First time visiting this location. We were Black Friday shopping and my daughter wanted ramen or sushi and we found this gem just beside the Lynnhaven mall. We got takoyaki and the sushi burrito to share, and she got the ramen and I got the pork udon. First of all you order at the kiosks and they are very easy to follow. I will say I'd prefer to talk to someone about how to order if I wasn't already super familiar with the types of food they carry. The tables were mostly full. There were only a handful of spots to sit. I will say, the entire store was a little disheveled. There are drinks on palettes in the middle of the floor, the tables were a little dirty. You clean up after yourself when you are done eating, so I'm not sure how often someone comes through and wipes them down. Other than that, everything was fine and the food was delicious. This is for a delivery order, and I will caveat the review by saying we ordered not too long before closing time (not that that's any excuse). Several different sushi rolls, the cucumber salad, and the miso soup were ordered. None of the sushi tasted super fresh. The salmon was very pale and limp. The spicy tuna was bland. The other rolls were concealed in so much sauce and dressing it was hard to judge. Nothing was very satisfying. I've had better sushi from a gas station. The cucumber salad was cut differently than pictured and tasted like it had been refrigerated quite a while. The miso soup was acceptable. If you're looking for serious sushi, this is not the place. They have a lot of very complicated rolls, but fail at the simple rolls where quality can't be hidden. The sushi menu is very limited as well. Only when you order electronically can you see all the options you really have. My mission was BOBA tea and all my niece could tell me is, "it's the orange one, with tapioca pearls and mango pearls." Overpriced for what they sell, and it's not particularly great either. In my two times here, I've had their ramen, their rice & curry, their tempura sushi, and a mango smoothie. In one order, I had their sushi, curry, and a smoothie, which totaled to 30 bucks and didn't even fill me up. The size of their curry, which was about as plain as curry could get in terms of flavor, was sad and didn't even fill the whole plate. Their tempura shrimp sushi was pretty good, but you could get that at a store and be the same quality and maybe even cheaper. The ramen was really plain, even ramen from a packet at walmart has better broth and that comes from a packet of powder, the noodles were mediocre, and for some reason, they had a whole bunch of lima beans and corn in there, which really doesn't work. The smoothie was fine, would rather get it at a tropical smoothie. All in all, I think those two times will be my last. I would recommend domoishi instead. read more

I came out of my way over here because the prices looked more reasonable than most of the poke out here, it says 10.99 for a poke bowl w 2 proteins but it's actually $17. you have to add each protein which is $3 each. I guess the manager upped the prices and hasn't changed the menu. But anyway. the poke itself isn't bad. The sauces are pretty much flavored sugar, the "sweet onions" are just sliced red onion. They don't mix the proteins with the sauce like most poke places, rather they just top the bowls with them. The cilantro is very stemmy, had to pick quite a few out of my mouth lol. The fish is not the freshest tasting? like it's not bad it's just not particularly good either. also, and this part is gonna make me sound like an asshole, their order kiosk makes it very hard to not tip. i had to press like 6 buttons to try to figure out how to not tip on my $20 bowl that I took the order for for myself. But! The dude gave me a free iced tea for some reason, which again was just a cup of sugar but I appreciated it! Real orange slices in it, that's a nice touch. read more

Molly was really just a convenient spot, carrying tea, sushi, poke, ramen, and lots of appetizers. It's a good spot to get everything in one place. However, this place need some work in all aspects - service, food quality, and environment. All of the ordering is done through the kiosks, which I kind of like... but it is difficult to get the staff's attention when you need help with something. For example, we wanted a to-go box, but had to try a few times. So sub-par service.. The food is hit-or-miss, which I will describe later... The interior is pretty cute and comfy, and there are board games to play. However, the bathrooms were not very clean at all. My friend ordered a bunch of sushi rolls - the Evil Mind Roll, Volcano Roll, and the Philadelphia Roll - pork gyoza, and a Brown Sugar Dirty Tea. I warned him 3 sushi rolls is too much, but he wanted them all anyway. He, of course, didn't finish them and ended up taking some home. He did sample them all and enjoy them. He isn't picky when it comes to sushi. I am, but I didn't want to try most of what he ordered because I don't like cream cheese. Anyway, he liked the gyoza too. No complaints from him. I got a Volcano Roll, Shrimp Shumai, and Takoyaki with a Mango Fun Time green tea. The Volcano roll is decent. It could have been fresher. I liked the shumai with the dipping sauce they provided. They had good-sized pieces of shrimp inside. But the takoyaki was just not it. They were soggy and not fresh. They tasted okay, but you can just tell they weren't fresh. My tea was good, however. They have lots of add-in options, and the green tea flavor was there. I liked it. I don't know if I really recommend this place. Domoishi is probably better - I think there's one by the TCC VA Beach campus, on S Independence Blvd. read more

