We booked the extended pet photo session for the awkward photoshoot because December 2025 was our first Christmas as husband and wife, and we wanted some kind of fun family photo with our dog. After seeing their work on Instagram, we had specific awkward poses in mind that we wanted to recreate. Some of the poses looked impossible, but the photographer made them happen and guided us through each one. The experience itself was fun and lighthearted, and they were very accommodating in helping us achieve the awkward look we wanted. The main reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that for each pose, she only took one shot unless I specifically asked for one smiling and one without. This made me a little nervous, especially since we were posing with our dog, who moves a lot. In some of the more awkward positions, I honestly wasn't sure if we looked okay or if anyone came out blurry. It's hard to feel confident that one shot can guarantee a perfect result. Overall, the photos turned out nice. We paid about $200 and received around 25 digital photos (we chose the basic digital package with no prints). I do wish we received a few more photos, or that she took multiple shots of the same pose with different facial expressions to give us more variety. That said, it was still a fun experience and we now have some unique, awkward family photos with my husband and our dog. Highly recommend to do this once, especially if you like silly photos and when you can brings your pets. We definitely don't regret doing it and the final pictures did turn out well. read more

The store was actually very clean. I just was surprised that most of the clothes look like old lady clothes. I am 72 years old, but I don't wanna look like an old lady. They also were very expensive. This review is specifically for the cosmetic section, JC Penney Beauty (formerly Sephora). I had an accident not too long ago that left me with two pretty severe black eyes. I dared not venture outside my home as it was so unsightly except for a family camping trip. I had a meeting this evening where I'd be meeting new people. On a whim I stopped by the cosmetics department and asked if they knew how to make my black eyes less noticeable. Both Nicole & Natalia immediately said for me to take a seat. Natalia, a young enchanting woman was incredibly understanding & went to work on me. What a delightful person she was. Natalia did an excellent job and then Nicole (who I have received excellent service from in the past) made a few suggestions to compliment what Natalia had done. The results were quite pleasing! ZERO STARS FOR PORTRAIT STUDIO!!!!!! I strongly do not recommend coming here. ESPECIALLY to get photos taken in the portrait studio!! Not only is it pretty pricey but the photographers don't know what they're doing (at least the lady I got) jcpenny just hires anyone for a job it seems... People who are clearly not qualified. - I showed example pictures of what I wanted and was told "oh yeah, no problem, I can do that for you" just AWFUL. Why say you can do something YOU CANNOT, aren't you embarrassed? I also got blurry and terrible angle pictures. They took over 5 snaps of my son in six poses but only showed me ONE of the pictures from each pose!!! This is one of the few stores that is still currently open. It is three levels high kids apparel, kid shoes, offices, and the Disney store. Up here everything is really organized and well and the best thing is your AC is working most stores like Sears and JCPenney's that you go to the AC is not working here he works just fine. read more

Came in here last night around 6pm and it was pretty busy we hit most floors doing our annual Christmas shopping and the deals were definitely there. One thing I wanted to point out was the checker Shawna who was helping us. I sat and talked with this girl as she was checking us out. I watched her ring up the five people before me and this lead me here. She was kind, she was patient, she was working and trying her hardest, she needed help but nobody was to be found and she just worked out the problems and continued through the line of customers. In seasons like this I always look at the workers faces. . As previous management that's something I always paid attention to.. the patience and kindness this girl had was irreplaceable at a time like this and had to let somebody know. I don't know her I never met her in my life but to see how she handled each Customer in this crazy Christmas time showed me there's at least kids who still show up to work with respect and determination, Shawna you had that girl. The man on the 3rd floor women's department was very helpful. Next I went to the jewelry department. The lady in the jewelry department was very helpful. She really helped me fine what I was looking for in my price range. I wanted nice things at a great price. I walked around the department for what seemed like an hour pulling out everything I liked to get a closer look and she helped me the whole time. I had my jewelry bag full of great items. She was so nice and sweet. I was hoping to get some stuff in the store instead of having to wait for shipping. I'm a big fan of JCP. I tried fast fashion then realized I should go back to the stores my mom took me too because I rather have a quality clothes that last. I'm thinking of trying the salon next. read more

Terrible customer service! I tried to return a sweater that I was given as a gift. I explained to the clerk that I did not have a receipt because it was a gift, and I just wanted to exchange it for another sweater. as I was talking to her, she walked away to help another customer who set off the alarm. After a minute or so, a different clerk come over to help me, and I had to explain again that I wanted to exchange a sweater, and that I didn't have a receipt. She said I needed a receipt to return or exchange something, and asked if I could ask the gift giver for the receipt. When I told her no because it was my 80 year old father 200 miles away, she said all I could do is exchange it for the same sweater. How ridiculous! I later found on the JP Penney website that this is NOT their policy and they do allow exchanges without a receipt. I will no longer shop at this store. read more

