Kylun Scott was amazing from start to finish. From our first conversation, he responded to my text messages very quickly, answered every question I had, and provided all the information about the car, including the vehicle history and reports. He was knowledgeable, professional, and never made me feel pressured. He even brought the car from Kokomo to Indianapolis so I could take a quick 10-minute test drive before driving it back. That level of customer service was the first sign that this dealership truly values its customers. After comparing the other local options, I decided this was the best car for me. I made the trip to Kokomo, and the team had all of my paperwork prepared in about two hours, making the buying process smooth and efficient. One suggestion for future buyers: if possible, bring a cashier's check instead of a large amount of cash. I ran into a minor inconvenience during the cash verification process. Also, I want to clarify that Kylun was **not** the person who sold me the tire and wheel insurance. That was handled by another supervising agent during the finance process. Based on my experience afterward, I would recommend carefully considering whether you need that coverage. I've called several repair shops around Indianapolis, and none of them accept this particular tire and wheel insurance, so it hasn't been useful for me. Overall, this was a great dealership experience during a stressful time. Kylun Scott went above and beyond, and I highly recommend asking for him if you're shopping for a vehicle. The only downside for me is that the dealership is about an hour away from where I live, so I'll probably have my routine maintenance done closer to home. Went to Kokomo Auto World with a preapproval from Capital One to purchase a new vehicle. We were told the vehicle we were interested in was being used as the shuttle and eventually took it for a test drive. We decided we wanted to purchase the 2024 Honda Odyssey. Took another three hours to get down to how much the payment would be, explain MULTIPLE times that we did NOT want the extended warranty and that we were, at that point, short on time. We ended up haggling over less than $1000 and asked for a rim to be repaired as well as a knick that was out of the dash. After three times going back and forth with our offer, the person that our sales guy kept talking to agree to our original terms after we threatened to walk. Another 20-minute wait for the finance manager to come out and again explain the options of the extended warranty, where we again said we were in a rush and that we just needed to get going with the purchase. Salesman gave us two options, said he could deliver the car to us next day and we could come back in the future to repair rim and dash, or they could hold on to it and it would be done on Wednesday. We agreed to let them hold on to it until Wednesday and expressed that we were pressed for time and Wednesday would fit our schedule. Wednesday rolls around and we hear nothing. So, at around 3 PM we call and are given the run around about being able to speak to someone who knows what's going on. Finally, speak to our sales guy, Travis, and are told they took the tire to repair and has not yet been returned. We advised that we are on the way and will take the spare if need be since we have already canceled our insurance on this current vehicle and it is now owned by the dealership. We get there and Travis went to get Nick from financing who told us that they were not be able to deliver the vehicle to us today because they cannot deliver with a spare tire. I understood that and suggested that they contact the person who took the tire to see when he would be delivering the tire back so that we can take the vehicle. Nick explained again that he would not be delivering the car today. I explained that we would be out of town on Thursday and Friday and are unable to get the van, which is why we opted to get everything done and have it delivered today. There never was a Thursday option mentioned, or we would have taken the van as is and figured out a time to bring in back. Nick sat smugly and said basically he didn't have any solution for us except he could deliver the van tomorrow, to which I explained that I would have the trade in WITH ME in another city, so not sure how that could happen. We asked his manager's name to which he responded, "there's a lot of managers here". I asked for the highest manager's name, to which he responded, "Greg" and asked me to sit down while he went to get him. I said that we were leaving, but could I have his last name, and Nick turned his back and walked away. I asked again and he didn't respond and kept walking. This dealership is the most unprofessional dealership I have ever dealt with. I cannot imagine having any kind of service done by them and I will certainly NEVER purchase another vehicle from here. read more

09/29/2023 UPDATE: Received a response from "owner" saying they would look into my situation and get back to me. Going along with their lack of care and follow-thru, this is now over a month and I have heard ZERO from them! This is to be expected from 2nd rate dealerships where the main priority is revenue at all costs. BEWARE...Dealership verbally offers things and doesn't follow through. It's the best way to do it since there is no proof of offers extended to customers. I drove 10 hours round trip to purchase a car. Was given the run-a-round for over 1 month with "out of state" paperwork and them giving me a copy of the Carfax. In finance the guy told me he wasn't very familiar with out of state deals, go figure! Most recently I was dealing with Andy the used car manager and now waiting on one of the things I was promised (14.00 touch up paint) going on seven weeks now. Was also offered NEW floor mats, which I never got! I've been lied to and played by this dealership. Maybe because I'm far enough out of state for them to provide after purchase customer service. Had car (2012 Prius) in for multiple warning lights and service hybrid system warning. Initial visit was a flash update per recall for inverter. Lights/warnings came back. Second time they couldn't find anything. Third time they found an additional code for a misfire and said that had to be corrected before they could diagnose the other problem, so we had them fix it (intake manifold replacement). Lights/warning came back. Then they charged the battery and said if it happened again, it was because the battery wasn't a Toyota battery (Napa Legend). Lights/Warning came back. I replaced the battery with an OEM Toyota battery. Lights/warning came back. They said the modules needed to be synced with the battery replacement, so they did it. Lights/warnings came back. Then they said, with the help of Toyota Engineering, that the steering angle sensor was bad. They replaced that. Lights/Warning came back, and now the steering wheel makes noise when turning. Now they claim the remote start is causing issues, so they are unplugging it. The story seems to be the same each time. We did"x", try that. Nope problem returns. Every time. Just like it will this time. Trouble is, the car sometimes leaves whoever is driving it stranded, so far not permanently, but the problem is getting worse. Maybe they are hoping we'll get a different car. We might, but it sure won't be from them. They are, most of them anyway, friendly, so I guess there's that. read more

