There's a new Thai in Town Southlake!!!!
    Tj S.

This place should be named "The Only Thai in Town"...at least it's the only one you should be going to! First things first: Booths, padded seats, coke products and a full bar + mocktails (whatever those are :) They didn't skimp on decor. I appreciated the painted and wooded ceiling, lovely lighting and fans and tasteful wallpaper. But here's what you don't see every day (even in fine dining places) substantial glasses and silverware (heavy) along with fresh flowers and of course linen napkins. I didn't even realize I was missing those things! Food (let me start out with, I'm a sauce girl and I loved their sauces-both in taste and in quantity)! They give it all to you. Pot stickers in a bowl of sauce and there's crunchy on the crunchy---while laying in a scrumptious salty sauce. Cashew chicken had sooo many cashews (the perfect amount), well-cooked chicken, lots of veggies. I went mild and my husband's dish was medium spice and there was a BIG difference but as long as they're consistent, I'm good. This was my 1st time so TBD. Dessert: Warm sticky rice with mango and even though it doesn't need it (but I LOVED it) more coconut sauce on the side! The coconut ice cream was thick and creamy with coconut shavings mixed in. It's everything a dessert should be; fruity and fresh, creamy and cold, sticky and warm ---every bite is better than the last one! Service: Our server, Juan was fabulous! He anticipated our needs and made sure we had everything we needed and more. The price didn't break the bank (very fair) and the menu has a TON of variety from all regions of Thailand. This is the real deal.

This might just be the best new Thai place in town! I stopped by Friday night for some takeout and was not disappointed. Their food was really flavorful and fresh tasting. My food was prepared quickly and everything was labeled. I ordered Thai basil chicken, green papaya salad, and crab dumplings. Everything was delicious! I probably wouldn't order the crab dumplings again as you only get 4 in an order. I can't say much for ambiance or service as it was a takeout order. Overall, I will say everything was tasty and I'll be back for a sit down dinner or lunch.

After a long day of dancing we wanted some good Thai food that also gave you good portions for a decent amount of money. Thai in Town is just that. We ordered to go and they didn't hesitate to fill the container up with amazing tasting food! The noodles alone were special because they were hand-made wide noodles. The sauce on my Pad See Ew was perfect and there was plenty of chicken and vegetable. I have nothing to complain about at all!

What a delightful Thai restaurant, everything hits the spot here. The decor is thoughtful and very appealing, the music sets just the right tone and the food presentation and taste are second to none. We had the duck roti to start, cooked to crisp perfection and accompanied by a warm and full bodied sauce so good I cleaned the plate. The Lamb curry (one of the reccomend dishes) was amazing, beautifully presented with a gentle warmth of a full flavour profile. It was simply delicious. We will be back to try the rest of the menu!

This restaurant has a sign that they're still in their soft opening. The restaurant is sleek yet cozy. They have tables, booth, and half booths. However despite being on of about 10 people, our complimentary salad with an egg roll & main food took over 30mins to arrive. We had to ask for the check as soon as the food came as we were on our lunch. My coworker said the previous visit they were much quicker. The food was worth the wait! I had one of the lunch specials, Pad Krapow. It was the perfect temp and came with a fried egg. Absolutely yum. I would try the medium spice level next time as the mild spicy was very faint (which is good but some times mild to some is fire for others LOL)

We came during the soft opening and were more than impressed. I have lots of trouble finding authentic tasting food in the Southlake area, but this is one of the few restaurants that executed good food with nice ambiance and great service. My only critique is that the dumplings could have used a bit more salt. We picked the ginger shiitake sauce with them but next time will try the spicy sauce instead because of the slight lack of salt. The Tom Kha was a little thinner than I like but the flavors were spot on and made up for it. I asked for spicy and they did not disappoint, I found pieces of thai red chilli in it! My friend said the fried rice was good as well and they give a very generous portion for the food. One appetizer, two entrees, and a drink were only $56 before tip. Definitely check this spot out.

Fantastic Thai restaurant with very nice staff! The multi-page menu is very extensive with so many delicious sounding options, the centerfold of the menu having dishes from the various regions of Thailand. Happy Hour every day of the week! I've been to Sakhuu in Flower Mound and I see they are related. The website mentions other locations of Sakhuu in Plano and Richardson and another Thai in Town in Little Elm. If you're near one and want delicious Thai food in a very nice atmosphere... go! You won't be disappointed. Wish it were closer to home so I could try it more often! Maybe they'll open a 6th location in Las Colinas? Please??? :)

Service is excellent and attentive. Their menu is vast. The ambiance is a nicer casual vibe with lots of booths and tables. We've been here a couple times to try out several dishes and have enjoyed most everything. We like the unique aspect of their menu which features foods from different regions - it's extremely diverse with so many options! Have taken both friends and family here and they've all enjoyed it. Plus the mango sticky rice is the BEST EVER! Love having this place in town.

    Pad Thai with shrimp

I highly recommend this restaurant if you have not try it. Their food was truly exceptional with high quality! Restaurant ambiance was cozy and spacious with a very nice bar. We ordered Pad Thai with shrimp. It was very flavorful, tasty and the ingredients were very fresh. The medium spicy level blended so well together with the noodle and their sauces. We could taste the great quality of their chef's skill in making the Pad Thai. We particularly like their massaman curry lamb. The lamb was very tender and juicy, it mixed really well with their special curry with some cinnamon flavor. The curry was rich and creamy. The overall service was good and it's beyond our satisfaction. We will definitely come back again!!

Tried this new Thai place...they have their menu by regions. The place is nice and clean. Food was excellent...clean and not so oily. They make most of their dumplings in house. Great date night spot.

