First time here. Came to have breakfast on a Thursday morning @7 AM when the restaurant opened. Apparently after 8:30 AM there is usually a line to get in. The place is very cute, the table top had a lot of memorabilia protected by a glass top. There is a full bar with a friendly Bartender, who made great expresso martinis. I order the Honeybird benedict which was so yummy with Honey drizzle over the chicken & poached egg. I added a little hot sauce. The biscuits were so good & fluffy. I brought my cousin She had the biscuits & gravy which she loved and I had fried chick sandwich on a taro bun with lilikoi slaw. Which was so good The staff was so very nice and friendly. A great place to have brunch if you are in Waikoloa.
The service was friendly with a smile and very welcoming. Business was clean with quick service. The food was most excellent. The biscuits were flaky on the inside and crispy on the outside, best biscuits I've had and I've had lots of biscuits. The guava jelly was simply divine, excellent accompaniment to the biscuits. The banana pancakes were excellent as was the loco moco. The gravy on the loco moco was super tasty. An excellent experience.
Food is amazing! Service needs improvement. I visited three times and each time got a different server. The Hispanic server is the best server there. On my third visit I got the worst service , they took my food to another table and then took it back to the back and five minutes later my server brought it out again to us. She forgot to bring out utensils and we waited 5 minutes for them after we received our food which was cold. Then we reminded her about the sides we ordered and after 5 minutes we seen her at the register instead of getting our sides like we reminded her. She checked once and took forever to bring my husband a refill. I loved the food here and its definitely worth the wait but the service needs to be worked on. You should have utensils given to you when sat down. Note we went during a weekday not the weekend. The service on my last visit made me not want to return.
We had Drew today for a waiter. I heard their fried rice was good so I order a side order of rice along with an egg. My husband had the biscuit and gravy. We along slip a biscuit with honey butter and a lilkoi butter. Everything was real delicious it was way better than the last time I came. It was pretty busy too.
We went there for our last day's breakfast. We had to wait for 15 minutes to get seated. Once seated staff welcome us smiling and got us started with coffee and juice. Juice was freshly squeezed and one of the best glass of orange juice I have had in usa. Coffee was great too. We ordered Ube cinnamon roll, Moa - fried chicken with eggs on biscuits, and one chicken sandwich with fries. Everything was awesome. All tastes were yummiest possible. We loved everything. Staff was also great and had a very nice vibes around them. We felt we should have come here earlier as it definitely requires several visits. Definitely recommending.
After years, it is wonderful to finally have a good breakfast place in Waikoloa again. This place took the spot of a beloved restaurant that closed up over the past year at the top end of Queens marketplace. While this doesn't have the same scenery of some of the other breakfast places I enjoy on island, it is much closer and so it is a very welcome addition to my eating experience on the big island. For my breakfast, I had the Pua'a which is a biscuit with gravy that has Portuguese sausage and Kahlúa pig. I got a side of their meat fried rice, and all of it was delicious. I had a good sized portion and could easily shared my breakfast. For my cocktail I had the Kai Tai which should be thought of as a Mai tai with coconut rum and a delicious foam. Our service was exceptional, our waitress had great recommendations and was very attentive.
We had heard this was the spot for breakfast and boy it did not disappoint. My partner said it was the best meal he had on the island. We walked in about 9AM to be greeted and seated right away. It wasn't super busy so our service was quick and attentive. We enjoyed omelets and biscuit flight with mimosas. The restaurant was pretty average loudness for the crowd eating there. They have some historical notes built into the table with pictures. We absolutely enjoyed the guava and lil oli butter for our biscuit flight. I need more guava in my life. We'd return when back to the island for our next anniversary trip.
My partner and I recently visited Kona Biscuit two days in a row for brunch. We ordered a lot of different things, including an omelette, the guava pancakes, the banana mac nut pancakes, and the coconut mac nut waffle. All of these entrées were very good--I think the waffle was perhaps the best. It was warm, soft, and coated in coconut syrup, with the macadamia nuts providing a nice contrast to the sweetness and a crunchiness to the texture. On both days, Megan waited on us, and she was super friendly on both occasions! We really appreciated the way that she referred to us as "regulars" when we showed up the second time--she said she often doesn't see tourists eat there more than once. This was a very memorable comment that made us feel welcomed. There was no wait and we ordered our food promptly in both cases. I will also say that the "flight" of biscuits is seriously delicious--the lilikoi and guava syrups and cinnamon butter that accompany them are quite good--while the drip coffee (Kona coffee I believed) was also a perfect complement to the food. The place felt clean and new, and both of us liked the archival documents about Hawaii that were below the glass on our table.
This is a place where the employees just seem like they love where they work- so upbeat and friendly. Originally my husband was just going to get the biscuits and gravy but our server suggested the Pua'a and he ordered it and loved it. He could not stop talking about all the flavors. The chicken and waffles was good- I had to ask for extra syrup because they were a little dry- but tasty. This was a great experience and we will be back.
Ordered a breakfast biscuit sandwich plate to go as we headed out to the airport. The staff in front seemed to be confused on how to do this so there was a bit of a wait and we were not offered a bag or utensils. The food was delicious and wished we had time to visit for a proper breakfast. The biscuit and so fluffy and buttery. Definitely bookmarking this for our next visit.
Service and drinks were good but this meal is the worst we have had in our 8 days visiting. And given the higher end prices, I would expect a better experience. I had the loco moco and the gravy had no flavor, the eggs were undercooked, and the hamburger patty was so red that my rice was pink from the blood. My son had the chicken fried steak and it was a similar story. The Works Bloody Mary was amazing. The orange juice was also great, but also $13 a glass and not very big for a large. I would not go again, unless it was just to get a Bloody Mary.
Brand new spot that we were lucky enough to try on day one. Homemade biscuits, locally sourced ingredients, and everything made in house. We had 'The Pua'a', the Kalua Pork Benedict, and Mac Nut Coconut Waffle The Pua'a and the Kalua were tremendous and the waffle was stupendous. The waffle was cooked just perfectly, and was a little on the sweet side. The kicker was the pure maple syrup. For kicks I had a Bloody Mary, but only because it was also house made, and it had a perfect kick to it. Great place, give it a chance and allow for it to find its stride.

