Last week, I returned a pair of sunglasses because they broke and it was totally hassle-free since I had not saved the receipt. I love the sales, coupons and especially the "Kohls Cash" that you get (10 dollars for each 50 spent). I honestly dislike shopping and this store is not bad although there are not enough cashiers at times. I hate waiting so a few times I've actualy left my armful of potential purchases on a shelf and left the store because I am severely impatient and hate waiting in line. Every time I come into this store I have been greeted promptly and always with a smile. This particular day I came in looking for a specific Nike sweater for my son and a wonderful lady named Nelly (who I later found out is a manager) not only helped me locate the exact one I wanted but also showed me how to download the Kohls app and search other locations to see availability of other items for the future. Anything that helps me save time is greatly appreciated especially with such a hectic schedule! I thought it was especially nice to not only see a manager on the registers helping to keep the lines short and flowing but to also take the time out to actually walk me over to where the item I originally came in for was located. This use to be my "go to" store. I have spent $$$$ there. Unfortunately perhaps new management or something else has taken over. I went there last night to return something to Amazon and decided to shop for a few minutes. You would expect the toy department and the children's department to be well-stocked and appealing because after all it is time to shop for Christmas, each of these departments was a total disaster! Messy, not well stocked and items were damaged and destroyed. If a store appears to be this dirty and messy I can assure you that It cannot be clean and sanitized for shoppers to be safe. read more

This is my Kohls. I can walk here. Now, I avoided Kohls at first but then Mervyns disappeared and there went my place to get cheap tshirts and "in a pinch" outfits. Here is the thing about Kohls (and dept stores in general), you gotta be ready to LOOK. Like, really LOOK. There have been times I've gone in Kohl's and haven't left with a single thing. There are other times, I bought WAY more than I should. It all depends on what is in the store at that time. This Kohls is pretty well organized (except the shoes, God save "self serve" shoe depts.), the cashiers are nice, the layout is easy to figure out, and the dressing rooms are decent. It is what you would expect from Penny's, Sears, or Mervyns (if it was still around). Not a Macy's, but not a Kmart. Kohls has easy returns, a decent woman's section (you know, for like people between 27 and 40), and good men's section and a VERY good kids section. The shoes section is always torn apart on the weekend but usually cleaned up by Monday... some people are pigs I swear. The linens and bath stuff is nice and holds up well. The downers are the toddler/preschool size section. Like Sears, it is too small and not enough selection. The jumping bean brand is pretty good, as is the sonoma brand but I'd like to see more OshKosh in there than just the little section... and maybe SPROCKETS like Sears??? I dunno. Also, the kitchenware selection is lacking. The biggest secret of Kohls is get the charge card, go during a sale (which is like every week) and bring your extra %age off cards. You get great deals and then just pay the bill off when it comes. NEVER pay full price for anything here. ALWAYS come when there is a sale. read more

Clean and organized. This location usually has a bigger selection then the other Kohls stores in the area. Staff are friendly. The downside is limited staffing. I was using order pickup and that went quick but the main checkout line when I exited the store was about 15 people deep with 1 checker. read more

