This review is based on the Customer Service return or order pick up center. Store itself is nice, representatives are great but once you head to the Customer Service desk the mood changes, even the manager was rude. I had to wait over an hour for someone to attempt to fix their previous mistake (have small children so you can imaging how that went). I will never visit that section in this location again. These representatives don't know their policies so if you need to pick up or a return please try the Murrieta store because they are awesome..... Even the Temecula store is great. read more

I made a quick trip to find a pair of pants for a event that same day. Found a pair on a rack that said $14.99. Got to the register and they rang up $32.99....whoa....not looking to pay more than double for something that was supposed to be $14.99. I went back to the rack to check the sign, and the floor manager followed me. Took a look and said that she would give them to me for the $14.99 because the rack was not marked correctly. I was very impressed with how quickly she took responsibility and my customer satisfaction was priority. I didn't get her name but it was the floor manager that was working the morning of Feb 21st. I prefer to shop at Kohl's for its wide selection and customer loyalty benefits. This particular location is amongst the most well kept and cleanest locations I have ever been in. The staff is courteous and helpful. Often the staff will go the extra mile to make this an outstanding shopping experience. Many of the reviews on this location are unfair and misdirected. There is only so much discount that select items can receive. Many of the coupons people are complaining about have lots of fine print. There is only so much that they can do about online orders and billing departments. There is only so much that even a manager can do. Keep those Kohl's Bucks flowing and keep fighting the good fight! read more

This review is not for the store. But it is for one employee by the name of Whytney(not sure I spelt her name correctly, I really don't care either lol) But I'm hoping the stores manager comes across this review and talks to her about her rude behavior & lack of good costumer service. I came into the store with my fiancé yesterday and Whytney was working the men's department. As he was trying on clothes in the fitting room, she would come in and out greeting other customers around the men's department. I noticed when she first came out of the fitting room and noticed me waiting for my fiancé she gave me one of the nastiest glares as she walked past me and didn't greet me as a customer nor did she smile back. I received these glares more than once lol I also noticed that all of the customers she greeted happened to be Caucasian, whereas I am Latina. Not that I seek this particular persons approval but one thing I cannot stand is a RUDE sales associate, nevertheless someone who discriminates whilst being RUDE. Oh and it doesn't end there!! My fiancé and I wanted to know if a men's jacket he was interested in came in a larger size, so we decided to ask the ladies up front on the registers. I wish I'd gotten their names because they were both very nice. Upon asking about the jacket size, they did have to page men's department(ugh), and surprise surprise weggie(oops whytne) took her sweet time walking up to the registers and acted sooooo bothered about having to walk 10 feet across her busy(not) department, with her gracious attitude. As someone who's worked in retail a lot, and me being a short tempered person, I would never act this way in front of customers. read more