We were from out of town, and of course our car decided to act up. They got us in as quickly as possible to test, and figured out a fix to get us where we needed to get. Explained that we needed to get into dealer within 10k miles to get the actual problem fixed. Thankfully we were out of there within 2 hrs, so grateful they could help out of towners out. read more

They refused me service and offered a bad option as the only way to get a safety recall taken care of. Here's the story: I got a safety recall notice on my airbags right before the first teacher work day of the year. Bad timing, but whatever. I called and made a 3 pm service appointment for two days later (on a Friday.), and when Friday came, I rolled on up to Kokomo Auto World about 20 min early for my appointment. I parked in the lot and walked inside and met the assistant service manager. When I let him know about my appointment and what it was for he told me that they would not be working on my vehicle at all that day. (He refused service and hadn't even seen my vehicle. I'm sorry, but he didn't even lead in with a reason. It was just "no.") I showed him my letter saying it was a safety recall, and he flat told me that if they started now, his team would pack up at exactly five when they closed and I would be without a vehicle and stranded there over the weekend (which I could have arranged for a friend/co-worker to come get me and give me a ride to work Monday and to get my car and didn't need to go anywhere during the weekend) and that I should have been told that the appointment would take three hours. His solution was to come get my car on the first day of school with students, which is already hectic enough without having to worry about a total stranger driving my car around to get the airbags fixed. I told him no and made an appointment immediately for the next day in Fishers where I got my vehicle. (I live in Kokomo now. Btw, Fishers was appalled at my experience with KAW. Also, dude wouldn't let me have my safety recall notice letter back. Also, before you ask, I was told I couldn't be provided with a rental for over the weekend.) The service manager then called me after they closed to ask me why I cancelled my appointment with them because assistant manager had it down as I asked to have them pick up my car and then cancelled. You know, had I decided to go somewhere in my vehicle and gotten in an accident if I had agreed to that, I'd be screwed. (Luckily I made it to Fishers with no problems, and they had in the system about the air bag recall.) Since my experience, I've sworn this place off and have been told by others that they have also had similar or other horrible experiences with KAW service team as well. read more

