Walked into Kohl's today with my husband for his annual once a year shopping, service on the floor was helpful and friendly but Sumana is the main reason for our review. She was very engaging and kind. My husband never signs up for credit cards but she was so well spoken about it he immediately wanted to sign up for one! I must confess. I am a bargain-a-holic. I love the thrill of chasing the lowest price for the highest quality item and taking it home to be mine for more than half price. With that established, I can love or leave Kohl's as a whole because they don't always have the highest quality of goods and I usually have to search REALLY hard to find anything remotely close to being worth the price... But I didn't say I wouldn't try! If I am nearby any Khol's and have a little time to kill, I usually pop in and have a look at the clearance racks. I respect Kohl's for housing the following brands: Candies, Simply Vera Wang, Lauren Conrad, Chaps, and a few others I can't recall at the minute - and even more so when they go on 70-90% off clearance! When I find the Women's & Junior's clearance sections too Ross-like, I find solace in the shoes. I can usually find a cute pair of boots or flats or sandals for myself or my nieces/nephew. If I still have more time to browse, I peruse the Home section where I have been known to find many clearance frames, bedding, luggage and decor that tickles my fancy.... again at 70-90% off! They seem to almost always be having a sale and I am not die-hard so I don't always attend but when I do I don't usually leave empty handed. When I think of places to shop, its not the first that comes to mind but has some decent offerings throughout the year and you can't go wrong with getting something for 90% less than someone else paid a few months earlier. You can sign up for their email coupons & sales alerts as well. Go if you're in the area looking for nothing in particular but a great deal. read more

The same floor mat but larger goes for $20 at Costco. I also saw a 65"+ curtain rod for $65! It was on sale for $49. Really? You can get the same rod at Walmart for more than 1/2 the price. My review is strictly based on the Amazon return counter. RICHARD was so rude and condescending. I walked up with multiple returns and as I placed them on the counter with my first QR code, he puts his hands up and says, STOP. JUST STOP. I'm taken aback and just look at him as he condescendingly says that he needs the exact item the QR code matches with. I pushed forward the very first item I had on the table, closest to him. This isn't my first Amazon return. I know how it works. As he continues along with each return, I had the QR code ready ahead of time for him to scan. As we get to the last item, he asks if that's it and I say yes. He proceeds to print the final receipt for me and as I say Thank You, he proceeds to look to his right, lips tight. No thank you. No nothing. The attitude on him was incredulous. I haven't done anything to insult him, offend him or be rude in the first 5 seconds of our initial meet. His behavior is completely unwarranted. My parents always taught me to say please and thank you. He's as old as my grandpa and he didn't have the decency to end the transaction with a simple thank you. Trash customer service. read more

I came in today to buy my son rain boots after not finding any rain boots for him, we were walking out past the women section and I seen some cute KooLaburra boots by ugg on display on sale for $69.99. I instantly fell in love and decided to buy them to only realize at the register that the wrong price tag was on them. After having me wait for 10minutes they came back to tell me they were $99.99 . Not gonna lie, I only come here to drop off Amazon returns and that's a five-star operation. Kohl's is closer to me than a UPS store, and while you have to walk to the verrrrry right side of the store (at least it's not in the back) and I don't get great signal right there at the "counter" so sometimes I can't load my codes well, the employees are friendly and work efficiently to print out labels and receipts and take packages back. Often (always?) you can opt to bring the item in even without wrapping or packing it up, which is interesting... I'm curious what Kohl's gets out of it (financially) since they can't just be after foot traffic, right? Note: You get a tracking number with a 25% off Kohl's coupon, but note that Kohl's had a lot of coupons and discounts normally too. read more

I'M PUTTING KOHL'S ON BLAST. I enjoy shopping at this Kohl's. The staff is kind and the deals are good. In fact, I would have given this place a 4-star rating, but here's my problem (which I suspect is a company-wide problem): In the past, I have purchased this dress shirt and tie combo (packaged in a plastic box). Whenever I am in Kohl's, I usually wander over to see what "combos" they have, and if I like, I will buy, because it is a good deal: They are regularly price at $30 and go on sale often, for $20. So last night I go in to see what kind of sales they have going on for the holidays. Well, there were those old faithful shirts & tie combos, and they were 60% OFF!!! Wow, what a deal! On sale for $12!...Oh wait...the displayed "REGULAR PRICE" is $60. What?! They actually DOUBLED the price of these shirts, so they could sell them for $4 above the regular sales price, or 20% off of the ACTUAL regular price, while stating that they were 60% off. Just say what it is, is what I'm sayin'. In general (to everyone): JUST TELL IT LIKE IT IS. Simply because of that, I'm not sure if I am going to shop Kohl's again. read more

