Smart from a business standpoint because you have to walk through many aisles to get your order and likely to buy something else. Well I did because the clearance rakes are in the aisles. Purchased a nice cardigan for $8. Back to order pick up. You must have a cell phone that connects to the internet in order to pick up your order. The email link leads you to the bin number to get your item(s). Took less than 60 seconds. Staff was welcoming and helpful when I used the self-checkout. Surprised they had them. I wrote about a month ago how the Amazon line is outrageous anytime of day you go, any day you go. There's always one person working it. I'm not faulting the worker, I'm sure they're tired (do they even get a break with Amazon returns constantly during their shift?). This second review for this location is to say it's still just as bad but I asked about stock by calling the store. Whoever answered, didn't provide his name. He had the rudest tone, didn't want to talk to me. Having a bad day it seemed but add the fact he wanted to throw his bad day onto me. The lady at the Amazon return desk was very rude when I was making a return. I go there often, and she is usually the one who helps me - never friendly, never says hi, never responds when I apologize when the Amazon code isn't loading. Honestly, I've stopped going by that location when I'm a good mood, because she always brings me down. Easy parking. The customer service was good for both returns and purchases. I had both during this visit and for a weekend both were speedy, even though they were clearly busy. They canceled my store card and issued a Capital One Visa. I never had a choice. I lost count of how many people I spoke to both in store and on the phone with Kohls and Capital One. The a** does not know what the elbow is doing at this place! I finally wrote a scathing letter to their cooperate office. I had to reapply for a simple a store card and even though I NEVER carried a balance, missed a payment and have a credit score of 828 was dragged through the mud and treated like some low life financial delinquent. I finally received a simple store card and it cost me a 12 point hit to my credit rating with all their snooping around. I live in a small town and even though the Kohls here is not well stocked and has constant staff turnover, it's the only game in town other than a depressing Belks and Target! It's a Kohl's. The most difficult thing about Kohl's is remembering how to spell it. Khol's? Kolh's? I don't understand how anyone ever stops shopping here. They constantly give out 30% off coupons, have sales, and give out Kohl's cash like it's candy. I love Kohls primarily because of their incredible customer service, especially their online service. In a society where customer service has truly gone downhill they are superb! I won't bore you with all of the different examples in which they've demonstrated their skills, but it's been great every time I've had to contact them. As for Kohls it'self...it's crap shoot as far as what you will find..With the exception of the Novi location (my favorite), the other Kohls (Northville, Westland) seem disorganized, chaotic, and messy. You will find racks and rack and racks of mismatched clothes, can't find sizes...there's no room to move around (don't even think of bring a car into that mess). They clog up the narrow isles with HUGE, OVERFILLED shelving units. They also need a better selection panties. Your choices are: pre-pubescent, sluttish teen, or granny panties... Now with saying all of that, I love the selection of clothing. I just want it organized and less clutter. I'm impressed with some of the styles that they carry. I look for good deals on towels, bedding, kitchenware and frames. NOVI has the best Kohls! read more

I'm obsessed with Kohls, but what I've noticed is that no two stores are alike. Each carries a variety of different inventory from various brands. What I like about this location is they always have the latest fashions from my fave designers like Jennifer Lopez and Lauren Conrad! I waited in the customer service line for 20 minutes to return some clothing because the two transactions in front of me took forever (which was super frustrating). The associate that handled my return commented on how there was no way I wore that size clothing (I do though, so I felt awkward) and then praised my decision to decline a Kohl's credit card. I used Kohls for part of my wedding registry. After months of calling them to ask where my kick back was for using their registry, they told me that they no longer do that or log it. Mind you, I have been getting the run around from them since Sept...my wedding was in June. The only way to apologize for their error was to give me a $25 credit. I like Kohl's because they have an excellent credit program that provides good discounts for the majority of their items. They also have a fabulous return policy that is quick and efficient. The clothes are organized well, and has a good selection of clothes and housewares. I've shopped at Kohl's dozens of times and every single time I walk in, I am usually greeted with a smile. Horribly slow customer service desk. I came to pick up an online order and waited 15 mins and when I got to the counter the cashier seemed clueless. She didn't ask for my ID, asked what I ordered then asked if