Absolutely the best buying experience I've ever had. I recently purchased a vehicle for my soon to be 16 year old. Prior to the appointment I informed them I wasn't looking to break the bank but I also needed something reliable. I found a Volkswagen Jetta and Sean Decosta was able to help negotiate a price within my budget even before I stepped on the lot. I had scheduled myself to come in the same day I spoke with Sean but the rain ruined those plans. I informed Sean Decosta I would come the next day and he was agreeable. At arrival to the dealership everything felt so right. I was greeted quickly and even the manager came and introduce himself in passing me. Sean and I had our meeting time wires crossed but Sean came right up there within 5 minutes to meet me. Another sales associate helped locate the car. So imagine my happy when I saw Sean had parked the car inserts department waiting for my arrival. I had Driven 1.5 hours and that saving of the vehicle met so much to me. I test drove the car and absolutely loved it! Sean and his team were very comfortable with me having the vehicle inspected at the dealership prior to purchasing. The vehicle came back with one issue and Sean and his team quickly came to a fair and reasonable compromise to rectify it. I can't speak to the excited and joy this buying experience was. The only reason I settled on the vehicle was because of the nice vehicle and service offered and being promised that they would get the smoke smell out of the vehicle. After showing up to an appointment and being told they did not have time to detail the vehicle and having to go out of my way to try and get the vehicle to them and they would not go out of their way. Pete and Bryce made a true effort and came up with a decent offer (addressing my concerns about warranty especially)... It just wasn't the right car for me in this instance. Be Aware of Kokomo Auto World Used Cars I have been working on trying to get resolution on a 98 Dodge Ram that broke down within three days of purchasing it from Kokomo Auto World (KAW) Used Car Department. By resolution, I mean a simple callback from management from this dealership. I bought this truck on August 23, 2013, used it over the weekend and on Monday morning the truck lost power and I had to have it towed to a shop. I found out that the Fuel pump was bad of which was approximately a $500 repair. (Do not think this was the only issue that I found wrong with it, but the only issue being addressed directly with KAW) I called the Used Car Sales Manager Phil Carmicheal and told him about the issue. I mentioned that I did sign an AS-IS agreement, but said the truck should not have broken down within 3 days or 200 miles and could his company help me out with $100-150 or whatever was reasonable- He responded and said let me see what I can do I WILL CALL YOU BACK. That was the last time I talked to him. I called, left a message and left a message with my salesman which amounted to not even a "sorry we can do nothing for you or A CALL BACK". I sent a letter to Brian King (Service Manager) that sends out the customer service experience emails and also Greg Landwerlen the OWNER. Guess what I got in response-NOTHING. I also thought if they did not get the letters 2 weeks ago, I then faxed over letters to each of these gentlemen of which produced NOTHING IN RESPONSE. The mediator and or responder of these posted evaluations on this site, should not give the general public a false sense that Kokomo Auto World is Customer Service Oriented and try to belittle the poster of the their personal experiences at the dealership. To expound on this, the day I bought the truck over the phone. I filled out the online finance application and gave my card number for a $1,000.00 hold/deposit and that was the end of my communication with this dealership. I called four times to try and get details on the loan and even what my interest rate was on the loan. Crickets, everyone was in meetings but everyone was there telling me I had to give them my card to hold the truck because three people were coming to look at it. Fellow customers this was the epitome of a Used Car Department. If you decide to buy a car from here, like other posters- expect that if something happens you will receive no customer service after the point of purchase and you will not only have buyer's remorse but rather dealer's remorse. I encourage others to post similar situations to show that customers would like to at least receive a call back when a sales MANAGER says they will. Jon S. Was EXTREMELY disappointed with our experience to order a 2018 Tundra last week. Was told by our salesman & his supervisor that they could transfer a 2017 exactly like we wanted from another dealer in Ohio, in fact there are 4 available from other dealers. They printed the details of a truck, including VIN, wrote up the trade info, etc. Said they'd have it in Kokomo the next day, add a few accessories & we could pick ip up on Friday. Sounds good doesn't it? They called the next day & asked us to come in Thursday, they'd have everything ready a day early. The deal went drastically downhill when we went to pickup the truck - it hadn't been cleaned up after it's trip to Kokomo, the accessories hadn't been added, wrong color interior, step side & bed liner - it wasn't the same truck they gave us the paperwork for. We asked why they didn't call us when they knew they weren't getting the vehicle they assured us they were getting - that's when the lies started from both men. They finally offered to recover the seats in the color we wanted & take $500 off - but then the seat color wouldn't match the other interior colors, duh! Their boss came in, said his two employees are nice guys & apologized for the deal going bad, but he never asked us why. Guess he's not interested in improving his sales force or customer satisfaction. He was correct, the two guys are nice, but they're also sneaky & dishonest. If you can't trust the front of the dealership, how can you trust anyone else there? Bottom line, we did not buy from them, cannot recommend them & will never set foot on their property again. Also, at home we reviewed the paperwork they gave us with the purchase details the last few pages was paperwork for another trade in for a woman in Kokomo. They contained her name, address, facts/figures for her trade, even a copy of her driver's license. We called the salesman to let him know about the woman's personal information that was with our papers, his reply "don't worry, I've got your back" - really? Why does my back need covered he's the one who made the mistake & shared confidential information. read more

I would not recommend purchasing a car from this dealership. Being a female, they definitely tried to take advantage of what they think I didn't know. I even felt bullied at some points in the transaction. Conveniently after I signed all the paperwork and still went through with the purchase, they showed me a dent that is on the brand new car. They had me sign an We Owe You for them to fix it. I'm from out of town, so I drove over 3 hours for my appointment and the repair person wasn't even on property. I was told to come back 2-2.5 hours later after I just traveled all that time. All the time and effort it took for me to get off work and other accommodations I had to make, I didn't go back. Now I can't get a response back from my sales person or management and I still have that dent. Also, it's been over 30 days and I have yet to receive the paperwork. Needless to say, they rave about the service but they definitely believe after they made the sale that they don't have to follow through with any promises that they made and that we signed for. read more

We had a great experience at Kokomo Auto World. After a very bad experience at another dealership, I called to set up an appointment with Adam (and Andrew) to buy a Honda Odyssey for my wife. When I starting meeting with them, I indicated the price I was hoping for for the new van as well as my trade-in minivan. The initial van they brought in for us had a few scratches and so they were able to find a new one that was to our satisfaction. From the initial visit to the final purchase we were given outstanding customer service. We felt they were honest, fair and very kind. We would highly recommend them to all of our family and friends. Most disrespected I've ever felt as a customer. Scheduled an appointment for a test drive on Saturday, and took off work early to get there on time. One of the salesmen had taken the car home and they weren't able to get a hold of him. After being sent to 2 different addresses to meet for a test drive, I finally arrive and have to wait an additional 40 minutes to even drive the car. Once we finally made it to the dealer, it was 10 minutes to closing. Couldn't finish the paperwork or offer that day, and was promised that I would be called on Monday by the sales manager, Nick. After waiting for a call, I decided to call myself, and was ignored every time. I had to have one of my friends call the dealership asking about the car and found out they had sold it an hour earlier, which explains why they had been screening and ignoring my calls! I drove out of my way to go to this dealership and learned my lesson. Never again! read more
