This is the only place in Altoona I'll get clothes... However not appliances. Keurigs and Vacuums are way over priced here.

You know what I mean, there are none of those faux walls that shrink the floor space. With that, they also seem to have a great selection of items that you would not find at other businesses like this. I ended up grabbing myself two hoodies that have become my favorite pieces. Even though we are moving into warmer temperatures. I will still sport those, you can't pass up a good hoody. Clothing aside, they do offer a wide array of other items. However those are the items that you need to pick through. I wish that it would be a constant mix of items, but these seem to be the items that go faster than the clothing. The biggest hold up here, was checking out. Because it is newer in the area and a newer store setup lots of people definitely shop here, so if there are not a lot of cashiers, the line is going to be longer and that equates to longer wait times.

You never know exactly what you will need and when you will need it. I was heading out of town for a conference and needed some business attire. However, my work clothes consisted of scrubs and t-shirts. All of my dress clothes that could be considered business were out dated, faded and just plain ugly. I hate dressing up. It's just not my thing. I know I could have gone to a well known, local tailor for a suit, but on the short time limit and low knowledge of suits, I sought out a place that deals exclusively in suits. Unfortunately for me where I live there is no Men's Wearhouse, so I had to make a bit of a trip to make it here. Walking in I knew I needed a suit and that was about it. When I was greeted warmly at the door that put me at ease. I was measured and then taken right over to the racks to start seeing suits. The lady that helped me was very helpful. She got me exactly what I needed, had me measured for hemming and even found shirts and ties to match the suits I was to wear. I even got a pair of amazing looking switchback shoes. I just had to come back at a later date to pick them up. No worries. I arrive back to pick up my suits, which is the reason for the delay of my review here (wanted to get an all around feel before I based my opinion on just one interaction). Showed up, tried the suits on again and they fit perfectly. I actually ended up spending more money this time in because I needed a jacket to go over top of the suits. In all honesty, this is the most I have ever spent on clothing in one trip and have so little to show for it. But in the long haul, this is going to pay off for a while. Two suits, two shirts, two ties, overcoat and shoes that will help me present myself as a dressy person. No need to worry if I have dress clothes now. Amazing customer service here for sure. They are very attentive to the task at hand. Oh, and get this, they sell more than just suits. I never in my life knew this. Jeans, tees and sweaters are available as well as belts, socks and the accessories.

We took extensive measurements at home based on what another employee told us to measure. The men also have previously been measured at a Men's Warehouse. The customer service representative said "If the suit does not fit, you are going to have to pay for another one. That is not my problem." Amongst other quotes that I genuinely do not have the mental energy to share, the service here was subpar at best and incredibly rude. Would not be surprised if they give us the wrong size suit intentionally for an extra dollar.

ANYWAY lady took the size, and stated that I was a 42. (I have never worn a 42 jacket in my life and ended up purchasing a large poorly fitted 40). The pants were next. 34. No- i tried on a 30 in another fabric and same style that fit like a glove. The lady said that she could only order me a 31 pant, because that was all that was left. There were also no 38 jackets. The lovely in-store tailor was wonderful and felt like she could make it work. I was very clear about what I was looking for. A week later the pieces came in and I came in for a fitting. A gentleman greeted me this time. I put the pieces on, and he said "we have this fabric available for a custom suit, is that something you were interested in?" Yes. How long will it take? And how much? "3-4 weeks. I wouldn't risk it now. You should have ordered last week when you were in." Clearly annoyed, I explained that I was never given that option and told that this was my only option, and that prices are very similar after the extensive tailoring." He said he was sorry. It wasn't his fault. I returned the following week for a try-on after the tailoring was complete. I was greeted by the original saleswoman from the first visit. I told her who I was and that I got a call that my suit was ready. *blank stare in return*. The gentleman went to retrieve the suit. The lady said, "where is your stuff?". What stuff? "Your dress shoes, and dress shirt. How do you think we see if things fit, if you don't bring them." (Would have been helpful to know before coming, that I couldn't use the try-on shirts and shoes that are sitting by the dressing room; it was not in the voicemail). I tried on the suit, was unhappy with the fit. The saleswoman said while walking away "well, its this or you wouldn't match the groomsmen." I explained to her that I could have purchased a custom suit if she had mentioned it on my first visit. She scoffed and said "maybe in a different color. They don't make it with this fabric". I asked her to check and she said "You're right. Its the one overlap in our system. Maybe you can come back and get the custom jacket you want after the wedding." I heard her talking to the other associate. Katalina came over to talk with me and was lovely. I will not be returning and will recommend this store to no-one. I should just have the bride call and have them explain why the suit fits poorly. C'est la vie.

The first time I went there, I was greeted by a very young lady with the question, "how tall are you?" Well, I'm obviously short; was the question supposed to be a joke? One may even wonder about the very wisdom of having young women as salespersons at a store for men -- does Victoria's Secret have a lot of male employees selling women's underwear to women? I just found the whole experience unpleasant. But the second time, dealing directly with the manage, was a different story. State College has very few options for anything, left alone clothing. Jos A Bank is just fine, particularly in the context of this town.