the order on the screen was correct. I have no idea since I can't see the screen! I have to thank Cheyenne for helping us tonight. Yes, it's 1am and kohls is open 24hrs until Christmas. We bought some items around 8:30pm and realised long after getting home that we had been charged three times for one item. So, we headed back, figuring it would be better to sort it out earlier rather than later. Our original cashier was still there and took us back to vouch at the Customer Service desk, with Cheyenne. I'm pretty disappointed in my experience at this Kohl's today. How many times have you made a big Kohl's purchase only to come home and have a 30% off coupon waiting for you in the mail? So you bring your stuff in and do a return and re-buy to get the 30% off credit, right? Tried to do this today but received nothing but attitude from the young lady in customer service. (I was so upset that I forgot to even look at her name tag). I brought everything with me so all they had to do was do a return then repurchase vs. them having to key in each item number. She was like "I can't do anything without having to return everything and that will take a while" as she's giving me major attitude and staring at the people behind me in line. I mentioned that I've had to do this before and haven't had a problem, but she just rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed like I was ruining her day. Being that I had just packed my toddler in the stroller with snacks and toys and made the trip in, I started to get pretty upset with her attitude and said "ok, well I've never had anyone give me a problem like this before so I guess I will have to take it somewhere else." Then she said "well it will take time anywhere you take it so I guess I can help you here." And I said "ummm, no thank you." Then complained to a manager. But even the manager said "I know who you're talking about and I will talk to her because that's not right" but it's not like she said "come with me and I will help you." I live right by this kohls and Ive come to this kohls for years to it to get everything I need. I've never had a problem in the past, the workers are really nice and helpful. But today I had a problem. I went to return 2 leggings that I purchased last week and I lost the receipt, so i figured they can just give me store credit because I was buying some other stuff. So I stood in the customer service line for about 15, when I got to the counter the lady told me I needed an id or drivers license to get my store credit. I asked if I could show my school id and they said no. And I remember that about a year ago I returned a shirt and I gave them my student id, and I had no problems. So when the customer service lady told me no, she also said that I can use a state or license. I told the lady that I just turned 16 so I don't have a state Id or license. She said that I need to come back with someone who has an license or id. So I asked why cant I just ask anyone in the line behind me to show their Id for me. The lady then told me that then the store credit would be for the person who shows their Id!! This is when I got upset. Then I told her that it doesn't have their name on the credit and that they don't ask for id's when you use your store credit. She said I understand but we can't do that. So my point is, if I knew all of this, I could have either had a parent come in with me, or I could have found someone in the store who was willing to help me make this easy return. All of this trouble and ridiculousness for $30!! REALLY!?!? So then I said thank you and I'll be back with a parent another day and went on my way. Then I asked another worker if a manager was in and he was so kind and got her right away. I believe the managers name was Candice and she came out very fast and was really nice. I explained to her the whole situation (pretty much everything written above) and she said the same thing as the worker at the customer service counter told me. I really don't understand why it has to be only by state id or license. I could have shown them my school id with my picture and they could have punched in my name on the computer, and that would be more efficient. I am really disappointed at this awful experience especially since I spent over $200 just now buying my little sister clothes. read more

I think we all would agree that customer service is A #1 however at this location a few customer service people will try to embarrass you when you try to return an item. So here it goes, I purchased a pair of shoes online in which didn't fit returned to try on another pair that fit went to Customer service and refused my return even though I had almost $200 of new merchandise to purchase so at that time I left my things due to poor attitude, chomping on her gum in her mouth, rolling her eyes , calling me girl, saying she doesn't have time for this while looking at the clock... Another associate took over and handled it in a professional manner and made me feel a little less frustrated. With that being said I only gave this store a 1 star due to lack or thereof for handling customers the right way. Training is a must for this location but it may not be since her attitude might be just her personality and Myr. is certainly not a good fit for Khols since they deserve way more with the good reputation that they have.
