Every once in a while, when I'm in the somerset mall, I will pop in to the store depending on whom I'm shopping with. This place isn't for me. However, they have some cute housewares. It's very expensive for what feels like. Maybe something I could either upcycle or thrift. There is no service here, workers are not around to assist. read more

This place is so cute, but so expensive, it is hard to shop here for too much. I love their pop culture kitsch. They have so many unique throw back items that are irresistible. The clothing is often confusing though, it looks like vintage items but had premium and unaffordable prices. Oddly enough, I do like their sock selection and have bought many pairs here. This is a fun place to find those fun and unique gifts. read more

I've aged out of the Urban Outfitters demographic but in highschool and college it was my jam. These days I pop in check out some of the housewares and see if there's anything age appropriate for my cousin, who is coming up quickly on their target age range. And this store is one of the better in the area. A few things of note: Urban Outfitters has never really been known for their attentive service, it's just not really part of the brand, but this location in particular is pretty aloof. Other than that it's a fine spot. It's large, spacious, with one of the largest selections I've seen. Some of the stores can be a bit scattered and unorganized, particularly the sale section, but this one is nice and tidy. Their housewares area is a little lacking (the Ann Arbor store has more of that it seems, maybe for the college students looking out outfit their apartments/dorms?) but the clothing is bigger than most. I'll pop in when I'm in the mall but I don't typically go out of my way to go here. But when I do I enjoy it. read more

I walked into this store only because I was picking up an online order. I received an email stating that 2 of the 2 items I ordered were ready for pick up but when I get there am told that only 1 item is available. Okay, cool but I was clearly inconvenienced by a mistake, irregardless if "humans make mistakes" because they also try to make things right when/if they do, which none of the employees in this store even attempted to do. I was actually told what "they weren't gonna do", which was to do what I (a customer) suggested and that was for them to comp the expedited/rush shipping for the inconvenience. I was baffled by how casual they were treating the situation as if it was not created by a member of their staff, or at the very least a member of the same company. I asked for the manager Annie and waited another 5+ minutes before just walking out of the store with an UO representative on the phone who applied courtesy NEXT DAY AIR shipping to the order I placed online. Although I stated within my feedback that I did not want to be contacted about the matter since I HANDLED IT MYSELF and guess what? I was harassed by Anie who provided a very long-winded EXCUSE as to what happened and why it took her so long to come out to talk to me. Mind you, this was no later than 11:30 AM on a MONDAY morning and I counted at least 10 employees in that store and no one was of help. I stated in my feedback that I would never visit this store again and I won't. Then on top of the unfavorable experience, they had soul music by BLACK artists BLARING throughout the store, yet me, not only a customer but one of the very few Black people in the store at the time, is disregarded over a mistake made by staff. Standard selection of stuff, store is very clean, staff attentive but not hovering. Very solid UO experience. I like the selection of books and household items this location carries, but their sale section is kinda lackluster. Maybe I am just getting there after all the other fashionistas have already raided it. read more

2 words: Love it I've been shopping at this Urban Outfitters location for about 5 years now. Ever since I walked into this store I have been fascinated by the clothes and accessories they offer. I love their tees and jackets and they have a clearance section in the back which has good deals for $9.99 and at times less. For example, I bought a leather jacket which was previously on sale for $128 but now marked down to $29.99. So I would definitely hit that section up first before you go looking around anywhere else in the store. They do have a good eclectic mix or home/personal accessories but I do feel they are priced way too high One thing I liked about this store is that they actually play good music. I've been to this location a few times, and the layout seems to be a lot more open than the other stores I've been to. It might be that the ceilings are higher... The registers are somewhat annoying when you're called and you have to push your way through a crowd of people browsing and paying, but they're quick. I always check out their sales and clearance area, because I'm way too cheap to buy anything here full price. They always have a great assortment of small gag/hostess gifts that are pretty cute. read more

I remember when i was in grade school/high school and my sis was a student at U of M in Ann Arbor. I loved making weekend visits to hang at the college campus and do some shopping in the downtown area. One of my favorite places to go was Urban Outfitters. Now, a decade and some later, I'm still getting threads and much more at this uber hip chain. Now, opened in Troy in the Somerset Collection this store that sells anything from Chuck Klosterman Books to Lomography cameras to catcher In The Rye t-shirts is the perfect place to go when you really want to splurge. The prices certainly are a bit steep at Urban, but you can always find some unique items, especially when talking about their housewares. In addition, Urban Outfitters offers a great selection of name brand clothing and shoes for both men and women. I always find myself scoring unique gifts for the holidays here like Alice and Wonderland glasses and a Tupac ashtray I bought my mom last year. I don't think I've ever written a review but dear god was this review worthy, I have my account updated on urban outfitters with my correct address as my preferred. Well it wasn't sent to that address it was sent to a different state. After I had immediately contacted a representative I wasn't answered. I tried several more times before getting an answer. Finally I was told I couldn't cancel the order and had to try to redirect it but had to wait till it shipped but I had to keep track of that not them, so as I did that through the days and finally got someone to potentially redirect it not one but 2 people never sent the request as you can see on the tracking information, finally on a third attempt someone did but it was too late and the package had delivered across the country. Needless to say I won't be shopping here ever again. At least not unless I am physically in front of a representative. Thanks urban outfitters for ruining a store that I actually frequented. read more

I grew up in this area and moved out of state a few years ago but whenever I come home I make my way to Somerset. Urban is always one of my favorite stores to visit. The men's section here isn't as large as other locations but I still think everything else is just how I like it. They still have a good vinyl collection, nice housewares, and the store is clean and tidy. The workers here are also very friendly and easy to talk to. read more

Urban Outfitters is a must stop place for anyone visiting Somerset Collection. They have frequent sales, random nick knacks, books, great tools for photography, jokes, ect. It is a store that you truly must visit to see. The style of the store is set more towards a trendy, artsy, college type or young adult lifestyle. Fitting room staff is very friendly as well as all of the other staff, they frequently change their displays and stock of nick knacks, and up front displays. Definitely stop in and check the store out every-time your at Somerset Collection because they have frequent sales and new stuff coming in all of the time. read more

I just can't seem to grow out of UO! I love the Ann Arbor location, but it's quite a drive so I work with the Troy spot. This a very cool store. If you like funny books- they have tons! Lot's of cute party favors, lomo cameras and more. I actually spotted these plastic boxes from California that I used to love when I was a kid in the 80's. I like the summer clothes at UO more so than the fall offerings, I seem to crave higher end pieces when it gets chilly. They have the best t shirts and high waist shorts for warmer weather, as well as some sexy tanks and underpinnings. I have gotten a few amazing maxi dresses at UO, great for layering up this winter. The fall items are cool enough, cheaper gloves and scarves for running errands and some of the grooviest socks in the men's dept. I love buying my little bro clothes here too. A def must stop anytime I'm near by. If you have a teen or want to shop for one, this is an amazing gift spot, few youngins wouldn't appreciate a gift card from UO in their stocking this xmaxs. read more