Kohl's is the guilty pleasure for my frugal side. I looooove going through the clearance racks that are up to 90% off! OMG. Years ago, I bought my fiance a pair of Sketchers sneakers for $5. FIVE DOLLAS! WTF I think I also found cargo shorts for him for $5 as well. You just can't lose with some of the awesome bargains here. Maybe I shouldn't tell you guys because maybe the clearance racks will be more empty. I always seem to find awesome chandelier earrings for $7 or less. There's usually some little jewelery items for like $2.50. Kohl's is like a more organized Mervyns, but with better sales. They have a HUUUGE selection of things. My friend went everywhere looking for a winter coat for his gf (Burlington, Macys, Nordstrom, Sears, etc) but ended up finding one at Kohl's. The only way to shop at Kohls is either clearance items for with 30% off coupons with Kolhs cash and starting a new charge account 70 percent off for clearance 10 dollars Kolhs cash 15 percent off for opening a new account 30 percent off with mailer coupon Now there is your big deal 100.00 item 70% clearance.......30.00 30% mailer coupon......21.00 15% off for opening a new charge account......17.85 10.00 or more for Kolhs cash .........7.85 Total charge for item. 7.85. But in this case the hundred dollar item in most stores is usually about $65 so consider the overpricing to begin with Why can't you get the savings like those who shop with grocery coupons? But in the last year Kolhs has been sued through class-action to reduce their gimmicks on sales. Through Nike and other vendors they no longer except 30% coupons Kohls will go by the wayside such as Mervyns department store but in the meantime take advantage of all their coupons and discounts because they do overprice everything in the store read more

I came to Kohl's today to check out the new Simply Vera collection by Vera Wang. I think a lot of other shoppers did, too, because already clothes were in the wrong place and the smaller sizes were slim pickings. The outfits looked nice on the mannequins, and I tried on 6 or 7 items, but alas, nothing fit properly. That seems to be the problem with Kohl's. They have a cute selection of clothes, but when I try them on, they never fit or don't look well made. I went back a got some more things to try on, and again I didn't like anything. I hope their men's clothes fit better because I told BF to check out the work clothes. He has trouble finding his sizes, and at Kohl's they seem to actually carry them. But I suppose we'll see what happens when he actually tries them on. I was originally going to bring some stuff home for him to try, but then thought better of it after trying on things for myself. The last thing I want to do is have to return everything I buy. So if any of you men out there wear a 30x30 pant or smaller, let me know where you shop! read more

Kohl's to me is a lot like Forever 21 - you have to muster the strength and patience to find some gems. There are plenty of gems to be found, too. But you will need the energy to look through sales racks, wait for the right sales and Kohl's dollars, etc. When I do come by here, if something doesn't "jump" put at me, I will make one round browsing and then leave. This location is pretty tidy though so it's not a pain to sift through the clothing racks. I've walked out of here with 3-4 items having spent only $40, so if you have time to kill and need some threads, Kohl's is definitely a good bargain shopping store. They have a great return policy, too. I have bought things online and have been able to return them to the store, hassle free. The checkout and customer service (for exchanges/returns) lines CAN get long though... so your patience is definitely required. read more

Never pay full price at Kohl's. If you follow that mantra, have patience with the occasional long checkout lines, wait for sales and Kohl's cash, and scan the clearance racks you can find some good deals. I recently found Levi's jeans for $40, got a t-shirt, and got $10 back in Kohl's cash. I came back a week later to find a nice button-up shirt for just $10, which was essentially free given my Kohl's cash. You can also return items purchased from Amazon here if you don't want to have to deal with re-packing your Amazon purchases and dropping them off at the post office. read more

