There were simple designs and sayings for the shop lightening up the mood. Theres not a lot of chairs just because of the location. The guy working was really nice and helpful. Don't even waste your time at this place. It's clear the owner has no regard for customer satisfaction. As a first-timer, I wanted to give them another shot just in case the drink they made was a random poorly made one. I went up to a lady whom I believed to be the owner, and was transparent about the drink I received from them. She looked at me and tried to explain what kind of drink I chose..... As if I didn't know what I ordered??? I told her I knew exactly what I ordered -- an earl grey black milk tea (something I order quite often at other places). It tasted like TAP WATER and I was not happy about it. I understand that the "no exchange policy" is up to the owner's discretion, but how do you expect to sustain a business if you don't show that you care enough to create a drink your customers can actually enjoy? Kokee Tea really played in my face and tried my life a couple of weeks ago. I got an Oreo Slush with extra Oreos (because that's my favorite drink at comparable tea places) but the one I got here was super watery and nasty as hell. Like there was no taste to it. Now I tried to be solution based and asked if I could swap my drink out with something that I may have liked better, to which they responded "No, but you can feel free to buy another drink if you don't like that one." Excuse my language, but be fucking forreal! Why would I want to buy another drink if I didn't like the first one you gave me? I could understand if I was just asking for my money back, but it would not have cost them that much overhead to let me swap out my drink. They were just being cheap and not using a customer-centered model at all. Chile, if you're thinking of visiting this Kokee Tea Location just go to Kung Fu Tea down the street, Tealux in Norfolk, or Jelly Ball, which is also inside the mall. My great niece and I love all the tea shops. This one is particularly great because you guessed it. It is in the LYNNHAVEN Mall. If you are shopping stop by. It is great. Fast service. Not very talkative so I don't know if they are friendly or not. That's the reason why I decided to deduct one star. It looks very clean and they have some cafe seating close by. I didn't love this place, I honestly didn't really like them either. It's also very expensive if I'm being honest. I tried a sweet cloud green tea. I asked for crystal boba, the woman repeated crystal boba, and somehow I ended up with peach boba. I didn't really get a green tea flavor at all, and I thought the peach boba would have been chewable, but they were more like popping pearls. The pearls weren't horrible and I feel like they were the only source of flavor in the entire drink. The staff today were nice, but I wouldn't recommend the tea. I was super thirsty after a long day and was looking for a refresher and stopped by this place, the girl at the front was being very rude, it might have been her last few hours on shift but I was about to leave in the middle of ordering because she was so rude and she quickly changed her attitude when she noticed it made me make a questionable face. So I'm going to be honest here, I think Kokee Tea is lacking something. If you're in the mall and craving boba, it hits the spot. But I honestly feel there are other boba places with more options and better quality. The flavor seemed a little watered down. I got the passion fruit drink with 75% sugar and less ice. I felt like there was no change in ice when I got my drink. I have tried other drinks there in the past and have felt the same about their flavor. The passion fruit flavor was really good, I just wish the tea part matched it. I loved the fruit slices in the cup giving it a fresh vibe. Sooo good. I go here with my friends/family almost every time I visit Lynnhaven Mall. It always hits the spot. The drinks always come out quickly. I have never had a problem. I have not yet tried the snacks they offer, maybe I should sometime. This time, I had a day with my siblings, and I got Mango Passionfruit Tea with Peach Boba. Yum. This one is my favorite to order, and I love the popping boba they have. My sister got Coffee Milk Tea with coffee jelly. The jelly comes in cubes!! To me it's a funny texture, but she liked it a lot. My brother got a Matcha Latte with honey boba. That's his usual order and he loves it. So, there was a page for this location with several reviews and photos already but now it's gone. I don't know why it was deleted, but I'm writing a review again. These teas are not cheap - $5 at least. One size, which is pretty big. But it's a fun treat if you're at the mall and they have loads of flavors and options. You can even customize your mix-ins like boba or jellies. You can also customize your sweetness milk like organic, soy, almond, coconut, etc. My favorite is Peach on Peach from their signature list. Peach oolong with peach boba - but they're boba bubbles filled with peach juice. It's light and refreshing. It's sweet but not overpowering. Perfect for summer! Staff are really sweet and friendly. They also have some snacks in a glass display case to the side. Macaroons and some cake slices. Noms! read more

