    Aquarium World - Hammer coral

When I left Chicago, I figured that I'd be forced to start going solely to Petsmart for my fish…read moreneeds, and was very pleasantly surprised to find Aquarium World. Although I've only bought one living thing from them, their non-living supplies are great. They sell RO water for $.50 a gallon, salt water for $1, and reef salt water for $1.50, which has made moving much easier on my fishy family. They also always give solid, consistent advice, and their employees who specialize in freshwater aren't afraid to say, "Let me ask someone who knows saltwater better." I appreciate that inner-knowledge. And, adorably, sometimes they have axolotls! Which is delightful. I'm just sad that axolotls aren't community tank critters, or I'd totally buy one.

I had a pretty disappointing experience at Aquarium World recently. I returned a few cheaper fish I…read morehad purchased earlier and opted for store credit so I could upgrade to some different species that cost more. That part seemed straightforward at first, but the process quickly became frustrating. When I used the store credit to buy the new fish, the employees working that day--who appeared to be new--started explaining that if the new fish died, I wouldn't be able to return them. What made this especially frustrating is that this policy was only explained to me after I had already paid for the fish. If that had been clearly stated beforehand, I would have appreciated the chance to reconsider the purchase. The new fish were completely different species from the ones I originally returned, and I actually spent additional money beyond the store credit to buy them, so it felt odd to only hear about this restriction once the transaction was already finished. What made things worse was how long the checkout process took. The employees seemed to struggle with basic math when trying to calculate how much store credit to apply and how much change I was owed after the new purchase. It took several minutes and multiple attempts before they finally figured out the numbers, which made the whole interaction feel unprofessional and awkward. Overall, the experience left me with little confidence in the staff's training and customer service. I understand that new employees need time to learn, but the combination of confusing return explanations, being told important policy details only after paying, and difficulty with simple calculations made the visit frustrating. I hope management invests more in training so future customers don't have to deal with the same issues.

The zoo is a very wide variety of animals from elephants to penguins to lions as well as a cheetah and warthog! They also have a rhino, monkeys and all types of birds. Each exhibit has plenty of viewing area and description placards. My favorite the ocean and plains area. The penguins and rhinos were so awesome to see close up. Overall I'd recommend the zoo to any Indian resident or visitor . They also have plenty of food and drink options including wine and beer.

Morning trips and leaving around nap time. It takes all the pressure off trying to "do it all" in one visit, and honestly makes it so much more enjoyable for everyone. I get asked a lot--doesn't it feel like the same thing every time? Not at all. Every single visit feels different. Some days we feed animals, other days we don't. Sometimes the animals are super active, other days they're just lounging. It really depends on the time of day and even the season. Some visits we catch a show, some days we just wander and explore at our own pace. That's the beauty of a membership--you can go slow, follow your kids' interests, and leave whenever you're ready. It's easily one of our favorite ways to spend a morning

I am possibly looking to get back into the aquarium hobby after 30+ years since I last was into it…read more So I looked up shops in Yelp and The Reef jumped out, especially since I was going to be stopping by Sullivan's Hardware today to pick up something. The place was really busy, but I was able to speak to a very nice young lady named Evelyn (I believe... I'm extremely bad with names, but think that was it. If not Apologies). She really took the time to help me catch up on some of the changes in the hobby and focus in on somethings I think I may like. I have more research to do but will definitely be back when it comes to make some critical decisions and buy some of the key components such as aquarium itself, substrate, filtration, etc. Really appreciate the time she took with me. I'm not an expert to be able to "grade" The Reef like some may be able to, but I can speak to how they treated me today. The Reef seemed to have a depth of products to help someone just starting out at a small scale, to the very experienced hobbyist looking to go to the next level or the advanced aquarium keeper who needs to pick up some specific item. (I took the pics to help me remember some of the items I was looking into but figured they would be good for this review as well)

It had a small black dot on its belly that was there when i got it that i thought was just a marking because it matched the rest of the colors. But when i went to feed it yesterday the spot was green and it was dead! It had been moving around and exploring its tank just fine about an hour earlier and showed no symptoms of anything being wrong. The baby snakes that they had were in tiny plastic containers and i don't remember them having any water. I honestly shouldn't have got a snake from there and just waited until i could find a reliable breeder. Im disappointed in this store and myself for trusting them even after having suspicions about this store. The other animals there were also in smaller than recommended cages and my snake was also underweight. There were several dead fish. And there were some hamsters fighting and none of the workers did anything about it. I truly hope that nobody buys any animal from any uncle bills location because they don't care about their animals or customers and i genuinely hope this entire business is shut down someday.