Probably my favorite place for poke lately. I like the ease of the tablet kiosk, I like how it has an endless amount of options. I surprisingly really like their side of miso broth, it came as such a big portion for a side. The fish in the poke is pretty good quality and they give so much portion size. I really enjoy the mango green tea with mango jelly, I usually get it less sweet. Their wings were okay, nothing too special about them. Their prices are very reasonable in my opinion. We were attracted to this restaurant because of all of the five star glowing reviews. We've also been sampling Ramen and Poke in the area for the last few months so we were intrigued . The restaurant is simple and impeccably clean with kiosks to order a custom Poke or Ramen dishes. It is very efficient. Overall, we found the quality of the ingredients to be excellent. The raw fish in the Poke bowl was wonderfully fresh. For the Ramen, the chicken broth, chicken pieces and even the noodles were first rate.I found the Ramen chicken broth very homey. At other poke establishments, usually there are suggested combinations which show the ingenuity or talent of of the restaurant. But this restaurant you had to build your own Poke Bowl which is fine but I find it helpful to have some suggestions of possible mixtures of ingredients. We had experience with combinations so this wasn't a problem. Unfortunately there was nothing inspired about the seasonings and ingredients on the Poke or on the Ramen. My wife found the creamy teriyaki-sesame dressing on the Poke bowl bland and disappointing. Overall everything tasted bland to us. I don't believe you need to specify spicy for a dish to be flavorful. Also, this restaurant is more pricey than most so you would expect something extra, something of value. The Poke bowl was overwhelmed by a big pile of rice accompanied by a not so generous selection of ingredients. The chicken slices in the Ramen bowl were tender and delicious but the other ingredients were few and far between. Unfortunately, I think you can get a lot better value, inspiration and flavor elsewhere. That said, they gave us a free, serving of a garlic chicken appetizer which was sweet and delicious (but there was no garlic taste to be found!). A nice perk. Nice poke spot! Friendly staff. The owner offered us free drinks with our meal. My boyfriend got the Sushi Burrito which was much bigger than others we have tried in the area. My bowl was fresh and filled with a very good portion of protein and toppings! I ordered half salad / half rice base with tuna and salmon. Food came out very quickly. I ordered Molly one time through Door Dash when I was craving poke. I had a rather simple order; large poke with salmon and spicy salmon, ponzu and eel sauce, seaweed salad, sesame seeds and a base of brown rice and an order of takoyaki. And when my order arrived, the base turned out to be white rice. Definitely not what I asked for. I don't know if they ran out of brown rice or never had it available..but it would've been nice if they fixed it on the Door Dash app.. How come other spots like Poketastic can update on the Door Dash app what's available and what's not available on their menu? Surely I imagine it's not difficult, so your customers can make the right selections with accurate information. Besides that, the salmon didn't taste very fresh and the pieces of fish were all in irregular sizes. Believe it or not, not cutting the fish in uniform shapes and sizes..that actually greatly affects your overall eating experience. The one highlight of this order was the takoyaki. They tasted really good and had nice large chunks of diced octopus inside. I don't see myself ordering poke from Molly ever again. I think I'll stick with Poketastic. read more

