so low but the wife and a I both agreed that it's a solid 2 stars and that we wouldn't return here. I enjoyed most of the other korean restaurants around town and have traveled quite a bit internationally and across the US for context; this place was not good. If you do want to try it out, I'd advise eating it family style where everyone shares several dishes. Sorry!

The beef bulgogi that I cooked was okay... I've had better elsewhere, but maybe that's because I'm not a very good cook and may have grilled it too long. The lemon chicken was also ok, but I probably cooked too long and I only ate a couple of pieces because server warned me I should use scissors to cut chicken to make sure it gets cooked enough inside, and, well... I got to feeling anxious about if I was undercooking or overcooking it, so I gave up. The salad was meh, and I didn't like the look of the cucumbers (they looked brownish, not fresh) so left them untouched. At first, I thought the restaurant itself looked nice... but then I noticed that the tables and floors were not the cleanest, and walking back to the restrooms, I passed a kitchen or prep area that had several puddles of water on the floor. It did not help me feel comfortable. It's a large restaurant, but there were only a few patrons inside during the height of rush hour. I should have been more observant before I sat down. Overall, I really wanted to like the place and a positive is that the Korean music videos on the TVs were very enjoyable, but unfortunately once I got to feeling "ick", I just couldn't shake that feeling. Once again, that's probably more a reflection upon me as someone who does not enjoy cooking, even at home, so please take this review with a grain of salt. Your experience may indeed be much better than mine, especially if you possess a more open and adventurous cooking spirit :)

The katsu was perfectly crispy and paired beautifully with the rich Japanese curry. I especially loved the big pieces of mushrooms and onions in the curry. Before heading out, I ordered a lychee green tea with boba and lychee jelly to go. The boba was perfect and didn't get tough sitting in the cold drink like some places. 10/10 would go back and would recommend to anyone who is looking for an authentic and fun Japanese restaurant.

I did a pick up order for lunch today. I have never been here, but searched on restaurants near…read moreWalmart and "poof" there it was. I know I was going out to dinner with my husband after work so I didn't want a full meal. Plus, when trying somewhere new l like to test the waters. Boy, was I glad I did. I ordered miso soup and ginger dressing salad. The total bill was less than $8. It was ready and waiting for me as soon as I arrived. When I returned to work and opened my take out bag. Holy Moley! This salad is huge... and fresh! The iceberg lettuce was crunchy, and dressing delicious. The soup was also delicious, hot and generously poured. I highly recommend and I will be back!
