Not really sure why people like this place. We tried this place after the solid Yelp reviews. In all honesty, the food was disappointing. I got chicken pad thai. The noodles were a little tough and the flavor was a little bland. There are definitely better Thai places just a few mins away. Drinks: 5 or of 5 Food: 2 out of 5 Really wanted to love Komrai and finally have a local spot for Asian fare but the food was not up to par. I ordered pad Krip pra, shrimp fried rice, chicken fried, pork fried rice, wonton soup, green curry chicken, they were incredibly nice and accommodating with the order customizations for each dish. Unfortunately everyone in the house threw their dish away except for the Green Curry Chicken. The Wonton Soup was not fresh it was oily & lacked flavor with the wontons completely falling apart when you tried to eat them, the broth was sour for some reason & tasted several days old. The shrimp in the shrimp fried rice had an odd flavor that I couldn't quite put my finger on it was a seasoning thing something was just off & not fresh about it. All the rice dishes were oily & almost tasted like they had butter and a oily film to it. It lacked overall flavor and did not taste right. The Green Chicken Curry was delicious, it was odd because it was the only food dish that was actually not oily or tasted stale or had a strange aftertaste. Unfortunately even this dish had issues as the white rice it came with was grossly undercooked and chewy. We all split the 1 meat part of the dish as we awaited delivery from new orders at Viet Fast Food in grapevine. The Slushy & Smoothie Drinks were all a home run, tasted fresh & knocked it out the park. Would return for those and the curry. Ambience is great. Overall this was a unique in that I've never had such extreme experiences from the dishes at the same restaurant and I struggled to rate this. On one hand I wasted $80+ of food that was thrown out but on the other the hand I have to credit the drinks & the curry. Y'ALL! I needed to put in a large order from somewhere for a large amount of Milk Tea for a Boba Bar I was doing for an event. I called around other places and they said they were not able to accommodate... But this place said they'd find a way! They said they didn't have the containers for my 3 gallon order, but if I could bring some in, they would fill it up! I told them I'd try to come by in a couple of hours, and when I got there, they had already brewed it in anticipation of my arrival even though I didn't put in money down or leave contact info! I so badly want to love the restaurant. I would be great to have somewhere right in the neighborhood to go and get Thai food for dinner after a long day at work. We went for dinner and not for the boba tea. The service was friendly and very nice. We place our order at the counter, paid and our food was brought out to the table. The restaurant is very clean and looks great. We had a Pad Se Ew and fried egg rolls. The egg rolls were good, crunchy and I really like the filling. The noodles were definitely fresh and served hot but the sauce was not really what I am used to when I order this dish. It seems light and lacks some oyster sauce or other flavor that I am used to. I was also surprised by the spiciness of the dish. We always start with 2 stars and then move up on future visits. I like heat and the two-star was about as much as I would want and a little too much for my wife. I am going to come back to try the curries and the soup, but I have to be honest in my reviews and this first experience was only OK. read more

Visited Komrai Thai a few years ago and I still dream of coming back. Their chicken wings, takoyaki, and drinks (Teddy bear milk tea & Lalalemon I think) were so delicious. I'm not a fan of lavender but their Lalalemon drink made me love it. There seriously hasn't been anything comparable to Komrai Thai and I hope to make the long trip over there again soon! The bubble teas are really fun and great for the Texas heat! Food options are there now, and I look forward to trying them all. Great experience. My husband had drunken noodles with rice noodles level 3 spicy. He plans to go to level 4 next time. My 13 year old son enjoyed the pad Thai level 1 spicy with pork. I had pad Thai with shrimp pork and chicken level 2 spicy. I might try level 3 spicy next time. I'm use to pad Thai with a slight peanut flavor, this didn't but very good all the same.
