    Buzz Bowl and Pistachio Coffee

We did a little road trip from our resort and wanted a snack so we found this great place and stopped in. Local small business operated by a great staff we enjoyed the Açaí and had the Buzz bowl and the Cacao Craze, the Plain Waffle and a great coffee called the Pistachio Latte. The menu included other dishes with their house made waffles in both savory and sweet versions. Staff were very nice and everything was very reasonably priced, a refreshing change from the resort prices we were paying for meals. I didn't get a chance to take photos of all the dishes because we had to eat in shifts so we could keep the grandkids happy. If You Know You Know! The waffles were outstanding and worth the wait. Great place to stop in and grab some of the many dishes and a beverage complete stop in Nd support this local business. Bon appetitto

A cute cafe with lots of breakfast/brunch options. The acai bowls are a 10/10 and something you need to try! I was a little bummed they ran out of bananas but the cashier was really nice and allowed me to get extra strawberries. If you're in Waimea this is the place. They have indoor seating as well.

Before arriving I saw tons of reviews saying the workers were rude. When we arrived the workers were young for sure but definitely not rude. Got in while empty and within a few minutes it was crowded. The seating area is cozy so I'd recommend taking your food to go. As far as the food - I think it's scrumptious! Nice and fresh made sandwiches, their ice ube latte was delicious as well, not so ube tasting but the flavoring compliments the coffee well. I devoured so didn't have a picture.

Came here to try their açaí bowls! You can add additional toppings - I added poi to mine. It wasn't worth though - there was only a little bit added to my bowl. The poi was really thin and didn't taste like anything. However, the acai bowl itself was very very good - I definitely would come back for it! I wanted to try some of their other savory lunch offerings but they were out of so many items.

This place is super cute. It's hidden in the back corner next to the Chinese restaurant. We nearly didn't find the spot and drove around a couple times. Had a breakfast Sammy, açaí bowl & smoothie. Yummmmmm!

We came in for breakfast and I had a Hina Rae's Açai bowl a half serving which was just the perfect size because I also ordered the two eggs cooked any style with meat. I had spam and Brown rice. Hubby had the same thing but with bacon. Oh yeah, they also had bread. Mine was sourdough one slice cut diagonally and then placed it in a waffle maker. They added strawberry jam and slap butter. I can't say I didn't like it, but it was just was different. Service was excellent. My hubby is a ketchup, sort of guy and they had it for him. There is seating inside. They ask you to bus your table.

This coffee shop is located in a small plaza with a pizza place, taco spot, and Merriman's. The plaza itself has plenty of parking even when it's on the busier side on a weekend morning, so it's not hard to find a spot. Inside the cafe, there's a retail section that sells clothing and small goods, and a separate side to place your order and sit and enjoy your drink. The interior is bright and welcoming with a minimalist vibe, and even when we visited on a weekend morning, it was easy to find seating either indoors or outdoors. Service was wonderful -- we were helped promptly by staff, and my drink came out quickly. I got the black sesame latte with a chocolate chip cookie. I thought my drink was perfect, as the flavor of the black sesame was nutty, pleasant, and just the right amount of sweetness paired with the espresso. The cookie was on the softer/puffier side, and although it's not my preferred texture, it wasn't too bad! To sum up, I really enjoyed dropping by to get coffee here, and I feel like the quality of the drinks at Surf Camp is consistent across their different locations. I'll definitely come back if I ever find myself on Big Island for another trip!

IF I HAD A COFFEE SHOP, I WOULD HAVE IT SIMILAR TO THIS. I love the curated products (clothing, food, drinks, accessories, etc) and how it was laid out in the store. It's so cute. I love it. It was a nice and bright, clean shop. But let's really talk about the coffee. THE. COFFEE. OKAY. When I saw that they serve ONYX, did I die on the inside? ABSOLUTELY. I LOVE ONYX. Immediately, I ran out of the bar area looking for my sister because she and I are ABSOLUTELY HUGE fans of Onyx. Did we freak out? Absolutely. It was probably the best cup of coffee I've had while on the big island. It was amazing. I would GLADLY drive 30 minutes one way just for this coffee shop. This is the ONLY coffee shop I've found in the entire state that serves onyx. I hope they never stop.

BEST FOOD ON THE ISLAND. As a seasoned traveler, local…read moretransplant, and self-proclaimed foodie, I will be the first to admit that some of the food on the island is not what visitors would get excited about. However, I would make a reservation and drive 2 1/2 hours for this place, and I am not exaggerating when I say that I think they have the BEST food on the island - I have been searching this island for good restaurants for the last 3 years. I had their lobster ravioli, a side of focaccia bread, a matcha lemonade, and tiramisu. EVERYTHING is made fresh here and the attention to detail and flavors is evident in every plate. The ravioli was surprisingly filling and I savored every bite. The pasta was perfectly al dente. And, the flavors, juicy lobster and creamy sauce were balanced just right. The sauce was so tasty I wanted to lick the plate. I thought about ordering a second side of bread to clean it off, but was able to practice self-control (barely lol). I won't go into detail about the drinks or dessert only because I could write a full essay. But, I will say that everything I had here was well-worth my investment and I will absolutely be making the drive back out here again soon. Of all the places on the island, I would say you MUST try this place. And, shoutout to Claudia and the servers for exceptional service. We are so lucky to have you on this island. Much mahalos for the amazing food and experience here. My friends, I will say it again- Cipriano's has the BEST food on the island. Stop what you are doing right now and make a reservation.

Tables are mainly outside with loud street traffic noise. We were brought water fairly quickly and had our menus to review. We then waited for 13 to 15 minutes until a young waitress returned answered our questions and we ordered some focaccia bread and three glasses of Sangiovese. $19 a glass for a very poor red wine and then seven dollars for six small pieces of focaccia bread. The least expensive wine by the bottle was $79. Their corkage fee if you brought your own bottle was a mind-boggling $179. We got our wine and bread in a reasonable time and then had to wait another 10 minutes to place an order. We were in the mood to have salad, but the least expensive was a Caesar, $25 for a small plate. We ordered two pasta dishes And one ravioli dish, which came with three cheese ravioli. The dishes in price ranged from $48-$56 each. Our food came out, reasonably on time. We requested some Parmesan cheese and olive oil for the side. The pasta was handmade, fresh and delicious. We very much enjoyed the entrées taste and presentation. One of the pasta dishes was just lukewarm when served. Our bill for three adults was $250 before tax and tip. While the food was excellent, we felt that the service and location, along with the ambience was not worth that price.
