I picked up two sausage, egg, and cheese kolaches, and as always, they hit the spot. What I love about this location is how consistent they are--the kolaches are always fresh, warm, and filled with just the right amount of savory goodness. The potato,egg and cheese was also good. The egg & kolache is a bit plain but if you are looking for eggs for breakfast, it is a good amount. Kolaches are a great go-to for breakfast. Loveeee going to Kolache Factory in sugar land. Came here after the gym and they still had so many kolache flavors to choose from. I went in 30 min before they closed so they do 50% off for a dozen. My favorite kolache would have to be the Italian chicken and Philly steak. Italian chicken is filled with cheddar cheese/cubes of chicken. It has so many flavor and I love it. The kolaches here are filled with meat and flavor. I have nothing bad to say about this location. Staff was friendly and patient when I was ordering. My family has been going to this location for years now, and the food is incredible! There have been changes over time for sure--for example this location used to have three types of polish sausage kolaches: mild, hot, and Texas hot, but they have since gotten rid of the mild Polish which was sadly my family's favorite. However, quality overall is pretty consistent. Service is always prompt and generally polite--we've only had one bad customer service experience out of all the years we've patronized this location. My family's favorites include polish sausage; pizza; Ranchero; bacon, egg, and cheese; potato, egg, and cheese; and cream cheese. Some tips: I recommend that you go in the morning for breakfast to get the kolaches when they're freshly made. If you don't get them fresh out of the oven, you can ask to have your kolaches heated up at the store. They also have fruit & cream cheese kolaches. The place can get packed and the servers moves fast. I personally love the Texas Hot that has the sausage link inside, the sausage & cheese (a much smaller breakfast sausage link), pizza with the pepperoni on the inside and the spinach kolaches. I had to come back to another Kolache Factory after experiencing my first taste in Austin. There's one near my boo's hometown, and so we went to check it out. We're always getting there late (15 minutes before closing which is at 2pm), but aren't late breakfasts always better than the super early ones? So we try the Ranchero this time (ham, egg, jalapeno, and cheese mix) and the lady gives us half off (so I guess some places give you half off discounts when you come in late). The total's only $1.04 and we have 4 cents in the car but she just gives it to us for $1 (some people get strict about that). So we head to the car and after my boo and I take our first bites, we're hooked (just like we were when we first met), and head on back to the store to get another. We go inside (5 minutes 'til closing) and say the Ranchero was so good (and cheap), we'll have another. So she heats it up for us (in seconds!) and I give her the extra change I owed her for fun. She laughs. We sit down, share our Ranchero and water, and talk about how we ought to come in late all the time, or even order a whole bunch to eat later (since all you need to do is heat them up a bit and they're good as new), etc. I'm thinking of taking some home to LA for my CA friends to taste. Life tip for kolache factory: there are salsa packets available. Sausage, egg, cheese filling folded inside of a sweet, fluffy bread roll then smothered in salsa? Perfect breakfast. Oh and it's portable, so you can buy it then EAT IT while you drive/walk/whatever to work. Efficiency has become even more delicious. Not much more to say about this awesome establishment (try every flavor you can!). They close early though, so don't try coming here at dinner time when you're craving kolaches, else you'll be hungry and sad. Another reason why we're such fatsos in Houston, TX. My boo was feening some kolaches after I introduced her to this delicacy in Austin, TX, so I decided to make her dreams come true again (the first dream was meeting me) and take her to Kolache Factory. We get there 15 min before they close, and I said, "baby, you can have whatever you like". She loves eggs, so I suggested getting the ranchero. It was made with egg, ham and jalapeno. I thought it was a bit pricey for 2 bucks each. Anyways, when we were being rung up, it was as if the kolaches are discounted at a buck? I dunno if that was true or a pricing error, but its all good. She paid for it. We ate it in the car and promptly went back inside to get another one bc it was so freaking good. The restaurant itself is very clean, and laid out like a donut shop. Kolache Factories really aren't cute lil coffee shop type places, but its more of a grab and go. and kolaches are the perfect on the go type food. Hand held, and compact. I think they should have a place like this open late night for the club crowd. Heck, maybe a kolache truck that drives around the clubs after they get out. Great old standby for a quick stop-and-go hot breakfast. Italian Chicken is the best flavor, in my opinion. The kolaches with egg in them are hearty & good as well. Customer service is good. The line can be long in the mornings, especially on the weekends, but thankfully they move pretty quickly. There are a couple of tables for people who want to eat in, but most people take their kolaches to go. You have the option to ask for your kolaches to be heated up vs. served room temp. The chicken was juice and the sauce that they put with it was tasty. The egg and cheese is kind of bland and i couldn't eat it unless i put salt and pepper. When we first moved here, I did not get all the hype about kolaches. I tried a couple, but I didn't really like it. Then I tried the Ranchero and the Sausage Gravy. Now I'm sold! The key is finding the flavor you like best. I personally like the ones with more filling and less bread. There are so many to choose from, I don't think I've even tried 1/4 of them. Also, if you come in an hour before closing, you can get them half off. Or at least you used to. I don't recommend Kolache Factory, I've had them refuse their own coupons and the food is just so-so. Instead, I highly recommend Dawn Kolache, they are the best Kolaches and doughnuts in Houston! Blows Kolache Factory away and about half the price. I've tried all their Kolaches and you can't go wrong. The old fashioned doughnut with chocolate frosting will have you hooked after just one. Kolaches are so good that if only I made enough to come here everyday lol! Their food is made fresh every day and they even do delivery from what I heard but I haven't confirmed that yet. They do take orders so that you dont come in dissapointed finding out that the kolache you wanted is not there. This place closes in the early after noon so if you work, most likely you will miss out and miss the goodness of kolache. Come during your lunch break if you can. They have multiple stores. I'm giving this 4 stars because it closes at a time where I just can't come in before hand and also because I feel like its a little pricey. We used to like the Kolache Factory a lot. It's clean, opens up early, and we usually get the egg or fruit ones and they are delicious. Recent trips have disappointed me quite a bit. I'm not trying to be mean I promise, just my own experience the last few times I was there. Prior experience would be 4 stars, recent 2, so average 3. The cashier has always had bad attitudes the past few times I was there, not sure why. There was this annoyance on their face and waiting for me to order, especially if I came in with a bogo coupon, those ones sent in mail. If I don't ask myself, the kolaches wouldn't be heated, unlike before when they'd always ask. But maybe, just maybe it was my bad luck and it's not usually the experience there. I ordered ham & cheese and bacon & cheese today, because I missed the ones I got from Buccees a little while back. I looked at the picture of bacon & cheese on their wall when I ordered, but the real kolache in my hand failed to compare dismally. I'm attaching a picture here because I was that disappointed. The ham & cheese was yucky, really salty and and just not tasty at all. I ended up taking the ham out and ate the bread... Overall I don't want to give lower than 3 stars because they are clean and their egg ones are great.
