Ramen is always great on a cold evening, and it's hard to find vegetarian broth. We arrived just before 6:00 PM on a Sunday, which was perfect timing since the restaurant got busy afterward. This place is either an order up or sit down restaurant. I've been couple times and it hasn't been packed we got seated right away. The ramen is responsibly priced and very filling. The flavors are good! I ordered the tonkotsu ramen. My only problem is the take out. Place is clean. I ordered takeout. They don't provide a bowl. Which had me baffled. Had I not been home and wanted to eat at work I wouldn't have been able to enjoy it because the broth cup they give you is so small. It's like 12oz little cup and the noodles are on a foam takeout plate. Any other place I've been to adds the noodles in a bowl and the broth separately to add. read more

The bamboo shoots were soaked in the juice they came from out of the can and were at room temp at best. I would truly give Kanta 4.5 stars! Service - the service here is wonderful! The lady who served us was super sweet. We let her know that we are vegetarian and she took the time to explain which dishes were vegetarian or could be made vegetarian. Other than it being a little slow towards the end (she was the only server at a busy time), the food came out quickly and she was very tentative throughout the entire dining experience! I will note that only some of the tables had soy sauce and a chili tray on them. We had to get up to go grab one, which isn't a big deal but definitely something they can add to all the tables! Food - Apps: Vegetable Egg Roll - crunchy and satisfying! The sauce was sweet and perfectly paired with the rolls. Mains: Vegetable Ramen and Pad Thai with Tofu - we asked to make the ramen spicy and it had a great flavor! So we just move to this area and have been looking for a ramen place. Saw this joint on our way to church so we thought we'd try it. Hubby and I both got ramen; he got the spicy tonkotsu and I got the miso. My miso ramen broth was flavorful and good. The only thing I didn't like was how very thin the two (2) slices of the chasu pork belly. Like any other good ramen I've had, the slices of the chasu pork were thicker. Other than that, I think the broth brought the 4 starts. Oh and we also ordered the gyoza--it's fried but it is very good that we already ate a few before I can take pictures (thus the 2 pieces in the picture); that contributed to the 4 stars. This joint also serves Thai food so, I would have to come back and try it. Kind of skeptical that a restaurant would serve both Japanese and Thai cuisine but it's the food and the quality that counts so we'll see how their Thai concoctions fare. The server, Gotham (yes, Batman's Gotham)--it's his second day on the job and he did great. Very attentive and checked on us a few times. Ambience was ok. I came for lunch this past week and ordered Panang Curry off the lunch menu. The food had good taste but the serving size (small bowl) with some rice on the side came out to over $20 (including an ice tea). I will not come back because the meal is way overpriced for the quantity that is received. Ambiance was what you would expect for a shopping strip Ramen restaurant. It was smaller and clean. And the bathroom was clean as well. Service was a little on the slow side. It was their lunch time and the staff was all eating at the same time. So once our appetizers were delivered I had to get up and ask for forks. We started with edamame. It was very normal. It was not seasoned at all. Just steamed. Then we had the Gyoza, Marinated grounded pork and chicken wrapped with gyoza wrapper and fried with dipping sweet soy sauce. They were soft fried. Very tasty. They were filled with a tender mixture of pork and chicken. And the dipping sauce complemented the dumplings well. My daughter was along for todays lunch. She ordered the BBQ Pork Wonton Ramen Marinated grounded chicken and shrimp wrapped with wonton wrapper,BBQ pork, bean sprout, bok choy, scallions, fried garlic and cilantro in tonkotsu broth. It was D-lish. The dumplings were a nice size, soft and perfect addition to the flavorful broth. The Boc Choy and sprouts added the perfect fresh crunch. The pork was thin sliced, abundant and very tender. The hint of garlic was perfect. Next, we had the Chicken Ramen Chicken, based broth with chicken , soft-boiled egg, bean sprout, bokchoy, scallions, fried garlic, sesame seeds and cilantro. As you know the base can make or break Ramen, and this little place hit it out of the park with even the most simple of broths. The broth was once again flavorful. The noodles were perfect and plentiful, the chicken was sliced and cooked perfectly. The boc choy added the crunch. We did add extra chicken. It was topped with a sprinkle of fried garlic. First off, our server was so patient, friendly and sweet - she made recommendations when we asked (which was great as there were a TONNN of choices!) and pointed us in all the right directions because we loved our food! Five stars for this spectacular service!!! I