But they're always sending free $10 coupons in the mail, so you could essentially buy something for $10 and get it for free...with the exception of having to pay for the tax of course. For the most part I'll toss the coupon in the trash because most times that I go and browse, I usually leave empty handed. The other day I needed to kill some time so with coupon in hand, but no expectations of course, I popped my head in to browse. They had memory foam bath rugs on sale for 60% off. Regular price $29.99, sale price $11.99. I know Costco carries a bigger size for under $15 but that size doesn't fit in my guest bathroom and this smaller one was the perfect size, so I decided to buy it. They apply the coupon before tax which means you pay less tax, so with my $10 discount, I paid only $2.14. What an awesome deal! Not sure if this is new, but they offer FREE WI-FI. We came because we were at Saigon Grille and my boyfriend has never been to Kohl's. I went when they first opened and was most unimpressed. It was pretty much Mervyn's with a different name. So he lucked out with a pair of Nike's for about $40. I guess that's cheap? I dunno. I was actually interested in the Simply Vera items but I don't think they researched the demographics or something because there are like 8 larges and no mediums or smalls. Otherwise, the other things only have sizes 10+. But on the plus side (no pun intended), there's a lot of those in stock. The tunic tops seemed to be pretty decent quality. I guess it didn't help that they were on sale. I would also venture to say that almost everything was on sale. Picture frames were buy 1 get 1. Cookbooks were on sale. Juniors knit tops were bogo. The good: I love that Kohl's has a ton of celebrity designers creating clothes for their collections! Sometimes there are some genuniely great finds! For example, the Lauren Conrad collection has some pieces that are INCREDIBLE and usually on sale! Also, the Vera Wang collection - while still on the pricy end for Kohl's - makes incredibly cute handbags and really great quality leggings. Their website has most everything stocked and it's really user friendly and they make returns/exchanges pretty easy (i.e. you can go in store or mail back). The bad: Walking into the actual store can be an adventure. There are racks and racks and RACKS of clothes that are not really organnized in any discernible order. You would think that most the celebrity designer collections get placed in that section but that is not always true either. It also doesn't help that there are millions of clearance racks, and sometimes full price items get placed on the clearance racks. Also, this store can be so understaffed that a lot of items that you are looking for can be on go-back racks or stuck in fitting rooms. The Ugly: Lines are VERY long especially in the evening time! Also, it seems that there are more credit card sales people on their floor than actual cashiers so it gets a tad bit annoying. RETURNS/ANY CHECKOUT IN GENERAL: I never ever shop at Kohl's and I made the mistake of buying something from Kohl's online. I came to this location to make a return and stood in a check out line for 15 minutes waiting for 1 cash rep check out 2 customers.... Then when it was finally my turn I was told that I have to go to a DIFFERENT service counter to make my returns. Okay. Just like all the other check out counters, the return counter is MEGA slow. It's not just the cash reps, the customers who shop here are largely elderly and also slow. Any sort of interaction you have to make with another person here is slow. SLOW SLOW SLOW. I would avoid this location and any Kohl's for that matter whenever possible. I literally wasted 30 minutes here, 80% waiting in line, 20% interacting with the rep for a return. read more

I gave this kohls a second chance today. I'm the kind of person who only shops for things when I need them and if they're on sale. I found a pair of black leggings that I really wanted today on a sales rack with many others of the same kind. Above them Was a sign that said 50% off. So I went to buy them. When I got to the register it wasn't coming up so I complained and showed the cashier where I got them and the sign that was pretty clear to me. but they still wouldn't give me the sale price. False advertising doesn't sit well with me. This was their last chance, I won't be back. Also it smelled strongly like body odor at the register. read more