On 12/28/14 I went to your Menifee, CA store to return a purchase. As I walked in the store, I looked for a sign or something to point me in the right direction to return my purchased items. I stood in line for 45 minutes before I reached the cashier. As I was standing in line, I continued looking for a sign near the checkout registers to see if I could return my purchased items. There was nothing visible stating whether or not I could return at the registers near the front of your store. When I approached the cashier and told him I had a return, he told me that returns are done at the back of the store and then he pointed to a sign that was hanging from the ceiling, about 10 feet high or so. I was shocked because when I walked in the store, it never dawned on me to look up at the ceiling to see if there was a sign hanging informing me and others to go to the back of the store for returns. I was extremely upset, but I preceded to go to the back of the store for my return, only to find the line was twice as long as the one I had already waited in for 45 minutes. I asked to speak to the manager on duty and was directed to Missy. Missy was not very nice when I tried to explain to her what had happened. She told me there was nothing she could do for me and that I just needed to stand in line. I told her that there needed to be a sign at eye level when entering the store so there would be no confusion when returning purchased items. She then told me in a very rude manner (her demeanor sucked!) "I can't do anything about that, I can pass it on to the corporate office and maybe they can do something about it." At that point she had a scour on her face and said what do you want me to do?" I asked her for the number to the corporate office and she told me she would give it to me. She went behind a closed door and came back with the number. I then asked her for her name and she gave it to me. I asked her for her last name initial only, because I know it could be a potential privacy issue (revealing one's full name.) She then very rudely told me that she was not going to give it to me because she didn't have to and her name badge says "Missy" and that's all that I needed. I told her she should be ashamed of herself because her attitude sucked and where were her customer service skills. I also told her that she needed to practice better customer service skills. I then asked her why she was being so rude to me, I said to her, "Is it because of the color of my skin? Is it because I am an African American woman? What was her problem! She paused for a minute and looked at me as if I were crazy and said, No! She said no but in my opinion, I truly wonder what her motive was and was she treating me this way because of my dark skin.. She then told me I have nothing further to say to you and I am walking away! She abruptly walked away and went behind closed doors. I have never been treated this way when trying to return something and nor has anyone made me feel uncomfortable in my own skin. She made me feel unwelcomed in your store, and in fact I was humiliated when she refused to talk further with me and walked away. I will never shop at your store again and I am planning on letting everyone possible know that Kohl's employees are mistreating customers especially those of color. Without customers, Kohl's would not exist. And by the way, I went to another Kohl's (Temecula) and returned my purchase and they had signs as you walk in the door at eye level, where they should be. If you don't address the issue of your employees practicing proper customer service skills and treating everyone equal, regardless of the color of their skin, then shame on you Kohl's. My husband made a purchase online to pick up an Earth Therapeutics Anti-Stress Hot & Cold Comfort Wrap @ the Menifee store. When he went to the customer service desk to pick up our order, he was told that our order had been cancelled. He asked who had cancelled the order and why..? The customer service rep said " I don't know"- He said, "Well, I need to get one, so can you see if you have any in stock?" The CSR checked the sku #, and said, "we have 10 in stock" and then sent him over to cosmetics to get one. He spoke to the cosmetics personnel and she said, "why did they send you over here? I don't even know if we have any of those. I will go check in the back". She came back and said," I didn't find any". My husband said, "I want to speak to a manger."A manager came out and he said to her," who cancelled our order? She said, "we did." My husband asked, "Why?" She said, "Because we don't have any." He said, "Then why did your CSR tell me you have 10 in stock?" She said, I don't know." He said, "Well that's disappointing". She said "I'm sorry". She did nothing to help, she was useless! To make matters worse, I had called while my husband was at the store to check on our "cancelled order" through corporate and they put in another order AGAINST my consent. I said, DO NOT process this order, but my credit card reflects TWO charges now! I will update later as to how this gets resolved. read more

We have been shopping here for years, and I love all purchases we have made in the home dept, and the holiday seasonal sections. We usually wait for the sales and their email coupons, and we get fantastic deals. We love shopping at this store because it's always clean and organized, and employees are always helpful. we have to give props to Amanda at the front lanes. She is our favorite employee, she always has a bright smile on her face, a very nice and mild manner of greeting, and is a true pleasure to deal with. Every time we see her at the front lanes we make it a point to checkout through her lane. Even when the other side is empty or has less people in line, we still prefer to stay in line because we like to speak to amanda. It is truly rare in the retail industry to get high quality customer service nowadays, because people are burned out, overworked and underpaid. But Amanda is a real ray of sunshine, and the way she greets us, and assists us, and expresses how much she appreciates us coming in, truly makes us feel like we are visiting her at home, rather than a retail store. If all other employees in retail stores had Amanda's wonderful attitude and customer service skills, shoppers would be much happier, and feel appreciated, and more likely to come back. I have never gone back to stores where service was subpar, I choose carefully where I spend my money. But I am honest when I say Kohls is blessed to have a true gem like Amanda because I choose to go and shop at this Kohls time after time, because of her and her service. Honestly this kohl's feels like it's understaffed because when ever I need help looking for something in the kitchen section there is never any body around. This makes me have to walk around and find someone or go all the way to the cashier and ask if anyone can help me. Also when there are workers around, they tend to talk to each for long periods instead of checking if any customers need help. Its bad enough there products are overpriced, but getting help seems to be a hassle. I rather just go to ross or macys from now on. read more