    Steamed buns, unique and tasty.
    Greg M.

Had lunch during their soft opening. A section of the menu features regional specialties, which was interesting but thought the entire menu should be based on the region that they are from. Solid Thai, and most notably the yuzu soda was really refreshing and different.

We stopped by for the lunch special. I ordered the red curry which also came with a side salad (the dressing was a little different & delicious) and an egg roll, My husband got a chicken dish which he said was also good . The food took a while to come out so the waitress offered a complementary mango sticky rice and I will be back for another one of those.

After noon, you can expect the crowd to significantly increase and it will become busy. We ran into that, towards the end of our visit. With the increase in traffic, it was nice to be tended by more than one waiter. I didn't think about it then, but I would have loved to tip the second person, as well. When going to Postino's, I always try to get something new and they never fail to impress. Drink: The Mockingbird (Mocktail) - bright pineapple, a touch of Italian orange, and toasted almond bitters. This was very good and is something I'd get again. The Board: Brie, Apple & Fig Spread - this is a repeat for me, I absolutely love it. The apples are always fresh, crisp, and juicy. This is so perfect! Prosciutto Di Parma, Fig & Mascarpone - another repeat, I can't go to Postino's without having this on my board. Mushroom & Mascarpone - If you're a lover of mushrooms, you'll enjoy these little bites. I did notice, we did not get the green onions this time around and I was okay with that. They were removed, due to the current outbreak. Great thinking, Postino's! Salami & Pesto - This always closes the board for me, I love this combination. Although, I will add, I think a different type of salami would work best with this combination. West Coaster Panini - (Smoked ham, smashed avocado, arugula, roasted garlic aioli, pickled red onion, Calabrian chili, feta cheese. For my side, I chose the tomato soup, my goodness, was it good. I must say, it is the best tomato soup, I've ever had. It was creamy, packed with flavor, and complimented my panini so well. Also, they add cheese tortellinis to the soup as well. So, good! This was very delicious, the ham stood out and wasn't muted. However, I think I will get another bread next time. I chose the focaccia, it was a bit too much bread for that particular sandwich. I will admit, it doesn't beat their prosciutto and brie panini; that sandwich is divine. Hot Donut Dots - (House made ricotta donut holes with salted butter chocolate, caramel and vanilla glaze dipping sauces.) These are superb and packs a lot in one bite. The cream in the middle is so smooth and full of flavor, but is very heavy. I'm not a cookies and milk person, but this dessert craves a tall glass of milk. They were hot, fresh, and I appreciate the fact that even when fried, they were not swimming in grease. The vanilla dipping sauce was my go-to, of the three sauces. They did well with this dessert, it hit all of the bases. Postino's is a great place to visit with friends, a date, or even as a solo-day/night out. They are one of my top 5 restaurants and I don't see that changing, ever!

The atmosphere was the ideal setting for our gathering and the mood in the establishment was pleasant and friendly and bordered on festive. We all shared the main dish which was a crispy noodles with a large selection of vegetables and meats. The best ever! Topped off the meal earl grey ice cream and yuzu yogurt. Perfect conclusion.

Rather than focus on that, I wanted to see how the food held up on this visit. We started with the Wagyu Beef Dumplings, and they were one of the best dishes of the night. The filling was juicy and flavorful with a nice balance of Wagyu beef, ginger, onions, cabbage, and scallions. The wrapper wasn't too thick, allowing the filling to be the star. The Stir-Fried Hand-Pulled Noodles were easily my favorite dish. The fresh noodles had the perfect chewy texture and were tossed with vegetables in a savory soy sauce that coated every noodle perfectly. It's a simple dish executed extremely well. We also ordered the House Chicken Fried Rice. The fried rice itself was excellent--well-seasoned, fluffy, and flavorful. My only criticism is that the chicken lacked seasoning and didn't stand out the way the rice did. If I ordered it again, I'd probably choose beef instead. Based on this visit, I'd absolutely recommend ordering the hand-pulled noodles and Wagyu dumplings. Those two dishes alone made the trip worthwhile, and I'll be back to continue exploring the menu.

All the food was on the expensive side, but I heard it was good, so I didn't mine. One of the first thing I noticed was the entrees do not come with rice. There is a $1 up charge for white rice and $3 for fried rice, $5 for noodles. I have never experienced a Chinese restaurant that charged for white rice with an entree (not even PF Chang). I arrived 10 minutes after the time I was told my food would be ready. I checked in at the register and was told it would be another 5 minutes. I was told to have a seat and wait. Since there is no place to sit when waiting for a take out order, I sat down in the closet booth next to the register. After about 1 minute, a very rude lady came over in broken English and screamed that I could not sit there. I told her I was waiting on a to-go order and she just kept screaming "you don't can sit there", so I got up and stood by the front door. If my food had not already been paid for, I would have left after that rude encounter. The ambiance of the restaurant is very strange as they had a boombox loudly playing 80s music. It was so load, I felt bad for the customers who were eating at there. No way you could enjoy siting there listening to the annoying loud music while you ate. About 5 minutes later (15 minutes past the time they originally told me it would be ready) my food was ready. The food did come out very hot. I retrieved my food and took it home to enjoy. Overall the food is very basic and not worth the elevated price. The egg rolls were over fried and greasy. The spicy wonton were very bland and not spicy at all. The general Tso chicken was not good. Very small pieces of chicken, over breaded and a bland sauce. Again not spicy at all. The fried flat rice noodles were the biggest disappointment. Mushy noodles that were all stuck together. Not good at all. Overall the Noodle Works was a big disappointment. There are so many better option in the area (Dragon House or the Wok). Do yourself a favor and skip the rude staff Noodle Works.
