Super enjoyed our visit here! This place is located in a plaza, so there is plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is a bit small. Upon ordering, the girl at the counter offered us a free taste. My husband wanted to try all the dry chicken curry dishes and she had no problem with it :) He finally decided on cashew and pallipayam chicken. I ordered goat, chicken curry and lemon rice, they were all delicious and flavorful! Although I would've preferred a more tender goat. Overall, we will definitely be back! Enjoyed dinner. I selected the biriyani rice, chicken chukka, and kerala beef. It was all flavorful. The rice was spicy and I was warned. Next time will try the lemon rice. Positions were large. Kolapasi Indian Canteen - St. Augustine's Newest Gem! We tried Kolapasi Indian Canteen and oh my goodness... this place is incredible! The food was definitely spicy, but in the BEST way. I'm not usually someone who loves spicy food, but this meal totally won me over . The spices weren't just hot -- they were rich, bold, and comforting, and they even come with a couple of nice health perks. Spicy food can boost your metabolism and help clear congestion, making the warmth of each bite feel even more satisfying . The portion was so generous that it was easily enough to share for two people. Mixing the spicy sauce with the rice was absolutely delicious -- the flavors blended perfectly. And the coconut rice and those cheese cubes (paneer) were honestly out of this world . We got our meal to-go and enjoyed it on the beach. It wasn't hot by the time we ate it, but it was still completely incredible and so flavorful that we enjoyed every single bite . Highly recommend Kolapasi Indian Canteen! The service here is absolutely amazing. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a received a warm welcome. The establishment itself is very clean and bright and smells absolutely amazing. We were given samples to try based on our spice preferences and the lovely woman even kind bleh ouch to verify if we had an allergies prior to giving us any samples. The food was delicious! So flavorful and fresh. The portions were large and well worth the price. As a flaky bread lover the bread was one of the best I'd ever tasted. We loved that they let us sample different types of rice, sauces, and proteins before ordering. Most places make you guess or stick to what you already know, so being able to try everything really helped us figure out what we liked -- and what we'll want to order next time! From the minute I walked in I know I was going to enjoy the food base off the amazing food aroma in the restaurant. The service was amazing she allowed me to simple a few dishes which was amazing and helped me make a decision on what I wanted in my plate. I would say enjoy the selection that they had, including the goat, which was very juicy and Tinder. Also, they have three desserts. One was a beets, pumpkin, and mango bread. So excited this place finally opened and it did not disappoint. Incredible flavors and so many options to choose from for protein and rice. Keto and vegan options available. This is quickly becoming one of our favorite new restaurants in town. It's the first Florida location of an Indian food chain that offers Chipotle-style ordering of a fantastic variety of wet and dry curries. I got the spicy chicken chukka and okra fry dry curries with parrota bread instead of rice. The heat and flavor of the chicken chukka were nicely balanced. I like okra so I enjoyed that as well. After I ordered I finished my companion's sample of eggplant curry and it was crazy good. Gonna have that next time. When we left another customer came in and said "this all smells SO GOOD." Went with family. We can order one curry bowl or two curry bowl with rice or paratha. My parents were craving for some Indian food after long day and it was just right. I tried this new Indian canteen this evening for dinner, the food was great with quite a wide variety of Indian cuisine on offer. There were several versions of rice to choose from, I had the biryani rice which was quite spicy but still enjoyable. I chose butter chicken as my curry option, that was good as was the second protein which was steak. I selected the beetroot for dessert and it was so good, sounds strange I know but it's a must have! This restaurant is a nice size, offering counter service where you can see all the offerings before you choose. You can even ask for a taste of something if you're not sure. The atmosphere/ambience is typical of a canteen type restaurant. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the food. The rest room was clean as was the restaurant in general. read more

The Good: The staff is very friendly! The Bad: The food tastes like it comes as powder in a bag and is mixed with water. It was served fairly cold, it was virtually flavorless, the chicken pieces are cheap cuts, and it seemed like it had sat overnight. The inside tables were dirty and unkept. My family and I visited this place for lunch and I must say it did not disappoint at all. There are five of us and so we each got something different and every one of the choices was on point. The seasoning and the spicy level was just great. We stopped in here for lunch and really enjoyed sampling the many tasty offers up for selection. It was hard at the end of the day to make a final selection but the cashew chicken with birundi rice and goat with lemon rice were the winners. The dishes are spiced perfectly and everything tasted fresh and delicious. I will definitely be stopping by here again and would recommend to anyone looking to broaden their taste horizons and who is very hungry! The rolled bread was tasty too.