I have found great items here on sale for a great price! I really like their selection of women's clothes. I also shop here for my husband's clothes. They have a good selection of both business and casual wear. I have always been able to find the size I need except for one time. The store clerk found my size online and placed the order. I chose to pay for shipping to my home but they do ship for free with in-store pickup. Overall this Penney's is very much to my liking except for one issue: it's uncomfortably warm in this store! While I'm very sensitive to heat, I remember places I have been that are miserably warm. Unfortunately a lot of department stores have this issue for me. The extremely bright lights combined with poor air circulation add up to unbearable conditions. The women's dressing rooms are airless chambers for me. I have to get out before I sweat all over the brand new clothes I'm trying on! Seriously, Penney's, put in some fans and use lower wattage lights. read more

WHY OH WHY DID YOU RUIN YOUR WONDERFUL STORE???? I've been wanting to write this for quite a while now-every since your decided that to change your great store was a good idea. Well, guess what? It wasn't !!! Before-great lay out, everything easy to find, great pricing, great quality, great variety, good customer service, etc etc etc. NOW- complete chaos! Poor quality clothing except for the Worthington Line, can't find anything anywhere including employees to work the register !, everything is always a disorganized mess, displayed clogging up every aisle, LESS of a selection of items especially on the 3rd floor which used to be my favorite!, Difficult to navigate around the store, all the stupid signs in spanish (how about French or German????), etc etc etc. By changing your store, you changed your customer base and LOST many of us. I feel like Im shopping in a messy walmart now. The mid-centurey vibe and decor had a classy feel to it and made me want to shoot here every time I could. Now, I can't stand the place and almost never spend any money there ever. Whoever thought up this disaster needs to go work for your competitor. Has anyone been to the newly remodeled JC Penney? I dropped by this past Saturday and wondered if I was in the right store. I was expecting to find the familiar, warm, friendly and inviting store and find the clothes that I usually buy. What I saw was a "new" modern looking store that appears to be trying to compete with the "big boys". The lighting was so bright it bounced off all the shiny glass and chrome, practically blinded me. Has this location forgotten who the market is around here? You do realize that you're located right across the street from a fixed income community, right? I would like to point out that JC Penney is not Nordstrom, okay. I felt so out of place and that I wasn't worthy to even step foot inside the door. I'd really like to talk to the marketing genius behind this remodel. Seriously, you have to be kidding me! Where are all the brands that you used to carry? And the clothing styles...don't get me started. I am not an old person, far from it actually. But, I am not a high fashioned model either. Are you wondering why people no longer "go to the mall"? Well, you just got your answer. I used to love to shop, but no longer. Why, you ask? Because I can't find the clothes in the styles I like and at an affordable price. JC Penney used to be that store. Not anymore. You may still have your sales, but on things I would not even consider buying. I'll continue to shop via the Internet. The newly remodeled JC Penney was a disappointment. Not only have all of the prices gone up, but I think they raised all of the prices only to have everything on sale. So basically, you are paying the prices that the items should be in the first place. Another reason I will not go back. If you go into any department, there is music playing. Sounds fine I know. The problem is that every department is playing something different so in most of the store, you can here all of the different music all at once. OMG are they kidding? Saphora is right in the middle of the store so that music which is geared towards younger shoppers is audible all over the store mixed in with every other departments music. I literally left with my hands over my ears. I LOVE all kinds of music, I guess I'm just not used to listening to multiple songs at once. Who is running that place? read more

I have not been to Coddingtown Mall in years. I see that it has changed and is trying to remodel and keep up with the styles and trends. And, the same can be said for this JP Penny location at Coddingtown. The store is trying to keep up with the times. Staff are friendly and helpful. Sometimes it was not easy to find something, lots of the merchandise seemed to be moved around. Yet, I do think people can get a good deal on clothes and other items at JC Penny. The men's department for this location needs a mirror or two in other spots besides the dressing room area. That way, one can see what a hat or vest might look like. Having to go all the way over to the dressing room area just to look in the mirror for a simple item is very inconvenient. I like the selection of accessories like ties, belts, hats, etc. I am a bit disappointed in the sweaters. They should have more variety and quality of sweaters, sweater vests and cardigans. JC Penny has great sales. Yet you have to know what to look for. The Stafford brand is a deal, especially their executive quality dress shirts and slacks. The sport jackets and blazers not so much. But the Stafford brand top coats are pretty good for the price. I think JC Penny has better clothes for the price than Macy's and more reasonable selections for men. Not to say that Macy's doesn't have good merchandise, it is only that Macy's prices and selections don't always balance out for the average person. We all were not meant to be fashion models with lots of money and forever 21. Ha, ha! If you are not greeted right away, take a moment to say hello and staff will respond. Like all retail stores, it can get busy and it helps when people simply ask for help. Otherwise how will they know you are there, especially when at the cash registrar? For those who like the Dockers Levis brand, JC Penny is the place. There are lots of items to choose from. And, when a sale is on, the deals are worth it. The JC Penny brand St. Johns' Bay is a good brand, comparable to Dockers I think. Many times St. Johns' Bay is on sale and certain items like the sports ware and tee-shirts are a bargain. Oh and shoes...JC Penny has good shoes, for men. And, yes, in the latest styles. I find that the Spirit brand is a good shoe, it holds up, even the moccasin and loafers. I know because I am very hard on my feet. JC Penny also has a wide selection of underclothes in the name brands. And, these too often go on sale buy one get one half off or 20 to 40 percent discount. Like other stores, JC Penny also has coupons. Use them! You can save $. And if you use your JC Penny credit card you can get a 10 percent discounted added to the sale price. Looked to me on my last two visits, that the Coddingtown Mall location for JC Penny's is in the midst of remodeling. Be patient and as I said just ask for someone to help. Each time I have visited this location, someone on the sales floor has always offered to help, even when things are in disarray or some items are not easy to find. read more

