Really good time and good food. The hibachi chef was really funny and nice and made the experience worth it. The inside was also really pretty and the prices are good for all you get!

Good place for sushi when traveling for work. Bartender always on-point w/ service. Modern look. Sharing multiple photos from a few visits.

Stopped in for lunch and my wife got 2 sushi rolls that we shared. One was shrimp tempura and unsure of what the other was. Neither one was very good. Unsure if the flavors were off or the texture but have had way better. I order the teriyaki chicken lunch and the rice was the best part chicken was good but was dry. The soup and salad were the best part of the meal would even consider going back just for those. The service was excellent quick to refill drinks and very attentive. The feel of the place was Very relaxing as well with the lights from the bar area.

Located in the Granville area of Morgantown, this large restaurant provides a large menu and very good service. There is a full bar. Most dinners come with miso soup and salad. We ordered sushi, vegetable Tempura, Udon dish and Pad Thai. All were very good, and were large portions. We took half as carry out. We were a party of seven. The bill had 18% gratuity added on the bill when we received it. These meals could be easily shared. There is also a lunch menu. Handicapped accessible and nice bathrooms.

Stopped here are researching some places within an hour of travel. Luckily I made a "reservation" a few hours ahead of time. It just gives you first chance upon arrival. This place seems like it is packed all the time. We did have the advantage and were seated very quickly on the hibachi side. Personally, I struggle with hibachi because I'm socially awkward and hate when they try to make you squirt Saki all over you. And I never finish my food because I'm always munching while they finish cooking the chicken. I thought all our meal was great but we did order a roll that took the whole time to get, it was a dessert roll by the time it came. I appreciate the music and speakers for the hibachi chefs. We were crammed a little, but overall a Success.

Stopped here recently for a little dinner and spewage, and as someone who used to really hit hibachis hard, it was my first in a year or two. The location is in a newer plaza and area in Morgantown which also is nearby other food places and options. It was very busy but we had reservations and the other 20 people waiting were behind us. The spot is broken up into two areas: hibachi (where there is the show and cooks in front of you) and a sit down area for just regular table service dining. Also there is a large bar area and sushi bar which have TVs and flashy lights and up tempo feel. Went with the chicken and shrimp meal, and ordered a roll. Problem was the roll didn't come out until near the end of the dining experience which really sucked- so we had to wait and then almost didn't want it. Food was good overall, show was good, but man they jam pack them in there.

Best fusion in town. Possibly the only place in town serving beef tartar. Sushi is good for Morgantown. Salads are great.

The steak and lobster was over cooked and portion was small. Our waiter was pleasant. This was a one and done.

Food and service is amazing! However, having the hostess wearing kimonos is cultural appropriation and is very disrespectful.

Wanting to have some authentic Japanese food and the path took us to Yama's Japanese Restaurant…read more It's a barely noticeable hole in the wall in Downtown Morgantown. There's a paid parking lot across the street as well as metered parking on High Street. Their awning has seen better days but after walking up a small flight of stairs, you enter a cozy restaurant and greeted by its staff. There's about 8 tables for seating and the walls are neatly decorated with Japanese art. The front wall displays photos of their food offerings and made ordering easy. The friendly cashier answered some questions and we placed our order of shoyu ramen, curry rice with chicken katsu, shumai, gyoza, and takoyaki as well as soft drinks. There were several other customers having their meals and more gradually filled the tables as others left. The food was served soon after and looked delicious. They formed a kitty cat with the rice, complete with nori for cat eyes on the curry katsu plate. Nice touch. The curry was very flavorful and just the right consistency and a little spicy which went great with the katsu. Only wish there was more katsu. My buddy's ramen looked fantastic and was told the noodles were delicious in the broth. Found out the noodles aren't made in house but bought from a vendor. The gyoza and shumai were very tasty alone and with its sauce. The takoyaki took some time to cook but was nicely sauced and served. There were sizable chunks of tako inside and was very tasty. The prices are reasonable for a specialty restaurant and the service was great. There's another Japanese restaurant in Morgantown which was very good but Yama's was a little better and I'd return if ever I'm in Morgantown.

The food is always amazing. I've never had a bad meal or a bad experience at yama's…read more The staff is always energetic and as quick as can be with your order. They're a small place maybe 20 or so seats. So sometimes you have to wait to order be seated and get your order. Lunch time seems to be alot easier to accommodate people who don't have patience. Personally I've eaten quite a few things on the menu. I enjoy the shoyu Ramen the shrimp shumei the gyoza. I've had the takoyaki a few times as well as the spicy tuna roll. Portions are good price is good and the staff is awesome. The decoration inside makes me think that that is what a japanese family type restaurant would look like in japan. Many light novels and manga on the book shelves to peruse through (all in japanese of course) which incidently your read from back to front right page to left page incase anyone wants to look at them. Can't recommend yama enough.
