Expect to be here for a while waiting for though, as other reviews say, service is very slow even though our server himself was really good, you can tell the kitchen does not move very fast, the place I was not busy when we went here but it still took a while, but since we were not in any rush, we were able to enjoy our meal. Their Crazy monkey cocktail made me feel like I should be at a beach drinking that! What a delicious treat! I ordered a chicken salad for lunch on June 22, 2023 at 12pm. When the salad came I ate a bite of avocado and then forked the chicken. I discovered it was still raw on one end. I notified the server that I had raw chicken in my salad. He took it back to the kitchen. In the meantime a manager came over and apologized that my chicken was "a little undercooked." I responded with- "There is no such thing as a little undercooked when chicken is concerned. It is either cooked or it isn't." He left and the server brought back what I thought was a new salad. To my horror, they had taken the chicken off the old salad, put it either in the microwave or back on a cooktop and reheated it. Then, they put it back on the original salad that had the raw chicken! I know this to be true because my half bitten piece of avocado was still on the plate. I have never in my life been to a restaurant that would put customers at risk like this. To be clear, I eat my steak rare but chicken NEEDS to be cooked through and contaminated lettuce needs to be thrown out, not re-served to a customer. Additionally, when I called the server over again and explained that I was NOT eating the salad because they re-used the lettuce that was touching raw chicken, he asked, "So, what's wrong with it?" I was disgusted. I have already filed a formal complaint with the state. I have been going to this restaurant for about ten years and now I will NEVER go back. They clearly have no idea what they're doing in the kitchen. read more

Absolutely amazing. The ambiance was great, we sat at the bar and had dinner and drinks. The drinks were outstanding, perfect amount of liquor to mixer ratio. Presentation was outstanding. The waitress from the bar was attentive and she didn't lack in any way. We ordered the Surf & Turf. The presentation was on point, plating was so good i didn't want to not get a picture. I will say, my steak was ordered medium and unfortunately it was dry along with my shrimp. They just cooked with no seasoning or cooked the flavor out? Still good, just dry. We order sides of rice. Nice Asian restaurant in the Promenade Shoppes. Cool atmosphere, ample amount of seating. I can see this place getting super busy with everything else around too. A nice variety of cocktails, sake and seasonal fare. Started the meal with a shared sushi/sashimi platter which good but nothing amazing. Entree was the duck. Even after all these years I have had nothing but a 5 star experience every time I have gone. A few little things, but nothing worth lowering to four stars. The menus need to be re-done / replaced, they're falling apart. Also when someone orders a drink straight up, like a martini, it should really be double strained, no one wants tiny ice chips floating on the top of their $13 cocktail. Food is still and has always been really great, and I always get some of the best service, whether it be at the bar or table, that I have gotten anywhere. We really enjoyed our meal here last night. Service was attentive and the food was delicious. We started with the waygu tartare, oysters, and order of otoro. All of which were excellent, I was excited they had real toro, melt in your mouth perfection! The dressing on the house salad was a wonderful next course and we ended with various assorted sushi. The no soy was very good, with diverse flavors and fish. My husband enjoyed the sashimi platter. The fish was well prepared, though slightly colder than I prefer, but overall excellent. We also enjoyed several sakes and had some great recommendations from our server. Not cheap but a nice night out. We will definitely return read more

I have went here once in a while for a long time. It is kinda far from my house so we don't venture there too much. It was always pretty good and we would get the hibachi. We went yesterday and we got calamari app which was good. I ordered chicken hibachi and my fiancé did the shrimp hibachi. We never got our soup and salad until after the hibachi was cooked, I guess they forgot. The salad was good and fresh and the soup was terrible, tasted like water. All of the hibachi was drenched in soy sauce, everything tasting kinda the same and everything then was super salty. I probably would go elsewhere for hibachi next time. We hadn't been here in a few years and wanted some vegan sushi. Very delicious options! I really liked the asparagus roll and the sweet potato rolls. They were awesome. We then had the tofu medallions and the vegetable gyoza. The tofu dish wasn't my favorite but the beets were tasty. The gyoza were good; not quite as browned as I like but still a good option with the rolls. Our server Andrew was great. Very attentive and our water and drink glasses were never empty. read more

Our families have eaten at Kome many times for dinners. Our previous meals have always been exceptional and our families don't hesitate to repeat their dining experience. However, on a recent occasion we did Hibachi for the first time and we were very disappointed. Our scallops, shrimp, salmon, and chicken were over cooked and very dry. This used to be a 5 star place, and the hibachi lunch price is still a great deal. But the flavor recently has become bland. I had to remind the chef to add garlic and butter to the fried rice. The presentation / "show" is basic and lethargic. Overall, it's a lot of food for the price, at the lunch rate. But it's far from its heyday. It's now your basic hibachi joint where there's nothing authentic and none of the staff, other than the chef, is Asian... not that the ethnicity of the staff matters in and of itself but it does now feel like a tired, "corporate" excuse for what used to be a much better hibachi experience. All that said, you get much healthier and more food for the same price as Red Robin around the corner, so it serves a purpose. read more

