Koko Wings - Upper West Side (106th St) Stumbled upon this tiny, cozy spot today while wandering on 106th & Broadway. First time inside, and I loved it! The staff was super friendly--she even brought me soup and water while I waited. The miso was perfect! Ordered the lunch special--6 wings and rice--and also took home 14 wings (drumettes and flats). The wings? Crispy, salty, and so good I dipped them in ranch for the first time ever--game changer. The inside was tender, and the crispy exterior was . The rice was warm and fluffy, and the dark chopsticks were a cool touch. Definitely coming back to try their spicy hot barbecue! Great solo lunch spot--highly recommend. 5 stars from me!

Chicken Strips with Soy/Garlic Sauce and Brown Rice So delicious!

I needed to grab some lunch and so I figured why not walking in the neighborhood over to Koko wings. I really enjoy Korean fried chicken and so I ordered the chicken strips with soy and garlic sauce. I must say that it was so delicious. The chicken was perfectly fried. Not all hard and petrified.. And the flavor was amazing. I had that along with some brown rice. The staff was very nice, kind and accommodating. As far as the ambience, it's a small eatery with about five or six tables. They have some cool K-pop playing in the background at a comfortable level. When I think of Korean fried chicken, I think of K-Town downtown in Manhattan. But I am so glad that we have this great option on the Upper West Side . I no longer have to go downtown for my KFC! So if you're looking for some great Korean fried chicken on the Upper West Side, this is your go to spot! Thank me later Have a great one y'all ! -Ray

A standard hole in the wall fried chicken joint. It's good for students and people looking to grab a quick bite. The staff were kind but seemed to forget about our presence a few times while we were there. Everything at the restaurant was a bit sticky (menus, floors, tables, etc.), but perhaps part of this was because we took over another party's table before someone was able to step in and clean the area. The food itself was alright. The soy garlic sauce was sweet but not overly sweet. The spicy chicken wasn't very spicy but still enjoyable. The rice that I got as a side was the perfect consistency--sticky and not dry. The parmesan fries were disappointing; they were far too salty and should likely have been served with ketchup. We were given bowls of miso soup on the side--loved the soup. I may come back here again, but I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone looking for a standout fried chicken place.

The best wings known to man! I'm a full supporter of Kiko wings! I am so glad to had been introduced to this restaurant and I look forward to continuing to get my wings from here!

Holy crap. This place is delicious. I've never had better fried chicken. I like to get half soy and half original and I like the strips because you don't deal with bones. It came with a small miso soup and a side. I got the kimchi coleslaw which is 10/10. Don't miss out on that. The radish is also good. The mango sauce is bomb. And the price is so fair. Thank you koko wings for feeding me so well! I love you.

3/5 Pros: Very very sweet service. The man that took our order was really attentive and they were also super busy with to go orders. Cone; The food was a little bit salty. The stone hot bibimbap was not burnt on the bottom which is really the point of having a stone hot bibimbap. was disappointed w that. The meat in this was also kind of chewy which I didn't love The seafood pancake was really really crispy on the bottom, the flavor was kind of lacking. The japchae was very oily as well. Good service decent korean food. Kind of meant for a fast eat to fill up your stomach!

Came here on a rainy day...the restaurant is very quaint and cozy! Honestly, I think this place is underrated when it comes to Korean Fried Chicken. We ordered the half and half combo with soy garlic and hot and spicy (some wings/some drumsticks). The crunch factor was unreal and the soy garlic sauce was heavenly for me (just wished there was a little more sauce on the wings). The hot and spicy was also good but be ready for some real spice. The wings were not greasy at all which I really appreciated. Definitely do NOT forget to get the kimchi coleslaw - it was perfection! Overall, it was not the best fried chicken I've had in NYC, but definitely a good one time visit!

Oh my. Im writing this review as im eating the food I just got. (Takeout.) I'm so so disappointed. This place is good for wings and that's it. Every time I've ordered other actual dishes, I've had negative experiences. Today I gave it a try again since it's been awhile and ordered tofu stew alongside my chicken combo which i normally order. I rarely say this about places using extreme words but this is just disgusting. The soup is watery, has no flavor and the vegetables are nearly raw! They literally just threw everything in here carelessly. This is offensive to be listed as a Korean food. My hope is that people try this place and NOT assume this is what Korean food is supposed to taste like. I think they need to take these less than mediocre dishes off their menu and just focus on the wings. The wings are flavorful and good, although over the years I've noticed the meat sizes have gotten significantly smaller.... Not sure if I'll order here again.

I like this korean chicken spot after walking in the neighborhood or spending time in the park. Usually not crowded, good wings, good service & reasonable priced. A good option when craving korean food in Morningside heights

I came with my brother for dinner and ordered their hot spicy and soy garlic wings and drums. We loved how crispy the skin was and how tender and juicy the chicken was. We also had their jalapeño poppers filled with cream cheese and their cheese balls. The cheese balls was kind of sweet and tasted like dessert but in a good way. They have some new drinks such as their mocktail Mango lovers which we both really enjoy and in the Halloween sprite they have Bloody soju. Staff was attentive and friendly. Definitely come and check them out.

We got the Cucumber Health Salad (cucumber, cabbage, dill, carrot) and the Sautéed Kale (capers, dill, mustard). And also a smaller side of the Mac and Cheese. Ended up getting two sauces as well, the Salsa Verde and White BBQ. I would get this exact order again. One order was enough food to feed both of us for lunch and then some. The chicken is delicious, with and without sauce. Of the two, I liked the salsa verde especially. Bright and acidic. The two veggie sides really hit the spot! Between the cold crunchy cucumber salad and the hot kale, the combo of flavors and textures was great. They truly stuffed the to go container with mac and cheese as well, and this added an extra fun element to the meal! Not sure the mix of cheeses in this, but it's delicious, and pasta nice and al dente. Excellent lunch! Friendly and attentive counter service, and very fast to get us our food and on our way. Cute interior and would be nice to eat in as well, but perhaps not in larger groups.

I had no idea this place was a chain until we sat down and saw the other locations on the placemats! My cousin and I came here last night (a Sunday) around 6:30 for a comforting bite. There weren't too many people here, so we were seated right away. A few servers interchanged and took our order, refilled our tea, and took our requests with easy smiles. SGD's main attraction is their tofu stew - a customizable soup that comes serves in a literal cauldron. Being that this was SGD's specialty, we knew we had to try. I opted for the spicy beef tofu stew with hot stone rice - it came piping hot, and continued to boil for a good 15 minutes before it became drinkable. The stew has a lovely flavor and was brimming with silky tofu. The beef was a little on the skimpy side - I would have liked more, but it was still tasty. I also would have liked to have seen some mix-ins be offered with the soup - such as sesame oil, green onions, etc. - to really make the flavors pop. However, it was tasty for what it was. The addition of a fresh cracked egg and the various pickled vegetables on the side really made the meal memorable. In addition, we ordered chicken bulgogi and it was absolutely fabulous - I actually liked it better than the soup and will definitely be back here to try. This is a no-frills space for good Korean food. I can't wait to go back!