Not sure what's up with the low low ratings but I love my local Kohl's! Best Pros: + Closeby local in Almaden Valley/South San Jose + Spacious parking and and interior. It dominates the plaza + Across from Oakridge Mall and next to In 'n Out, holla + Deals of the century- SALE SALE DEALSSS for daysss + Nice employees, it's hard to work retail during the holidays but my customer service has been superb + Quality clothes, accessories, home, bath, etc. Great brands! Cons: - Sales/discounts are trickkky - Lines can get crazy during the holidays I went here the late night of Thanksgiving (I know I couldn't resist, I really wanted to avoid Black Friday). Went there and came out with multiple Toastmaster appliances of waffle maker, grill, panini maker, rice cooker, slow cooker-- most of them under $10 (after rebate)! That is insane!!! They are going to make sure great gifts :) I also got $3 yoga leggings, $12 khaki workpants, $13 bootsies. Even previously without this mega sale, I have gotten active/sporty clothes for under $10. If you open a credit card account, you get 30% for the whole day (which I did for Thanksgiving/Black Friday-- score). And in your first transaction, you get an extra $10 off! Kohl's is also famous for their CASH BACK deals. My mother and I spent about $500 (it'll all be rebated down to $300) and got $105 in cash back plus 25% discount on top of that. The other day I went to shop at Kohl's and had the worst experience imaginable. It was actually my first visit in years, but I don't think I'll be back. I was treated horribly. It all started when I was followed by an employee in the kitchen department. I'm not sure if I was being profiled because of my dark skin, or because I look young and out of place in that department. It made me feel completely uncomfortable. Either way, I ended up not shopping in that department because of it. It was sad because I had a list of items I wanted to pick up. I should've walked away at that point, but I wanted to purchase a gift I had found for someone. It was a T-Shirt that was on sale for $15. When the original price rang up as $20, I explained to the cashier that the sign said it was on sale for $15, but unfortunately she didn't believe me. I asked her if she or somebody else could verify the price on the electronic sign, but she just shook her head and said "it would be a waste of time". Great. It was at that point, I chose to just walk away. I definitely won't be back in this store. I can't say that your experience will be like this, but be warned: they're certainly capable of treating you in a similar fashion. read more

I popped into Kohl's for a tablecloth, which I found quickly, at a good sale price. I immediately noticed that the majority of cash registers were closed. In the front of the store, I found the only 2 registers that were open in the entire store! The line went to the side of the store, down the entire side to the back of the store and halfway along the back wall. Finally they added 2 more registers and we all waited in line for way too long, with our masks on. There didn't seem to be anyone shopping in the store, we were all waiting in line. What were they thinking putting all of us in danger of being infected? The unnecessary exposure was not acceptable! I will never shop in that Kohls again. read more

If you buy anything at Kohl's, please be forewarned that if you'll ever need to exchange it at any point you'll be royally screwed over. I had to go back and forth from the Gilroy one to the Blossom Hill one multiple times because they said I'd have to handle it at the original store. I did an exchange for some bras (that were the same ones/same sale) but were bigger sizes so it was a dollar or so extra for each one and ended up paying over $20 extra "due to the bonus bucks I had earned being revoked from a return" even though it was an exchange! I try to shop smart to get the most out of my money and ended up wasting HOURS of my time since I live in Gilroy and had to go back multiple times (also wasting gas). I know it's only $20, but I work retail and know how to take care of the customer/make it right and Kohl's does NOT know how to do that. I will definitely not be back after all this and will continue to warn anyone thinking of shopping there. read more