I'm not usually a fan of sushi, but even I was won over by the sushi here. Having been to Tokyo multiple times as well, I can safely safe say this sushi was comparable to what I've had over in Asia. We got the eel roll, a special roll with tuna in it, and a very good roll that was topped with spicy crab salad. I only had two complaints- we got the vegetable gyoza as appetizers, and they were the same generic pre-frozen green ones that can be found at H-Mart in a bag for $4.99 for 40 dumplings. And they were served with a very unpleasant sesame oil sauce that tasted overwhelmingly only like sesame oil. Second complaint is the roll I got was supposed to be lined with a special chili seaweed, but I suppose they ran out and didn't let us know and instead liberally shook some red pepper flakes over the roll, which wasn't what we were expecting- and took away from the roll. We have enjoyed dining at Kome for years. Both hibachi as well as in the dining area. The service has always been great, management present to speak with the guests inquiring about both service and meals. And we always make a reservation as it is known the restaurant is always busy. Our last visit was disappointing. We always share the sushi dinner consisting of 12 pieces of sushi and two rolls. When our dinner arrived the fish was tough and actually sweating as if it had been sitting under a warming lamp. we each ate two pieces off the platter, we tried, but the texture as well as the temperature was off putting. As our server came back to check on our meal we shared the concerns. She too looked at the fish and also stated It wasn't right. She apologized profusely, we assured her it wasn't anything she needed to apologize for. She was so kind, apologetic and quickly had the manager come to our table. He did. He also said the dish wasn't a representation of the quality of food served. He offered for the meal to be remade but by this point we were turned off to the idea of sushi. We both had appetizers so we weren't starving and declined his offer but thanked him the same. He said he would amend our bill to reflect the fact the sushi was served warm and inedible. We received our bill and he did indeed reduce the check by a whopping $12.00. The platter was $72.00. Needless to say that was our last experience and most likely won't be back. It's a shame too because up until that point we had nothing but praise for Kome and their sushi. Never really have been a fan of the pretentious guests who frequent the Promenades, but the sushi made up for it. Our search for decent sushi in the Lehigh Valley continues. read more

I have been coming here for 8 years and have never been disappointed with the service until tonight. We had reservation for 6:45pm. Arrived for Hibachi Dinner side early. They sat us on time, took our drink and food orders. We must have waited almost 40 minutes for our server to even arrive back at our table. I had to ask the Manager/ Supervisor if our dinner came with a soup and salad. He did the bare minimum of delivering to our table. The server was impossible to find, he should have at least told us they were busy or anything rather then disappearing. I have always enjoy the hibachi dinners here. Would not recommend this spot. We stopped in to celebrate a birthday before heading to the movies. Our reservation was for an hour and a half before the movie but the service was so slow, everything took ages and when our food eventually came about 5 minutes before our movie it was just so so and not very hot and one in our group didn't get their food at all. To their credit the restaurant proactively acknowledged the delays and gave us a discount but by the time we ate as quickly as we could and paid our check we were wayyy late for our movie. This place was okay. My boyfriend and I went here because it was the only place we could get a reservation on Saturday night, and generally, we like sushi. Our reservation was for 7:15, but we weren't actually seated until around 7:45, 8 PM. That was moderately frustrating. I wouldn't have minded a wait if we didn't have a promised table. We ordered the calamari which was great. I loved it, and all the sauces available were also delicious. From there, I ordered the King Crab Roll for my meal. Once again, just okay. It wasn't particularly stunning, and the fried crab was very greasy. I'd go back because I'd like to try their premium roll, but I don't think it's a must get in the Lehigh Valley. read more

Being new to the Lehigh Valley one of the first questions I ask locals is: Where can I get good sushi!? The two places that get most mentions are Lily and Kome. I tried Lily and that will be reviewed on their Yelp page. Now, I am really trying to be as fair as I can here, knowing I come with SUPER high expectations. The place is clean, nice, but cold as an not inviting...As I walk in there's a flock of people on the podium (including what appears to be the "manager"). All of which are tongue tied as if they've never had a hosting job, and others leave. I should add my friend and I were there around 1:30pm on a Sunday and the place wasn't busy. Once seated the waitress took our drink order rather quickly. The sushi selection was limited and their special roll menu was less than special. Given the lack of choices, I ordered the popcorn shrimp (appetizer), Surf and turf roll, and the king crab cali roll. The surf and turf was less than stellar and lacked flavor, so did the king crab cali roll. Definitely not what I am used to. The rolls weren't bad just nothing to rave about. The only positive was the amount of rice on my rolls was minimal which is a plus! :) My tab was 48 plus tip. In my opinion way overpriced, back west I would've paid this for all you can eat sushi for 2. And trust me when I say that all you can eat sushi back west is WAY better than anything I've had here thus far. read more

Dropping Kome down a star because three recent visits are showing signs of a downturn. The three visits were over three or four months. Their rolls are as creative as ever and we loved a new twist, soyless sushi. But we've noticed a decline in the quality of the fish. Portions have gotten smaller and pieces have been lacking that wow factor we have come to expect. Also, the menu is now pretty stale. Not only has it not changed in 5 or 7 years, the menus themselves are kind of gross. On the desert side, we always order mochi and it is as good as ever.