Major wow factor , HUGE portions, would recommend sharing . The biscuits are actually so good, super buttery and soft not too crispy or baked on the outside . Came here a couple times in the morning and never encountered a wait . Staff and manager is super friendly . They have high chairs for kids and super friendly with children too. It's a lot better now. I think they hired some new people who were actually kind to us and didn't hate us for being locals. Food was good. The Honeybird Benedict has a great balance of flavor and texture, especially when you get it with the potatoes. I can taste the lilikoi and it's not overpowering, it really works with the rest of the savory flavors. I do still kind of wish there was a bit more to the keiki menu. I think it was just a single scrambled egg and it could've used another egg. read more
Kona Biscuit is a great option for breakfast. We went two days in a row. The place seems popular. Even though it was crowded, we were seated quickly. After ordering, the food took a bit of time to come out. Maybe everyone ordered at the same time. The food itself was great! I had a biscuit that was loaded with pulled pork, bacon and gravy covered with an egg with a side of spam. We also ordered the Ube cinnamon roll which was a nice treat. My son who said he wouldn't try Ube ended up eating the majority of it. Probably best thing overall, there is a golden doodle in the back named Ted. He was behind a window, but was greeting folks as they walked by. To sum up, if you have "some time" this place is a great option. Service read more

Best breakfast in Waikoloa! The service was spot on. Friendly, helpful, and great atmosphere. We ordered biscuits and gravy and the brown sugar, black pepper bacon. Portions are huge and priced very reasonably. I hope they open more and other locations. read more

Our wait was stated to be 15-20 minutes but we waited around 45-1hr. They haven't been open for very long so it's understandable. During our time there, they weren't anticipating the traffic so they were a little slow. Pricing for food is decent. Food is good, loved the biscuit sandwich with extra gravy on the side. read more

I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could for breakfast/ lunch. Service was great, food was great, pricing was really good for Waikaloa, but food service was a little slow. They have just opened and I think they are getting things figured out. I ordered the Pua'a biscuit and I am excited to go back and order it again, really good! My wife ordered a veggie omelette and she loved it. We will be spending more time here working our way through some of the exciting menu choices. Highly recommend. We will also try their dinner menu which is available Thursday through Saturday read more

Biscuits and Cinnamon rolls are pricy but the best on the big island in my opinion. They also open up for dinner service and feature a prime ribs dinner so we tried that and unfortunately it was dry and lacked flavor plus for $65 not worth it. Go for breakfast and you won't be disappointed! read more

I wish I would have taken photos before but we were starving and dove in. Food was amazing, truly the best breakfast we had on our trip. My wife had the big breakfast plate and the pork was amazing, juicy, full of flavor and the right amount of salt. I had the Kamuela chicken fried steak, biscuit and fried rice...carb overload ha ha. Loved the bacon in the fried rice, gravy excellent and prices reasonable for the area. In the Queens shop area, for us a great stop on the way out of the resort area. Would highly recommend, add this place to your list. I also had a great conversation with the owner, loved hearing about the history of the recipes, cooking methods and clear passion for this. As a foodie I love learning about the kitchen side of my food and experience was top notch. read more

The food was delicious, especially the biscuits. Portions were generous (the cinnamon rolls were huge) and we were all very happy with our choices. Our server was attentive and it's a cute restaurant with more hidden dining areas than what you initially see. read more

Visited for breakfast and everything we ordered was delicious! My sister and I both got biscuits of course. The Pua'a came with Portuguese sausage, brown sugar bacon, kalua pig and an easy uber egg with the most delicious gravy and sweet potato medley. The Kamuela came with country fried steak, brown sugar bacon, cheese of choice, easy over egg and another delicious country gravy. We also shared a GIANT Ube cinnamon roll with browned butter cream cheese topping that was to die for!! We had to take the rest of it with us because we were so full from our yummy biscuits. Go early cause they get busy quick! read more