This location had $1.99 Milk Tea specials on Wednesdays so this was an opportunity to try it out. When you walk in, you place your order on a tablet. It's very user friendly and it allows you to customize your order. I was with my family that included kids so we customized their drinks to no sugar for them. Since we knew it was going to take a while to get our order, we played some board games in the waiting area that was provided. The restaurant is spacious and clean. They offer poke bowls where you can see the toppings you want through the glass (think of Subways) as well as Ramen bowls. I noticed it was one guy making the drinks as well helping customers at the counter. They seemed to be understaffed but hey we are chilling so really no rush. Finally our drinks are ready! Sooo.... this is where it went downhill. Our drinks were all mixed up! The label that said NO sugar definitely had it. The label with the taro drink had the mocha drink in it and etc. The boba amount was very stingy that one of the drinks had literally 5 boba pieces in it. Because my 2 year old niece don't need any sugar as requested, we asked if they can remake it because it was too sweet. Even at their mistake they made us pay for a new drink. The guy was going to remake it for free but the other staff lady maybe the "owner" said something in their language and said we would need to pay...sheeesh horrible customer service at its finest! At $1.99 that is what it's really worth. It tasted like flavored milk, no strong tea notes, bubbles were a little too hard, and just overall not good so I'm glad we didn't pay the full amount. My sister went back the next week with her kids and their friends and the Wednesday special is now $2.99, maybe due their popularity. This was our first time. I will have to try this place agian and Hopefully the rating will increase. I like the IDEA, but the staff need to interact and the food needs to be FRESH. It is a different way of ording. You have to read alot of instruction, choose different options and basically create your own bowl. We did not know what we were doing. There wasn't any customers in the entire place. So we took our time. The 2 employees never said much to us. So we had to figure it out for ourselves. I did like that they had cooked chicken as a meat option. My great niece is 10 so the Poke bowl was good for us as we never had a Poke bowl. EVER. I read about all the Poke bowl places. So I decided to try them all in my area. My husband asked about the drinks in the refridgerated case and the employee seemed clueless. So he pointed and asked if this was the one he ordered. Alot of head nodding from the employee. Like I said I will give this place a 3. Staff was not helpful and they could tell we definitely did not know what we were doing. All 3 of us looked confused. Improvement! I tried this location when it was a different brand of ramen/poke/tea. It had some branding inconsistencies which made the menu confusing. The food was just okay. 2.5-3 star experience... but definitely in a convenient location. I've ordered delivery a few times and recently visited the location in person for the first time since the switch to "Molly." They fixed the branding confusion and now everything is clean and easy to follow. They have kiosks set up so you can order on a screen instead of waiting in line at the register. The prompts allow you to customize your items pretty well. I think you can still order at the register if screens aren't your thing. The poke I have ordered from here has all been great! They have a variety of proteins and I think the price is reasonable. This is my go-to for delivery. I haven't tried their ramen or hot apps yet. I have also gotten their boba tea a few times. I think I've tried 3-4 different kinds from Molly without complaint. It tastes the same as it did before the brand name change. You can customize your sweetness level which is definitely nice. It is definitely improving as a solid fast-casual poke/ramen spot. read more

Our first time here and pretty pleasantly surprised. The poke bowls were huge. The smoked salmon was amazing- flaky and moist. Only downfall was that the self service menu was not up to date with what they had. Also I ordered my kid the chicken ramen and on the self serve menu it shows it with bean sprouts , egg, cilantro and a couple other things. My favorite poke place for lunch! This location is so close to my work and with my tight lunch schedule I always need something reliable to pick up and go so I can eat and get back to work in time. This place used to be named Yamayama Ramen and apparently they underwent a management and name change. The menu seems to not have changed as well. It still is a pretty decent spot for ramen, poke, and boba tea. The inside is nicely decorated and clean. They switched the ordering style like Wawa where you order on a screen and pick up your order. It is pretty convenient and the wait time isn't too bad. The employees are friendly and focused on their work to provide good poke bowls and boba tea. I ordered the chicken katsu ramen with tonkotsu broth. We also ordered a shrimp poke bowl and various appetizers. The ramen is pretty decent for the price and it came out hot. The chicken katsu came separate which I appreciate because it will not get soggy in the soup. The shrimp poke bowl was well done and flavorful.
