Absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. The experience was top tier before we even walked in, they were super responsive when I DM'd them on Instagram to book our reservation. From the moment we sat down at the bar, the host was on top of our water and drinks the entire night, right up until we left. Our sushi chef, Zac, was amazing. He walked us through the options, asked what we liked, and was just genuinely friendly and welcoming the whole time. The owner, Daniel, was working behind the sushi bar right alongside him, and he's an all around great guy, we had a wonderful conversation with both of them. Even one of the servers (also named Zac!), who wasn't even ours, stopped to chat and was so nice. And the food, top tier across the board. I got the sushi flight, which was incredible, and my husband got the steak frites and the wasabi Caesar salad. We paired it with the sake flight, which was the perfect touch. Every bite and every detail was on point. This was an amazing dinner and an amazing experience from beginning to end. We can't recommend Koko enough and truly can't wait to go back. read more

I went twice within one week! The 8 piece Nigiri was my favorite overall. It's what you get if you can't get a reservation for omakase! Everything Everywhere All at Once was good. The soy foam was fun to watch. The Shrimp Toast and Gambas were both a little salty, but still good! The Koko flight and Matcha Tres Leches were great additions to our meal. My second visit we got Hokkaido Scallop Crudo, Wagyu, Crispy Mushroom nuggets, and Seafood Ramen. All were equally good. We ordered dessert from Koba: Pineapple Sundae & Oolong Tea. A group of us came for brunch on Saturday morning here and it was fantastic. Literally everything on the menu was tried by someone in our group and it was all incredible. One of the best restaurants my fiancé and I have ever been to! We are on vacation from Pittsburgh and happened to pick this spot to celebrate our engagement. The service was phenomenal and our server's (Chelsea) recommendations were perfect! We had two shareables and two rolls and found it hard to pick a favorite, as each dish was phenomenal! The place is small, in an old gas station but make no mistake... this is fine dining. Chef Daniel Joseph Penovich (formerly of Michelin starred 'Kadence' in Winter Park) uses that to his advantage. It's tastefully decorated and stimulates conversation. The size allows him to work every table and talk to every one of his patrons. The food is really really good. 5-Stars - We'll be back! We just got off a 7 day Disney cruise and had a couple days in Cocoa Beach to explore before flying home. Our family was craving some Japanese food and we found Koko Japanese Pub on Yelp. So glad we found this place. It was only a quick 10 minute drive from our hotel. We loved all the Japanese fusion dishes! If you are looking for a legit Japanese restaurant in Cocoa Beach we definitely recommend this place. The foie gras, crab and eel sushi roll was tasty and delicious. We loved the Wagyu skewers, Hamachi Kama (chili sauce flavor), Nasi Goreng and Shio Ramen. The ramen was the best comfort food and we ended getting two bowls. Our son had passed out from a long day at the beach and the staff there was kind enough to give us one of their booth tables. Our son was able to nap a bit in the booth before waking up when the food arrived. Thanks for all the awesome staff and servers who took such good care of us. Much appreciated! We also enjoyed meeting and chatting with Chef Daniel the owner of Koko Japanese Pub. He's a great guy and has spent time honing his chef skills at amazing restaurant all over the country. What an experience!!! very small venue but the ambiance is so perfect and authentic so be prepared this is not for large groups but totally obsessed. Food is my passion and this didn't disappoint. We got there for their brunch at 10 on a Saturday when they opened, and were sat immediately. My husband and I shared everything; the eggs over Zeezy...... who knew just two eggs could make me want to die and go to heaven right there, the American roll was also out of this world the wagyu was so perfectly cooked it was like butter. And the jiggly pancake...... don't walk, run there for one of these right now, banana fosters style, I could've eaten 10! I've never experienced something like that and it was god on a plate! Don't you dare complain about the wait for it, they put it right on the menu that it takes a long time and perfection really does, it is worth the wait!!! We