Yesterday, I had a small purchase, one item. There were 10 people in the line in front of me, at least. Within 5 minutes, there were 6 people behind me. I heard someone ask for additional cashiers, but no one came. The line was slow. So, I called the store. I got a woman who said she was in Customer Service. She said she couldn't help me because she was in the back of the store. I asked her to tell a manager about the long lines. She said the supervisor on duty was up there. I told her someone asked her for additional cashiers, but no one arrived. She said there was nothing she could do. What kind of customer service is that? She could have at least tried to be helpful. I was very nice about it all. She could've offered to let the manager know. She could've called someone. Surely! It was like Christmas with those long lines. All the registers in this area were not open. Why couldn't the supervisor start helping? She was just standing there, watching all these people wait in this very long line. Kohl's is a great store. I have trouble finding jeans that fit me. Kohl's seems to have every kind of denim jean they make. I appreciate the quality of the t-shirts they sell. The cotton is soft and a little heavier than the flimsy t-shirts you find at other department stores. Their sheets and linens are fantastic - so soft and they fit so well. Their underwear: just try finding women's Jockeys. Not very many places sell them and often they are on sale. I have also bought sweats and jackets there. My husband buys his shirts and pants there. The staff is always friendly and efficient and the lines move quickly. My sister buys her grand children their clothes and toys there too. The experience was inconvenient. The online post was slow, and shipping was expensive, compared to the weight. I could not order online without paying the ship-to-store feature. Most stores close to my house did not carry the item, even though the sale was a Saturday 9 to 1 deal. So I had to travel a little too far. When I got there, I had to search through disarray of drawers, getting on the floor to search multiple times (aisles are narrow). Fortunately, I did not injure myself. I don't think kohl's merchandise is something many can argue about. The stores are usually usually well-kept, as well. The in-store customer service is usually courteous, too. Unfortunately, the corporate offices customer policies are so bad, they outweigh all the positive points just mentioned. Aside from essentially canceling my online order pursuant to their extremely flawed "identity verification" process, - much of which required me to jump through several hoops, including going to a store with two types of identification - they refused to honor the Cash Back promise of the order. Customer service has really gone downhill here. Nobody even smiles. Waited at customer service forever, the associate didn't call for any help or backup until I made a comment (there was at least 10 more customers in line!). Nobody says anything to the customers in line. Finally we get to the associate and she is not friendly. We know you are miserable, it's written on your face and perfectly clear in your voice/attitude. When we finish there is no thank you, have a nice day, nothing.... This review is for the Amazon Returns. I brought a few items in to do a return and was helped by an older gentleman. After scanning the items, he said his Zebra scanner is not connecting to the printer. He went to the back to get another set and came back to help me but it still didn't work. He took the devices to the back again and asked his counterpart to help me and she said ok. This is an Indian or Persian lady who helped me in the past with my Amazon return and she is extremely rude to me. After he left, she helped 3 people who were in line, and didn't bother to check in with me as if I am invisible. I approached her after the third person she helped and politely asked her if she could help me complete my returns as asked by that gentleman while he went to troubleshoot the scanner and printer in the back. She said "I'll help you when I'm done with all the people in line. You need to wait for him to come back". I was amused by her poorly orchestrated customer service and how rude her response was. She finally helped me after 40 minutes and 22 people when she could've helped me after that man asked her to. Luckily the line didn't get any longer or I would've waited forever. read more

My boyfriend and I were just in this location for some super last minute shopping. It's 10PM and they only have 1 person on register, which isn't inherently bad. However the only girl checking people out had a customer that was purchasing a LOT of stuff and liked to talk for far too long. The employee was very polite about it and in their conversation I overheard her say it was time for her to be off of work. After that transaction she was nice enough to help us out since we were the only ones in line and clearly no one else was coming to relieve her. As she rang up our 2 items, the manager kept interrupting to scold her about not taking a break in time, causing the cashier to have to leave us and walk over to listen to her boss. The young lady helping us was great, but it's terrible management to interrupt a transaction to scold her staff in front of customers. read more

I am a total fan of Kohl's - however not this location. I went back this evening as it was close to where I was and again was disappointed with the guest service at checkout. It was after 9pm - one open register with not one , not two- but THREE sales people all at the same little space. All talking in some foreign language and looking at the 4 of us in line.... FINALLY one of the three went to another register and clocked in to help others. The customer service at this location has not improved and obviously won't. I will have to order online now or find another location with english as their first language and priorities of 3's a crowd! read more

I can't really say that I really like the whole Kohl's experience. The store layout is structured in a way to keep you walking through the entire store to look for what you want. Things are not orderly laid out to help the customers get in and out fast. Most of the items have fake sales on them when the products are actually marked up then brought down to trick customers into thinking the products are actually cheaper than what they usually appear to be. Overall a shady business practice that I do not care for. read more