Kohl's is one of the only department stores in this area, so they pretty much have on monopoly on clothes sales. We went the other night in order to purchase some dress clothes for my husband who had a job interview. I know prices from Kohl's tend to be on the artificially high side, so I made sure I brought a coupon. However, we were absolutely dumbfounded when we got to the register. $70.00 for shoes that aren't even leather? Are you crazy!?! The dress pants were the same price. In mitigation, the cashier was extra friendly and understanding (Hence the 3 star rating). He even admitted he purchased similar dress shoes from Kohl's and they were not of good quality and scuffed easily. We decided to go to Famous Footwear in the same shopping center and purchased similar shoes for the more reasonable, but still high price of $50.00. We found similar Dockers pants at Ross (which we didn't end up buying due to the fit) for like $20.00. Kohl's: Stop artificially raising prices for mediocre quality clothes! There needs to be more options for people on a budget. read more

So at the local kohls walked in 5 mins before close motivation activated door was turn off and half way to open no body greeted or said anything no problem, that's fine. So I'm looking for pants for my wife for her first day on the job, and I'm a guy crap have no idea where to look just rumbling around trying to quickly get in and out, closing announcement comes on saying "bring your purchases to the front we are closed" then more than half the lights turn off mainly in the back. Hope no one trips! then I got to the other side like a new frontier. A rather large woman out of breath with armful of items and clothes let me know they are closed and asked if I was looking for something in particular. I said " yes my wife sent me her for woman's pants that is pain black business. She responded back with well we have a rather large store and we are closed. What! for real . So are you kicking me out! Well the quicker I find it quicker you can close so how bout you help me help you, psshhhhh she said well right where you were kind of looking . I came in today to start a wedding registry, I went the the back customer service counter and said that I wanted to start a wedding registry and the girl said , that she didn't know how to do it and she was asking her co- workers of they knew how to do it .. one girl came from the back and said that she knew how to do it at the kiosk but she had to find a " blue bird " I went to the kiosk to wait for her and she didn't come back so I tried to figure it out at the kiosk myself but u can't register at the kiosk I asked another employee about the wedding registry and she said that she didn't know how to do it so I got upset and told my fiance I wanted to leave because no one knew what the r doing . a sales associate named jessica came up to me and she told one of the other girl to find the elusive " bluebird" which happens to be the name of the hand held scanner used for registries ... we finally did it ... but what a pain read more

First time here, and it's only because we needed suitcases for our boys to go on a trip. Had the Moreno Valley store call just to confirm they have it, and after asking them to place it on hold for us we traveled the 20 miles out to Menifee. When we got to customer service desk there was only one ahead of us, and while she was being helped it was just us for about 5-10 minutes until another customer joined us, but in the online pick-up line. Then another showed up. The employee asked us to head on up while she helped the guy who came after us in the online pick-up line. Do they get special treatment because they ordered online? If they do, I guess I missed the sign that said so, and I apologize for this review. But if they don't, then I'm really pissed because not only did she help the guy, she also helped the lady who came after him. So she helped two customers who came in line after me while I'm still waiting to be helped. I got upset so I left the counter and went looking for my item. I'm upset that as I tried to make it easier on me to just be able to come in and pick my item up, that I had to navigate a Kohl's store that has a completely different layout than ours in Moreno Valley. So, no points for the experience at customer service; however, Keira, the lady who checked us out in the front was really friendly. read more

