If you want to know where the locals go, this is it. Booty's has been an institution for as long as I can remember. The food is served buffet-style and the offerings are Southern home cooking. The star of the show is the fried catfish, which on my recent visit felt like it melted in my mouth. Chicken, country ham tilapia, and Brunswick stew are among other offerings. There are also desserts. My only complaint on our recent visit was that the Brunswick stew was only lukewarm. On the night we visited, there was a bluegrass band for entertainment, but ambiance is sparse. This is a place that you come to eat, not to stare at the walls. We kept seeing the sign every time we went to Bowman. Then we heard that the restaurant closed for a while. Then we heard some new folks bought it. We decided to stop and check it out. It's a buffet, of mostly fried food, seafood. They had some really great green beans, fried okra, fried shrimp, fried fish, Brunswick stew, and biscuits. There were some other things to try, including a couple of cobblers for dessert. there were some nice young ladies, cleaning off the tables and being active in the dining room, which was nice. They were watching to make sure our drinks were filled. The food was hot and good. I'm not sure if they redid the decorations inside, but they have some old Timey things on the walls, kinda like a country place! You do have to wait in line and go through the buffet, but everybody was courteous. It's definitely worth the money. read more

The service was good, kept our drinks filled. The food was ok, nothing seemed to be their specialty or above ordinary, and for the price should have been better, fried foods had an old oil taste. The coleslaw was good. The dessert was without good flavor either mushy or dry. The cooked shrimp was ok but with the shell on it took a lot of time to peel & clean. DOV: Friday, March 31, 2023 @ 5 pm So, apparently Booty's is a southern style Fish House that draws folks from miles around to its all-you-can-eat buffet featuring fried catfish, fried (baby) shrimp, fried flounder pieces, deviled crab, and several sides including fried okra, hushpuppies, slaw, green beans, and french fries. It all starts with a long wait outside for them to open...we got there around 4 pm, and there was a line 30 people deep waiting to get in when they opened at 4:30 pm. Once the place opens, the line moves fairly quick, but then you have another long line to wait in -- the food line, which seemed to take a long time in itself. Finally, however, after a protracted wait in two lines, you get to your table with your food. The food at Booty's was okay, nothing special, if I'm being honest. It is a buffet with almost all fried offerings, all of which were okay, not great. I was among the second wave of folks to make it to the buffet after getting in the restaurant, and already a couple of items were depleted on the bar -- items that were a big part of why people go to Booty's in the first place -- fried baby shrimp and fried flounder pieces -- some of the only seafood offerings they have. I'm sure these items were replenished at some point, but that didn't do me any good...it's not like you can just stand there and hold up the line hoping they will bring those items out soon...I just had to miss out on them. The price for the all-you-can-eat buffet was $15.89 per person -- this was the breaking point for me. I can say without hesitation that I will not be going again. I just don't see paying to eat a bunch of cheap, fried food that leaves me feeling heavy, like I need a nap, especially for that amount of money. It's not like there is anything special here...it's a small buffet with a scant offering of mostly fried food that certain people think is just grand, and will pay $16 a head to go and eat until they waddle out the door. If that's your vibe, then Booty's is the place for you. If not, then you might want to look elsewhere for your dining experience...this place is charming (in a weird sort of way), but overall, it is overrated, and way overpriced for what you get. $16??? Really? I think they are confusing themselves with Red Lobster. I do not recommend Booty's Fish House. Oh, one other note...you can pay $5 extra to get fried oysters brought to your table. I did this, and the oysters were very good...cooked just right, and they brought out five. But, back to reality...the price is now $20.89 (with oyster add-on) -- a number reserved for places with bigger and better buffets. read more

The food was really not what I expected. To even get to the food you had to stand and wait for all of the people ahead of you to decide what they wanted and how much. They should not even have shrimp on the line since all it is really salad shrimp which is at best 160 count. To a person that is used to going to sea food buffet I am used to much larger shrimp. I am not sure if this is the best in this area and if so then you have not eaten at a real sea food buffet. read more