If you're looking for something affordable and sensible, you'll find plenty Clothes: There used to be a better selection but since discounts got deeper and more frequent, I've given up finding anything cute and professional for work or play Lingerie: Good discounts on bras and underwear if you can find your size. If I had bigger boobs and butt, this wouldn't be a problem. Housewares/Linens: This is where I definitely benefit. Pots, pans, coffee, sheets...good stuff man! Kids: Where did all the kids clothes go? I think this department (8-20 boys) is shrinking to nothingness. Don't expect sizes to be in their correct area, especially in men's jeans. The allover appearance of the store is well done. It's full of gimmicky offers that are designed to have you part with your money, settling for not exactly the items you actually want, but close. The store employees are hard to find if you have a question. The list price of luggage and what you will actually pay here is out of line with nicer department stores that have genuine special sales. Some items in the store are known name brands, others are cheap knockoffs with unfamiliar names. There are gaps in quality and size availability as well as selection. Parking is ample. Check out process in the past 2 visits was time consuming. In short: Kohl's is just frustrating for me as a shopper. However, friends who are jeans and T shirt lovers are in heaven here. read more

You can always find something here for cheap. Honestly, I haven't made too many purchases here, but I can't say there aren't deals to be had. Clearance and coupons are the things to look for here. Until the Kohl's in Tustin opens in October '09, I am happy to shop in Irvine at this location. I was introduced to Kohl's in 2001 on a trip to Georgia. I can only describe their concept as a store with the interior design of a Mervyn's which has product quality similiar to JCPenny's. If you enjoy choice, they have many, many different well known national brands to choose from as well as their own house brands. They generally feature junior clothing and you'll see a ton of it as you enter the store for men and women. But pretty much anything else you need, you can find here. My best buy here was a "buy one-get one free" sale on good quality queen sheet sets. read more

This location is huge, the juniors department was clean and organized. the changing rooms were also spotless. The worst dot com experience. They're unable to resolve an issue regarding delivery to wrong the address. I called and tried updating my address 10-15 minutes after the order was placed online. I had to deal with customer service that spoke broken English from their overseas call center. This is a direct quote from their site, "We may be able to make the following changes within 30 minutes from when you placed your order: Cancel your order." I was not able to cancel my order, I couldn't update my shipping address with Kohl's, and I updated my shipping address with OnTrac as soon as I got the tracking number and they still screwed up. The payment was made using a Kohl's credit card. I can't do a chargeback, I didn't receive my order, and now I'm obligated to pay for this since it's tied to my credit report. I came in today to start my Christmas shopping (always do it early and have been a loyal member to khols) and I encountered an employee there named Nicole. When asking where certain items in the store were, she completely ignored me and when I asked again she was UNBELIEVABLY rude!!! So rude I can't believe she's in customer service. As I shopped I witnessed her being rude to multiple people I was even given looks by other shoppers at the sheer disbelief. The last straw Was when I heard her murmur a derogatory slur and as a black woman I will NEVER return to this store again. I will be reaching out to corporate about this as well. YIKES! I gathered approx $150 worth of merchandise (Including a pair of shoes - the sole partially fell off the pair I was wearing) and went to the checkout stand. I waited 8 minutes before calling the store on my cell phone. I was greeted by quite possibly the worlds WORST customer service rep and told I was clearly at the wrong station, this was closed and was made to feel foolish for doing something so dumb. I explained that I was at the front door, and really? The attitude? Really? His reply was something to the point of, yes, I was wrong. No solution, just I was wrong. I explained that this meant I would drop everything, leave, and never return to a Kohl's again. He replied "Ok, fine.". Upon further review there are 2 front doors. So we now have 3 issues. Poor store design / layout, poor service and a clear lack of signage. I shouldn't need a map, a compass and a divining rod to find someone to take my money. It was better to walk around working the rest of the day with a floppy sole on one foot then give them my money. I cut up the card and threw my Kohl's cash in the trash. Staffs are friendly. I love that they sanitize the counter between customers. There is an Amazon return at this location and they will give you a coupon to shop when you bring in your return. Right now they have closed their fitting rooms. You have to purchase the clothes, try them at home and then return the ones that don't fit. It's inconvenient but thankfully this store is near me. read more

SO MUCH STUFF HERE. It's not a bad thing; this just means there's great selection of clothes, shoes, jewelry, home appliances, etc. But I just get too lazy to look through everything. Since things are just everywhere, I get overwhelmed and then I just leave. BUT if you're a Kohl's card member or something like that, you can get sent home discounts every now and then. My mom uses the 30% off to buy clothes that are already at an 80% discount. Then she uses her Kohl's Cash. You can buy things here for dirt cheap, but you just have to look for them.