Kohl's is the best, but this one is really, really messy. I suffer from debilitating diseases and spend a good bit of time in a wheelchair. I tried going in my standard-sized, manual wheelchair once and I won't do that again. There are always clothes, comforters, picture frames, toys, shoes, or boxes of product on the floor! The aisles aren't wide enough to get around them. The clothing racks are VERY close together and it's too hard to navigate through them, especially when there are clothes and hangers on the floor! I have never been able to go into the intimates department because of the aisle width and junk on the floor. I am a cardholder and I prefer to pay my card in the store, but the line at the desk in the back is scary! Hey Kohl's...in the 20 minutes I spent in line there, I could be shopping and spending money in your store! Don't you want me to come into your store every single month and spend time there? All the things I can't buy there because I can't get to them, I buy in that very parking lot at Target, Famous Footwear, Old Navy, and Lane Bryant. I give them 3/5 because they have good deals. I frequently receive coupons that helps us buy quality things at a reasonable price. The employees are always friendly, even in the holiday rush! I appreciate that there is usually a wide selection of products in each department. read more

Most of their clothes have gotten out of style in the past few years. They always have a log line to cash out and 2 cashiers open throughout the store. The only good part about the store is that your able to use multiple coupons at once. read more

Insanely friendly staff. Literally everyone greeted me. Except the one person I asked for help...she looked at her phone and STARTED a conversation with other staff amongst me asking a question. But out of all the employees she was the only one not helpful. The rest were very very helpful. So overall good experience. Just as an update from my previous experience. I went again to Kohls maybe last week sometime and was definitely happy with what I saw. The clearance sections were more put together. There was definitely more organization in the back then the last time I was at the store. I didn't have any interactions with any staff during my visit, so I can't comment on a change in that, but I was very pleased with my visit in terms of the change in cleanliness and organization in the back sections! I came in here today with my husband and kids you know doing some christmas shopping. When we were ready to check out we were helped by (BRENDA) she was extremely rude. No greet or anything. As she was ringing up my items i saw a sweater i was purchasing that the price was not correct. So I needed her to do a price check .. Well i guess that was a problem to her. She gave me additude and this horrible look!! Just how she was treating me i took it has a racial incident!! I was also interested on getting a kohls credit card but she didnt even offer it and when i asked she just rolled her eyes. I was so upset that when i asked for her name she had the nerve to ask "why?" like are you seriously stupid? I said i will be writing a review on your service. The she said "okay I dont care" and laughed in our face. She is very lucky my children were there and i kept my cool. This kolhs sucks. 1st bad experience was when I attempt to purchase towels off the clearance rank but guess what they had no price soooo I had about 3 different associates trying to find the price. What do you know! Not one person could locate the price& even better one associate even said that item has never been sold at kolhs lol get real why the heck would it be on your shelves!? So since the price could not be located the manager told the lady to tell me they could not sell me the items because it was a online exclusive and could not be sold in the stores. Well I guess this kolhs needs to pay better attention to the items they put out on their shelves to sell. Now today I went back it was crowded why oh why does this place have 2 cashier at their registers with long lines& on top of that they ring people up so slooooooow so slow. I was only there for 3 items needless to say I put my stuff down & left. I have a credit card with Kohls but I only shop there when there are sales and I have received a 30% discount ticket because their prices are so inflated. This store never has anyone on the floor to help you and they only have l-2 checkouts open at a time even though there are several available so you have to stand in long lines. You also have problems getting strollers to carry your purchases. Here comes the best part. I just found out that if you do not purchase using their credit card on a regular basis, they drop you from their mailing list and you do not receive any catalogs and discounts anymore and I was given a special charge card because I had spent so much money in the past with them and the card is titled"Most valued customer". This is how they treat their most valued customers...poor customer service in the store and on the phone!! and poor company decisions on how they make their favorite customers feel more loved!! They tried to hide this practice when I insisted they tell me why I had not received any catalogs and discounts for months...GO TAKE SOME CLASSES ON CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more