chose the spicy Tonkotsu, which was savory and just the right amount of spicy! The noodles were medium wavy and cooked to perfection and the pork was succulent and melted in my mouth. My friend had the crispy duck, which was also delicious - with the duck really being just the right amount of crispy and OH SO MELTY as well! We also had the spicy edamame which had a unique, delish garlic sauce on it - super tasty! When I arrived at 6:20 they told me 5 minutes and proceeded to wait 30 minutes before asking again, which they replied another 10-15 minutes. This place is just absolutely amazing. My husband and I first came here back in November of last year just as I was coming in from out of town. It was a cold, rainy day and this just sounded right since we were both craving ramen. I've had ramen at 2 other places before but this one is the best, hands down. For this visit I tried the Kanta Miso Ramen (regular, not spicy) and it was delicious. It provided the perfectly nice warm, filling and comforting feeling one would want on such a cold, wet day. My husband ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and loved his just as much. Our 2.5 year old was a big fan of the chicken fried rice from the kids menu. (We tried it too - it was tasty!) We returned again last week when it was feeling cold again because we had been craving it since our last visit. This time we both opted for the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. While it was also quite delicious, it was a little more spicy than I expected, but I was happy to have tried it. My husband preferred the spicy version and decided this was his new go-to dish here. Personally, I preferred the Kanta Miso Ramen and will get that when we go back. The little one ordered her rice and, again, liked it. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos either time we ate here so I'll need to upload photos of our next visit's dishes. This place has a really nice, relaxing atmosphere. Even with a loud little toddler, we were able to enjoy our dinner and not feel like we were disturbing anyone. Good family place. The service is great too. We were out in the area with family today and my niece really wanted ramen, so we decided to try this place. We went around 7pm on a Saturday evening and it was mostly full but fortunately had enough tables to sit the 6 of us immediately. They seemed to have a fair amount of takeout customers too. We had very friendly and attentive service, and the noise level was just right, no issues having conversations across the table. All of my family members tried different varieties of ramen, while I went with my go-to Thai order: lad na. It was very good and served piping hot. The only thing I wish were different was I would prefer thin slices of carrots instead of large cylindrical carrot sticks, that's just too much carrot to eat at a time and makes it difficult to get multiple ingredients in one bite. But it was very tasty. One of my nieces got the seafood ramen and said it was the best ramen she's ever had. My other niece got a to-go container for the remainder of her ramen, but then ended up just finishing it off while we were sitting and talking after haha. My brother-in-law ordered the crispy spicy chicken and gyoza for appetizers, I tried a bite of the chicken and it was good, had a kick but not too spicy. I didn't try any gyoza because I prefer them pan fried or steamed and theirs seemed to be very crispy fried, which I'm not a fan of and it seemed to come with just a pretty basic soy sauce for dipping. I really like the option of having Japanese and Thai available at the same restaurant, because I'm not really a fan of ramen so I don't love when we go to ramen places because there is often not much else I would want to order on the menu, but this place having one of my favorite Thai dishes, lad na, is what made me pick this place for us. Sever was polite and food came out very quickly and hot. I ordered the spicy tonkatsu ramen and lard na seafood. Really loved the ramen and it was just the right amount of spicy. The broth was delicious! The seafood lard na (Thai rice noodle dish with gravy sauce) had a lot of seafood and flavor was good. I wish it had a bit more noodles in it but overall I really enjoyed the food and will eat here again! Prices were very reasonable, my ramen was only $11 and seafood lard na was $18 due to extra $3 up charge for seafood. Total bill came out to $33 for two people including tax. read more

I got the Pad Kee Mao with pork and level 3 spicy. It wasn't extremely spicy so I'd probably go for 4 next time, but I like to exercise caution when dining in unfamiliar Thai restaurants lol. It was delicious and the portions are generous--I have at least another meal of leftovers. The service wasn't great (as in, it took forever for our orders to be taken, and at one point she left to get a pen and we ended up having to flag her down 15 minutes later), but I think that was due to an influx of people while only one person was working the front rather than any lack of skill or grace.