It is a pretty great place to eat, the main complaint is that when they are open they are packed. You'll have a line at the door for when they open bc the community loves it so much. The buffet is good and we always get an order of their fried oysters on top of it. The best part of the whole experience is the ice cream, which is homemade and I can say that it is my favorite out of any I've tried without hesitation. I'm really surprised to read the negative reviews about this place. I've been going to this restaurant since I was a child. I've never been disappointed in the quality of the food. The fried catfish is better any I've ever had. Seafood is my favorite and I've eaten at many restaurants all across the Southeast. There are none that compare to Booty's for fried seafood. The price is very reasonable for what is available on the buffet. I guess there is just no pleasing some folks. read more

For what it is-an all you can eat buffet for $12.99 that is extremely popular with the locals we had some delicious catfish. These are the small 5 inch catfish. They were lightly coated and not greasy at all. Cole slaw was also good as was the special sauce that you request from your waitress for the chicken. The waitresses, staff and even the fellow diners were friendly. Our waitress checked on us throughout our meal. We met a guy in line who eats there weekly and has for 10 years. read more

It's a bit loud, and pretty much everything is fried there. The fact that everything is fried can limit the choices of some guests. What they do have is pretty good. They even have crab cakes, which is my favorite. Their desserts are good, they often have peach cobbler. read more

I am a nice man and don't like to say things that are not kind but I don't make much And I took my parents out for their 38th wedding anniversary and it was a let down. I spent $60 (that was about a days pay) and that is for 3 to eat plus tips. It was so hot that day and they didn't turn the air on till it was time to open. Horrible horrible horrible. Front counter service was extremely rude. Bar was empty at 7:15pm. I couldn't imagine the manager running this business if it were open 7 days a week because the two nights he does manage the place, is too much for him to handle. He needs to learn how to speak to unsatisfied paying customers. Pay $13pp to get extremely disappointed. As a child growing up my grandparents used to take me here and it was great. This place was great. Inexpensive seafood buffet. It is not a fancy restaurant and almost all of the food is fried. So remember that before you go. Staff was super friendly and offered to let us try things that were not on the buffet. I would definitely go back if I were in the area. read more

Went to Bootys got there around 7:20pm. Signed said they closed At 9:00pm. At 7:30 the buffet was empty with catfish, boneless catfish, fried shrimp, deviled crab and no one was refilling it! We waited then we heard waitress at table beside us say you had to order it and they would fixit for you. So we did! The ordered catfish was not good it was mushy and too large. We will not go back! We've ate at Bootys in the past and it was okay. We went this past Saturday and took 2 friends that had never been and it was a disaster. We got there at 7pm. They close at 9. We usually get there at 5. We drove over an hour to get there. We paid for a party of 6. No one ever mentioned they were running low or out of certain items. I had a chicken leg, a dried up biscuit, a piece of ham, some green beans, a hollowed out stuffed clam. No dessert. They were pretty much out of half the stuff on their bar. I asked the girl about the people coming in after us because by this time they were out of everything and she said they tell them what they're out of and the customer makes the choice if they want to pay or not. At 7:30 when we realized they weren't restocking the bar, we asked for fresh biscuits, chicken, country ham, fish, shrimp and grits. Her response was that they make them at the beginning of the night and once they're gone, they're gone. This is an all you can eat buffet! She offered chicken tenders. I can't remember whatelse she offered. The people working were rude. My friend was trying to figure out something to eat and this girl was sweeping all over his feed. Very rude & disresctful. The best place to eat U.S. fried catfish in NE GA and can't beat the prices. The fried food is cooked in canola oil which is great and not greasy. It's a buffet style and kids 6 and under eat free. 100 percent food service rating!! Mom and Pop places are the the best cause its got a down home atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. People come from all over to eat and we don't mind sharing a table if necessary. :) read more