I came here at opening time on a Wednesday morning to exchange some clothes bought by friends for my infant. There were no more than 5 customers in the store (I watched them walk in). This will be relevant in a moment. I located the baby / toddler section and spent 20 minutes trying to understand their archaic organization. My daughter started getting fussy so I finally just started throwing anything that fit on her stroller so we could get out. I walk to the front to exchange the clothes and this bored looking cashier told me I couldn't exchange it there, I had to go somewhere else. She gave me (incorrect) instructions. I wandered for another 10 minutes, now carrying my crying baby and pushing the stroller. No Kohl employees on the floor so I walked back up to the front, found a different bored looking cashier who gave me different directions. I finally ended up at the back to exchange the clothes. Why one of those bored cashiers couldn't have shown me the way, I don't know. Especially since a couple of minutes later I saw one of them in the back right where I was looking to go. At the exchange place, I told the lady that it's difficult to have to go back there to exchange clothes and would she mind telling management. She told me sure, but I don't believe her. Then, she ceased to make eye contact with me the rest of the transaction. Needless to say, I didn't go back to use the $10 coupon they gave me. read more

I try to be really open-minded when it comes to retail environments and department stores. I know it can get hectic and understaffed and customers can be difficult. However, this Kohls doesn't seem to attempt to remedy any of the aforementioned. I asked the associate behind the counter in the jewelry/beauty department today if someone could assist me with getting a product ("hi! I was wondering if someone could help me grab this powder?") and she responded with, "No. The woman who handles makeup left early today so...no. You'll have to come back tomorrow. I don't handle makeup." When I asked if anyone else could assist me, as the product was in a locked under stock drawer, she responded (more aggressively) with "I said no. That's pretty much it." Moral of the story is, I didn't get the powder. Or anything else, besides the feeling that I was a nuisance to a person being paid for customer service. Oh well. read more

Without a doubt one of the worst online shopping experiences I have ever encountered. My wife attempted on two separate occasions to purchase a "Britax B-Agile 35 Travel System in Red" for our new baby. On each occasion Kohl's online rejected the order due to a recent address change which my wife had updated with her credit card company. What we found most frustrating was the fact that the customer service rep couldn't even confirm the exact reason for the second "delayed" rejection notice. The "delayed" rejection notice was another unacceptable issue. Why did it take them "2 days" to send an error notification to my wife's email inbox?! On our third attempt we both attempted to place the online order over the phone. As we were going through the process it appeared as though the customer service representative deliberately hung up on us. We immediately went to an online survey prompt instructing us to rate our online experience when we hadn't even completed the order! We had no interest in calling again. 3 separate attempts and we still couldn't complete our order! At that point we were done with Kolh's online. After performing another Google search for the desired product, we found it on Amazon. Within 5 minutes our order was complete. There is something as simple as placing online orders that many e-tailers screw up. I now put "BabiesRUs" and "Kohl's" in the category of "1" star online customer service experiences. I will never use either of these online retailers again. An absolutely horrid and frustrating experience. read more

2 stars for being a clean store. I'm frustrated because the customer service here is just sub par. We stood in line where there was only one checker. The checker was slow and never once called for back up. One woman in line went to the jewelry counter to get help and was refused. She left all her stuff and just walked out. Another woman behind me called the store and asked whoever answered the phone to send help for our long line. After that the jewelry counter suddenly had a change of heart and started taking people from the line but still this checker never got a back up. It is frustrating. It seems that here at the beginning of the holidays that they would have handled staffing better. read more

This location is very clean and organized. However, customer service is severely lacking. Most of the time the cashiers forget to take the ink tags off my purchases, and when I bring the items back to get the tags removed, I am treated with suspicion (even if I have my receipt). The selection is poor and the quality isn't always the greatest. Starting at 40 minutes to close they announced every 5 minutes on the overhead they were closing. I'm currently watching two female staff members stand right outside the changing room after my husband went in. They loudly told him we're closing in 35 minutes. Now two other female staff members, one a blonde manager, have taken it upon themselves to go into the dressing room and let him know again they were closing. If this was reversed, it would be a serious breach in safety and protocol. No man would ever be allowed to walk in on a woman in the dressing room just to tell they close in HALF AN HOUR. It was obvious everyone wanted to go home and they were incredibly rude. As anyone that has worked in service knows, you're there until close, and you don't stop doing your job properly just because there is an hour left in the shift. The job is called customer service and it definitely doesn't seem to be part of the mission statement at this kohl's. Campbell Kohls isn't like this. read more

