I love this Asian buffet. There are a lot of different options. The food varies and has something for everyone. An assortment of sushi, frog legs, sirloin tips. Then you have your classic dishes, dumplings, egg roll, crab rangoon, green beans. I could go on about the food. The staff is friendly. My waiter thought I should eat more. I can put down plates of food. Do not worry my friend. I will return one day. I would gladly clean up the trash on the property from litter bugs to eat here. While in Morgantown for our doctor appointments, Joshua and I stayed at the Hilton Gardens Inn at Suncrest and had lunch at KOME Asian Buffet. Neither of us had eaten here before. The staff was friendly and helpful. Their selections choices were numerous. I never even made it to the salad bar section nor the desserts. I had a unsweetened tea With lemon And Joshua chose a Mt Dew. I started out with crab salad, some grilled shrimp and cheese topped mussels. I also had 5 different pieces of sushi choosing from several different rolls...my favorite was the Godzilla Roll. I also had some rice noodles, 2 dumplings with some Thai chili dipping sauce with a spring roll. I tried a little baked salmon also...the food was wonderful. $12.99 for lunch buffet per adult plus drinks. $40 w tip & taxes. Definitely going back!!! Okay, okay, okay, let me explain my four star rating here. Kome offers mediocre at best food. But the value is unbelievable. For a mere $16.99, you can have all the nigiri, salt & pepper softshell crab, crawfish, and shrimp cocktail your heart desires. And that's just seafood! If you crave chinese-american fare of the orange chicken, deep-fried and glazed meat variety, search no further. Kome has got you covered. Heck, add beer for $2 or a margarita for $5.99! And no, those are not happy hour prices! Granted, the food quality varies tremendously here. The hot and sour soup was just wrong, too much soy sauce? Wrong vinegar? Just something was off. The abalone sashimi? Lovely and fresh. The fried chicken legs? Dry and chewy. The taro bun and red bean steamed bun? Not bad! The "salad" bar? Missing greens and raw vegetables, but it's perfect if you want a bowl of bacon bits, a hard boiled egg, and cheese topped off with a crispy iceberg lettuce leaf. Amazing that they only offered iceberg lettuce (no carrots, no corn, no bell peppers, I mean it, no real vegetables at all) but offered 12 different types of dressing. Iceberg lettuce never had it this good. The desserts were relatively uninspired, some jell-o, some pudding, and some cookie option, but at least they had ice cream! Even if the food here is so-so, if you stick to the dishes like you can have a great time for cheap (even cheaper it you're 4-10! Then it's just your age X $1.19! Lobster meats were dark, seems weird. Shrimps' shells were harder to take off, I think they're not fresh. One of the steamers with roast pork buns ran out, but never being refilled the entire time when we were there (7 pm - 8:30pm). There are flies flying around the food, which makes me hesitate to eat cold food like sushi, and salads, and desserts. The rice noodles looks plain, but actually surprisingly tasty. Peanut Chicken was good. Our waitress was nice. Her service was also good. I went for Saturday lunch buffet. There was a long line but it took only about 15 mins for me to get in. The foods were fresh as the restaurant was full, and needed to be replaced quite often. The quality of sushi and rolls were surprisingly decent for a buffet. Two things I didn't like- One the sushi and rolls are pre selected on a smaller plate. So if you want to get multiple of them, you need to grab multiple plates which is inconvenient and inefficient. I also thought the price was a little hyped up for a lunch buffet. Including a drink with tax and tip it was about $22 I spent for a lunch which I think is a little high. read more

Very friendly atmosphere. Not very expensive for a buffet ($16.99 for dinner). The fried rice was fine, as was the lo-mein. The egg drop soup tasted good, and the hot & sour soup was pretty good. My husband said all the sushi was good, and noted that they use real wasabi. I don't eat sushi, so I got stuff from the other part of the buffet. There was a lot to choose from. Sadly, everything I tried, except the items I mentioned above, had either an off-taste, or an off-putting taste. I wanted to love this place because everybody was so nice and polite, but i don't. We probably won't go back, sorry to say. Even the prime rib had a weird flavor. Maybe I'm just used to the Chinese places where I live. Update: I didn't mention this in my review, but then thought I should. When we left the establishment a nice young man held the door open for us, and had kind of a grin on his face. He stood there holding the door til we went out, and on our way to the car I heard the sound of throwing up. The young man was standing over his buddy who was bent over BEHIND the front door, in the bushes, being sick - for quite a while. We got in our car in a hurry, and my husband looked in the rear view mirror to see the one young man go back in, then the sick guy get up, pull his T-shirt collar up to his mouth, wipe it, and go in the restaurant. Obviously, 2 college students who had probably been drinking the night before. I have to think that, because I don't even want to assume that they had just eaten there and the one had gotten so violently sick so fast! And walked BACK in, to boot! Food is good, however management is lacking. Recently I was having dinner and a couple with their son was having dinner also. I had overheard the father asking about the free dinner for their son. Since the. son's birthday was on Sunday, they wouldn't offer any discount just the day after (Monday). I paid the tab for the young son but addressed The management that I was a weekly customer and said this was a bad policy. He then told me "They would be out of business if they did this for everyone ". Fun fact~ I didn't even know they had a discount for "birthdays ". Money is the bottom line with this business. I am all about Chinese buffets. I go to all of them, everywhere I go. I lived on Long Island, NY for 50 years. I have been to at least 50 Chinese buffets in NY. This is easily the best "Asian" buffet South of Manhattan. I've gone there every time I visit WVU, 8 times. There is a very large selection of the top shelf type sushi, beautifully assembled and presented. The type on it's side with the top decorated. One with eel and at least 3 with eel sauce. Very tasty. There's seaweed salad, octopus salad, and 4 or 5 other seafood salads, maybe spicy Korean, I think. There is a great selection of Sashimi as well. The baked Salmon was better than most. There are steamed mussels and clams. Mussels, scallops, and Surimi baked with cheese. A few shrimp dishes, my favorite was the lightly breaded Coconut Shrimp, which seems like the same treatment walnut chicken gets. At dinner they had snow crab legs, crawfish, and a few other additions, hard to keep it straight. There is a very large selection of chicken and beef that looked great and my wife liked a lot, but with all this seafood, I don't touch the chicken and beef. There is a very large salad bar and desert bar that looked great, that I also didn't touch. The worst thing I can say about this buffet is that East in Huntington, NY, and the Epic Buffet in Atlantic City were both better. read more

The sushi spread was good, lots of options, would have been worth the cost just for that. A mountain of other Asian & American dishes, including a salad/fruit bar & deserts.