had family visiting from out of town who were craving sushi, and we immediately knew exactly where to take them. If you're trying to impress guests, or trying to convince them to move here, this is the spot!! The seafood is next level. We started with one of our favorites, the rock shrimp toast along with something new, gambas al Japan (aka DELICIOUS shrimp)! For my dish, I ordered the American roll and it was phenomenal, I will 100% order again! My brother-in-law ordered a bluefin tasting along with the smoked hamachi, and it was nearly impossible to pick a favorite. My sister-in-law got the curry, and the sauce was so good it was practically drinkable. My husband stuck with his usual, the wagyu steak sandwich, which never disappoints. You truly can't go wrong with that dish. We finished with the oolong tea crème brûlée, which was incredible, and the oolong jam was such a unique and delicious surprise. We sat at the bar and had the chance to learn more about Daniel's cuisines, he is so knowledgeable, approachable, and clearly passionate about what he does. It's not just lunch; it's the "Bento Lunchable", and it's perfect-- a box of sushi, salad, dessert, and your main event (the SANDO). I went straight for the Spicy Chicken Sando and was blown away. We started with the salad and KoFC karaage fried chicken with roasted garlic aioli and black garlic bbq. So good! My wife got the Nasi Goreng fried rice, shrimp and scallops, kimchi yuzu sauce, basil, mint, cilantro, tamago and my main course was the Shio Ramen traditional broth, pork belly chashu, smoked tomato, onsen tamago, both very generous portions. I emailed ahead and talked to Chef Daniel about a reservation. I proposed to my now fiancé and hour prior to dinner and Daniel setup our own Omakase just for us! They were very nice and accommodating to celebrate our engagement! We got food options with the omakase we wouldn't normally order alone and every one was AMAZING! The wasabi Caesar salad, shrimp bread, tuna platter, and yuzu pie. 10/10!! I just had dinner at Koko. What a great addition to Brevard! The Restaurant is on the smaller side, with two tables that can seat a party of 6-7. The other side has high-tops that look out to the Street. That's where we sat, but it can feel crowded, so your best bet is to sit on the low-top counter. (See pictures.) The decor is lovely and unique, with a more minimalist look and touches of Japanese culture, including cool movie/anime posters. The service was excellent. I loved that they box your leftover niceties, which are often skipped these days. On my way out, I was taking a picture of the sign, and one of the employees offered to take a picture of us. This was another nice touch of service. Now, the most important part is the food. It's pricer than Brevard is used to, but you're paying for hand-crafted, quality ingredients. My husband and I paid $134 for the bill. Shio ramen- Great, a generous portion of pork. Comes with a soft-boiled egg. Surf & Turf miso ramen - Delicious, the hollandaise was a unique touch that makes the ramen nice and creamy. I preferred the Shio ramen. The lobster was CRAZY good. Bluefin tuna roll--Hands down, this is the best thing on the menu; it is so fresh! Matcha Tres Leche is not super sweet, and I wish the matcha taste was more substantial but still tasty and very light, which is nice after ramen. Yuzu Pie- is thicker and a lot sweeter on the heavier side. I liked this one a bit more. Overall, this is a great spot for date night. Go earlier for a seat, and I believe they make a Japanese bento box breakfast on Saturdays. I'm excited to see what the future holds for them. Also, there is a great story about the owner. Authentic Japanese dining experience. I've been craving the small dining feel since visiting Japan and felt transported back to some of my favorite spots there as soon as we stepped through the doors to Koko. The decor was perfect, a bit rustic, and incorporated traditional and modern Japanese culture. The menu was small, but varied enough to try new things with old comforts as a fallback. Our server was attentive and walked us through with recommendations. I ended up sticking to the basics with the Shio Ramen. The broth was flavorful, and the pickled mushrooms were the best surprise for me in this dish. Not pictured, but ordered - the Chirashi Bowl - which was well packed with fresh seafood. As a Cocoa Beach native, Koko has been on my "to-go" since they began renovations on the building. It was well worth the wait from all perspectives and far exceeded expectations.