I'm fine with easily listening or instrumentals, but it was filled with LOUD Nickelback and God/faith/work hard, country music. Had to make a return here this evening. I tried on some pants last week, but since the pair I tried on seemed a little shabby, I decided to buy a different pair in the same size. I went by the size on the hanger, though, and didn't check the actual tag inside the pants. I should've checked the tag, but the pants also shouldn't have been mislabeled either. Anyway, the returns line was pretty long. At first it didn't seem like they had enough people working customer service, but they eventually did get more help there. Once I actually got to make my return, though, service was quick and friendly. I don't have anything against Kohl's. I've found some great, cheap clothes there in the past. The mislabeling thing, plus a few other small problems (messy fitting rooms, for one), may keep me from rushing back anytime soon, though. read more

The woman at customer service took it upon herself to return the shoes instead of exchanging them, and then said "Oh. And now your Kohl's cash won't work." and shrugged. No apologies or anything. This location likes to steal from people, and if you leave any review on the actual kohl's.com website that isn't positive they remove it immediately. Decided to stop into Kohls yesterday to see their great summer mark downs. The first problem is they do not have anyone on the floors of the departments to help you. I mean I kept walking and walking trying to find someone. NO luck !!! Then I finally find the section I am looking for and it looks like a tornado has blown through it. Everywhere I turn is a mess!! Cloths strew in every direction! It's so crazy I am losing any desire I had to shop. When I finally found some things to try on and went to the dressing rooms it was worse. Every room was strewn with cloths I couldn't even find a room without someones old clothes they had just tried on. so sad. I know it's not the employees fault but if management would put more people to work they could make the store pleasant the way it should be. You can get some great deals at Kohl's. My husband and I like going there when we have the time to look at their clearance section. I especially love it when their clearance section has an addition % off. I got Nike warm up shirts for only $3/ each! Definitely great deals if you have the time to look. I don't shop here regularly but the couple times I have, we have found FANTASTIC bargains. The first time we found a huge rack of clearance ties. And I'm not talking about ugly ones no one wanted. These were nice $40 ties marked down to about $5 or less! We went through them and my fiance picked out several nice ties for less then the cost of one normal priced tie. Just recently we came in to kill some time and we noticed that they had Invicta watches. We were going to go to Costco to look for these as we couldn't find the brand any where else, but Kohl's had them and they were on sale for 25% off. My fiance found one he wanted, and with a 20% off coupon as well, we got a $280 watch for $180 even after tax! I still won't make this a regular stop, but will definatly come back for some more bargin hunting! read more

For a Kohl's, this location is still my favorite -- it's clean and uncluttered and the people that work here are actually really helpful. The only time I shop here though is when I get a 30% off coupon in the mail, otherwise I find that for the quality of the clothing items, the pricing is quite high. I mean, really? 100% polyester tops with retail price of $40 and upwards? I try on a lot of stuff but rarely buy anything -- the fit is inconsistent (even with the Lauren Conrad brand) and quality is pretty bad. I'd rather get my clothes at F--- 21 or H&--. For my mom, I'd rather buy her stuff from the K--- S--- brand at M---y's than the sonoma life here. I think the men's department has better stuff like adidas, Nike, and Dockers. That being said, I'll occasionally buy home items here. Again, visits are only warranted with the 30% coupon (if you have a Kohl's card). I -specifically- come for the K-Cups. My fiancee drinks quite a bit of coffee and with the coupon on top of the sales, the K-Cups here are the cheapest...better than Amazon or Costco. I just snagged a 48-cup variety pack for $25 out the door. Score! read more