KYARAH Y was so understanding and kind!!! I ordered three drinks for my daughters and myself and did not specify they were blended while ordering. However, i was not asked as well by the female cashier. There was two girls there that were very frustrated me when I said they were supposed to be blended and that my daughters and I don't care for tea as much with one saying "you didn't say you wanted it that way" (the cashier) and the other one snatching them up while rolling her eyes to take them to the back while voicing her frustrations at kyarah. kyarah kept a calm demeanor and explained that in the future it needs to be specified that I would want our drinks to be blended. Not the best tea I've had, but hey, it's boba. I've had kokee tea in Richmond and this place doesn't really compare. I ordered my drink less ice and it was watered down. I ordered the taro milk tea with less ice and 50% less sugar. It was just as sweet as my cousin's taro milk tea, who ordered normal sugar. In summary, the drinks aren't very consistent here. And they start around $5 per tea. They also sell mochi and macarons here for $3 each. I would avoid them. read more

What a disaster! Three out of four staff members could not figure out how to give a woman correct cash change. Yuck! First, if you're new to this boba tea thing, the billboard Kokee Tea posts for those in line shows the tapicoa pearls in every "tea" option. BUT apparently, and not indicated on the billboard, you have to pay extra to get it. My daughter had gotten the strawberry milk tea with friends and was excited to share the experience with me so she took me after we went shopping. She ordered the strawberry tea, just like it said on the billboard. The young man asked if we wanted toppings. We said no. First, the pearls are included in the picture and second, they're at the BOTTOM. They definitely aren't "toppings". So when we were given our order and saw that there were no pearls, we asked why. The young man parrotted "I asked if you wanted toppings!" about five times to us. We ended up paying 75 cents to get the pearls. What we got was barely cold strawberry milk with disgusting tasting perls. It was so gross we threw it out. It was definitely not the same experience that my daughter had a few months back. Went pass this place one time and saw a long line so today I had to try this place out, and totally disappointed. The customer service is great but the "tea" that I ordered is straight water. I asked for 25% sweetness for both my mom and my House Milk tea and both tasted like 15% sweetness, 5% tea, 20% milk and 10000% water. I have never evenr had a boba tea tasted that bad, it tasted like the last couple slip of your drink because it had been sat there for too long and the ice melted so the drink tasted like water, but the issue is I JUST STARTED DRINKING IT. There's only 1 size available so I couldn't get a smaller one to try it, and the House Milk Tea I got was $5 with some change. Totally a rip off, if I want water I'd get a 24 pack water at a grocery store for $2.50. read more

I love that there is a Boba Tea option at the mall now! Yay! Okay, so this review is just for the drink that I ordered today. I got the Avocado Slush and upon first sip, immediately did not expect the "chalky" (powdered) taste. I LOVE me some avocado and it was my bad not confirming if there was real avocados in it. It tasted too artificial. I tried to like it but I couldn't and felt the urge to return and ask for a different drink, especially since there was no line. At first, it was totally awkward having to explain my distaste and asked if they use powder or real avocados. A young man explained they used real avocados that were just sliced this morning and add sugar. I had about 4 or 5 employees listening to my dilemma as I asked if I could change my drink. Finally, the manager (I think) came and offered to have them make a new avocado slush with less sugar to which I was grateful. When an establishment listens and understands that they can, and will do, the right thing to please a customer to remedy a situation...that is definitely a place I will return to and give another try. I do have to mention that had the manager not have been there to step up, I'm pretty sure I would've walked away very unhappy. For his great customer service, I give 5 stars :) Back to the drink. So I got the same drink, with half the sugar they normally add. I watch them make it, and notice they had several scoops of powder (yup...I knew it) to the blender. I dont remember seeing them add a real avocado, but maybe they did when they stepped to the back of the house. Idk. When I taste my newly made drink, it still tastes "chalky". So I made sure to ask the manager what the powder they added was. He wasn't sure, had to double check and finally replied with what I knew all along. They indeed add avocado powder!!!! He made sure to say they added half an avocado to it as well. Lol. I definitely will NOT order this particular drink again, but I am open to coming back and trying something new. read more

Honestly super yummy tea and boba! Thai tea always taste fresh and creamy. Customer service is always off though. Not polite but not rude either.
