I've gone here a number of times only to be increasingly disappointed. The last time will be my last time... the shelves were picked over and it looked more like a bargain basement sort of establishment. Anyway, I thought I found a decent sale price on a shirt only to go home and have a seam blow out on the first washing. Then when I went to return it I had to wait in line at "customer service" for about 15 minutes while one employee worked the register and a second one would glance over every few minutes but continued to restock returns without offering to help me. I will admit I love kohl's as a company and to go shopping. Yes they hardly have any staff and they move like snails even with a long line but I always find a great deal and have plenty of coupons I can use. Plus they stay open late which is an added bonus. read more

I love Kohl's Santa Rosa store! Great selection and great prices. Friendly people. Can't wait for them to reopen, glad the Tubbs fire didn't completely destroy the building. New to town and needed a pair of classic men's shoes in black. I was greeted right away and the store is huge compared to the one in my hometown in Napa. I got to the shoe department and carefully looked at the huge selection. A guy was working the department but seemed completely oblivious to me or the other customer. Instead of him assisting me, I decided to go and ask for help regarding a specific size. He seemed bothered by my request; he came over scanned his gadget at the box and simply replied "not in stock" and walked away without looking me in the eye or offering any additional help. I was a little taken aback by the carelessness. I found a decent pair of boots, but the service was not good at all for a first impression. Not sure if I will return. read more

I love shopping at kohl's but the one thing i must warn is the customer service is not the best. The employees move like snails i waited in line and the chinese cashier is the slowest moving employee i've ever seen. I waited in this long line that wasn't moving at all and then went to jewelry to do my purchase and it was done right away. I recommend making your purchases in the jewelry department it will save you a lot of time. As far as making returns go it is a long process and only has one person doing it, i feel bad for the employees that are being made to handle the long lines by themselves the management needs to step in and help out. read more

Kohl's in general is an interesting store. They have super super super high prices but then everything is "half off"... I will admit I do come here for tennis shoes, but unless you have coupons or the item is on sale you are better off going to a Macys or even Nordstroms - basically a ripoff. So when you are looking for an in between Walmart and Macys, try Kohls and you might be in luck! read more

Their quality is okay although I have bought a number of items that fall apart in a couple of weeks. Their customer service is awful. I bought an item for my nephew for Christmas and my niece needed to exchange it. When she went down with the receipt they took $10 off the price because I received kohls cash and only received store credit for 8 rather than the $18 I paid. They said that it was because they had to treat it like a return rather than an exchange because she got him a different style of pants. It didn't matter that she was still getting something from their store and not asking for money to go somewhere else or that I was still being charged the same amount on my card. When she tried talking to them they told her oh well, go get the $10 from the person that gave you the gift. Think about this before buying a gift for someone and using Kohls Cash. Stay away from Kohls in Santa Rosa! The store manager is as unprofessional as they come! They don't know how to appreciate customers. My daughter tried to buy a skirt for herself, and because she is not an adult, they laughed at her and said she was not a customer and could not buy her skirt, even though she had money in her hand and a cupon she was using! Since when do customers have to be "adults" to be able to buy a skirt? I asked to speak to the store manager, Charlene Stitor, a real B*tch, who yelled at me and wouldn't even let me speak when I tried to get an explanation as to why my daughter is not considered a customer, she laughed and said "c'mon, she is not a customer , you are, and you are done for today" really? Everything is always messy. It's hard to find the size, because everything is in piles or thrown on the,floor. Very disappointed.

I love shopping at Kohl's. Years ago in Connecticut, my mother wanted to go shopping. I took her from her assisted living residence to the local store, pushing her with her oxygen and wheelchair. When we got to the store, there was a manikin in a wheelchair and the aisles were all wide enough to push my mother through the aisles. I loved this and she did too. Acknowledging that all people are not able bodied is wonderful and making pushing a wheelchair easy was so unlike any other store. It made me a Kohl's customer for life. I do agree the local store often has piles of clothes tossed around but maybe they could hire more workers, employ people and clean up the stacks of clothes. read more

Kohl's is great for sales and yes they have coupons. I'll shop there again eventually but will keep the following in mind: Had one of the $10 coupons from the newspaper - went and bought 2 items, used the coupon. One item did not fit the person intended for. Went back to store waited in line while cashiers chatted...other workers talking to cashiers making everything move as fast as molasses on a cold day. Waited my turn...finally...only to be told I have to go UPSTAIRS to customer service for returns. Really!??? OK, go upstairs - surprise - another long line and only one person handling returns. Finally it's my turn. The woman tells me she has to return the item, give me credit and then ring up the other SIMILAR item I had selected as a replacement.. The item I purchased was $27 but she only gives me credit for $22. Huh? She explains that I've now "forfeited" part of the $10 coupon and won't apply any part of it to the replacement purchase. I thanked her and said that I don't want to buy the other item if I can't get the discount amount applied to the $40 item I intended to purchase. She just took the item and said "Ok so you don't want the item" and I had to say, "yeah and you don't want this customer. I can shop somewhere else and get the same item." So I'm going to JCP or Macy's to buy the Nike jogging shorts. It's not like Kohl's is the only place on earth to buy them. Their customer service is non-existent and the workers move like snails; the clothing racks are a disaster as are the dressing rooms. JCP is bending over backwards for customers. I frequent Kohl's for their selection of solid camis and tees. I have found them to be of adequate quality and they tend not to fade or shrink. I have been to this location a few times and have never been impressed with the level of customer service but have never had an experience like I had this morning. I arrived at the store a few minutes after they opened. I walked in to see a woman near the juniors section and another at the jewelry counter chatting, which does not bother me, but neither of them could be bothered to greet me and continued their conversation about how they were out partying until 3 AM. I can appreciate going out and having a good time but this is not appropriate conversation for the work place especially when a customer is the vicinity. I proceeded to continue shopping when I came across another employee who acted like it was a complete inconvenience to do her job. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning to this location nor did I make my necessary purchases today. I would suggest if you need to shop at Kohl's going to their location in Petaluma, where I have never had a negative experience & have had great customer service. read more