I would highly recommend not placing an online order for pick up with this location. The ladies that run the pick up desk have an attitude when asked if there would be any chance for a slightly sooner pick up of two (2) items. Normally I'm okay with waiting my turn and understanding with pick up times but this is a little different. I politely asked the lady at the desk if it would be okay if I went and grab the items, brought them back to her so she could confirm they were the things I ordered and she said that there was no way she could do that and wouldn't reach out to her peers for help in processing this one (1) order a little faster. When I asked if she could cancel it so I can go buy them upstairs by myself she just gave me a look of " I dont care " and told me she couldn't do anything tell she has the conformation from the email, then looked at the people behind me to help them! So not sure if we were done with our interaction we just wondered away to get them ourselfs. For any thing in the store dont bother ordering it ahead of time expecting to be in and out. Visited here today for the first time in several years. They have remodeled and it's clean and bright. The service is not good. I asked at least three people in the men's dept if they carry skinny jeans that were corduroy and sales person pointed me to the area next to them and said to try another brand. I'm on crutches and not one of them bothered to look for the item themselves and I would expect that when not on crutches. Rather than look around your entire store myself, I'll just go online and buy them from another vendor. read more

I ordered something online - I received a robo call for pick up 5 times in a 1 hour period. That was excessive. I tried to call them back to tell them that I got it and I would pick up the order later that day and NO ONE ever answered the call. This store is wonderful. They have updated their look, appropriate to marketing trends and still maintained many of their familiar brands. The Liz Claiborne section is my go-to department for both quality and cost. It's one of my husband's favorite places to shop because the prices and selection are really good. He enjoys the big&tall section. Also, need to mention the importance of a clean dressing room. The store is on top of this and I really appreciate it. Their home department has vastly improved, as well as jcpenney.com. And Sephora is a wonderful addition in this store. read more

I finally asked one cashier if she could ring me up on another register, as there was two empty ones in her kiosk, while the young Mexican victim filled out her forms. I ordered a new comforter set and decorative pillows from JCPENNEYS online. I received decorative pillows but no comforter set. I called customer service and was told item got stuck at warehouse then I was told item is now out of stock. I wanted to return decorative pillows and have UPS pick them up at my house but JCPENNEYS does not do that. They have 1st sold an item that is out of stock amd 2nd shipped decorative pillows that I now can't use and they further want to inconvenience me by having me ship them out. Due to it being After Christmas, and the Fact that I walk A lot, I went into JcPenny's to look at shoes. There was NB $29.99 Selective style. I have had NO experience with the Word Selective products. I got a little Mixed up with the prices due to that word. With my attitude, I went up to a associate, which turned out the be the Shoe Department manager, and asked him if, what I was going to purchase, is the correct price. It was not. I got frustrated with the Turn Out of the price. It was my fault and misunderstanding. The manager was Very Patient and Cooperative with me and honored that sale price. As I was about to leave, the manager asked me if I was sure as to what I was purchasing. I was unsure, so I checked out the shoes again. It was not what I thought I would be getting. So, I went and got what I wanted. Then I went to purchase them and the Sales Associate Jasmine was right there for me. I told her I felt guilty with the discount I was getting due to my attitude. We just bought a new bed from Maura, the sales associate. She was great, and spent a lot of time with us. Our complaint is not about Maura, but about the moving company that took the old bed away, owing us a big rebate. It has been over a month, and no check as of yet. :( We contacted Maura, and she has been on top of the situation, plus had the manager get involved as well. We highly recommend Maura, but Penney's needs to find another moving company, as they don't care about the customers at all. read more

We bought a Box Spring and Mattress in January 2015. I told the manager Mike the problems that my husband was having with the mattress and the manager sent out a replacement mattress. This mattress was worst then the first. I was told to contact there customer service. I work until 2:00PM I asked for an appointment after 2:00 so I wouldn't have to miss work to get this checked. After several attempts to get them to schedule the check for after 2:00. I had to go back to JC Penny to get a sale person in the furniture store to get an appointment after 2:00. This took several weeks. When the inspector came out he didn't check for the problem that was complained about he only checked for sag and stains. I was told that they didn't find a problem. That I can get it rechecked in 90days So they boast about a 10 year warranty but if they don't check for the problem that is being complained about then what is the point. The problem is it feels like there is a broad right above the waist and my head feel like it is lower then my body. This set cost over a $1,000.00 ; And it appears that I have to put up with this. Arrived a few minutes late, there was no other clients there but were given the 3rd degree that they were busy, there were 3 photographers.... just hanging around.
