Smash Daddy came highly recommended from a local we met at the resort in Waikoloa we were staying at. As someone originally from the Midwest, it's hard to turn down a good burger, so we had to try it. When I tell you this was arguably the best smash burger I've had in my life's I'm not lying. I ordered "The Dubs" which is basically a double smash burger with cheese. For the toppings, I ordered their smash sauce (insanely good!), onions, and pickles. The burgers also come with a side of salt and pepper fries by default, but I ordered some onions rings as well. The onion rings were cooked perfectly, with the onions being sweet, and the batter being a nice consistency and not too thick. The fries were also great, and I loved the thicker, more coarse pepper they use to season them. The place appears to do a great amount of business, but only judging by their reviews, but by the fact that it was very busy during dinner time. The atmosphere inside is very enjoyable, with a small bar up near the front counter, sports on some TVs in side, and live music (island themed) was also being played inside. If you want a great burger, this is your spot!

We enjoyed our burgers, they were flavorful and came out quickly. I think the special sauce has truffle and it elevated the burgers completely. Their onion rings were light and delicious. We also enjoyed their shakes. The staff are sweet and quick. We will definitely be back!
I was craving a burger and stopped here! Loved the customer service and food. First time and so glad I tried it. All of it was really good. I couldn't decide on fries or onion rings so he gave me half and half. So kind! Hope you enjoy it as .much as I did. I'll be back for the thick ass shakes!
Stopped by Smash Daddy's around 5:50 PM on a Wednesday. It was pretty empty when we arrived, but by the time we finished eating, the restaurant had slowly filled up. The restaurant was clean, and I liked that they had a nice variety of beers on tap. The burgers were really good, and I appreciated that most of the main toppings were already included. We both added bacon to our burgers for an extra charge, and it was definitely worth it--they gave us two large slices. I ordered the Solo Solo (single smash burger), and my boyfriend got the Trips (three patties). Our food came out in about 10 minutes, and the staff was friendly throughout our visit. If I'm ever back in the area and craving smash burgers, I'd definitely come back!
Duuude, on the Big Island our usual burger go to spot is Ultimate Burger but now we have this as a second go to because it's good AND closer to where we usually stay when we visit. Woot woot! Burgers are solid and true SMASH - with that thin, crispy edge patty (so always go for the double). Chicken burger crispy and surprisingly juicy. The environment has an easy and welcoming vibe - with some cheeky accents like an Ice T sticker for the ice tea dispenser from the soda dispenser! The folks that work there were super nice. One of the guys, Soren (spelling?) is originally from Boston. Super nice. Also, they have Guiness on tap!
This was our second time back, it was still a great and homey experience. The staff is super nice, the food came out quickly, and the burgers are amazing!
Smash Daddy's was super clean, fun decor, open layout and inviting. Order at the counter. The menu isn't large, but what they have, they do well! Basically, you order by the number of patties you want on your burger. All burgers come with delicious fries that you can upgrade to onion rings for $2. You can choose from several toppings (or have all of them) at no charge and there are a couple for an additional charge. I had the double patty with all the free toppings and I have to say it was the best burger I'd had in recent memory. The meat was crispy, but not dry and nicely seasoned. The toppings were well executed and everything just tasted good. The fries were thick cut and excellent with salt and pepper already on. No idea when I'll be back to Waikoloa, but you can bet I'll go back to Smash Daddy's when I'm in town again!
We were in the mood for casual dining but couldn't see paying $35 for an overpriced hotel loco moco. We heard about Smash Daddy's from other guests raving about the place. I'm not sure about the review complaining about shrink-inflation because for a $20 per person meal - with beef prices now days - it was a Big Island value. Everything came out fast, delicious, well-seasoned. Dad ordered the Trip, son had the Dub and I had the side Chick. Plus we had the pleasure of live entertainment with singer-songwriter - Rachel Smith - a Fri/Sat addition - delightful! Getting out of the resort bubble is a must and Smash Daddy's is a nice adventure.
Plentiful seating inside and some outside, with a bar in the back. Service was friendly. Food was good, burgers were juicy even though they were smash. Honestly kinda missed having more veggies like tomatoes in my burger and was surprised it wasn't an option to add. Fries were thick cut, didn't finish them all. Would go back!
Amazingly delicious burgers! I love how the meat gets all crispy on the edges! Our kids loved them too and we got fries and onion rings and both were so good. Also lots of T.V.s with different sport playing so you have something to look at while you wait.
Nice atmosphere, clean, stylish, good AC ;-). The burgers were indeed smashed and had a nice crunch to it. The pepper taste was a bit strong on the meat party for my liking. The onion rings were perfect and don't get me started on the milkshake! Super friendly people and loved the atmosphere. Would definitely come back.

This place is amazing! Highly recommend checking it out. The owner personally took our order, and you could immediately tell how passionate he is about the food they're making. We had been having a hard time finding really good food on the island outside of poke and sushi, so this place was a great find. Everything we had was delicious, and we'll probably be back again before the end of our trip! It's also located in a nice shopping area with plenty of other restaurants and stores nearby. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area! read more

All I can say is wow! I'm not kidding when I tell you this is the best burger I've ever had! We heard about this burger spot from some people at our hotel and after a week of eating Hawaiian food, we decided to switch it up. When we walked in, it was very lively, with a singer and guitarist, and most tables were full! We decided to split a double cheeseburger with onion rings along with a side of fries. The burger was SO good, it was thin but also filling at the same time. The onion rings were super tasty and the fries were also very good! Overall great experience. We went to Smash Daddy's hoping to get something decent to eat, and boy were we in for a surprise! I got The Dubs and was shocked with how flavorful the burger was. It wasn't too oily and the burger itself tasted great! The edges of the burger was nice and crispy, and you could actually tell that the patty was a "brisket blend." We also got french fries and onion rings -- both were crispy and went perfectly with the amazing burger. Vibe: The restaurant is large with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The workers were very friendly and the service was fast. Parking: There's a huge free parking lot in the shopping complex that Smash Daddy's is located in. read more

Smash burger was excellent! I added blue cheese and went with the Frings which is a half fries and half onion rings combo. Crunchy and not soggy like most places. Beer on tap and boozy adult milk shakes available too. read more

Came out an a trip to the big island. I'm not too big of a fan at where we're staying. It's so sparse, and not the prettiest side. I don't enjoy these trips usually, because they're depressing. The places usually best kept and dominating business are all big business corporations and resorts and such. And I'm just not a beach person. I come for my family though. Anyway, I needed to say that to set up for my review. This place is the highlight of my trip. Small location. Cutesy interior. Plain, but they work with what they got. The live music is kinda loud, but at least the talented is actually talented. It's cozy enough, with some benches outside if necessary. The bigger - I got the dubs, a double smash burger. Holy crap. The flavor is impeccable. Normally im not overly fond, but the cooks found that right crisp without over charring the meat. And the cheese is so melty and perfect. Nice cut bacon, not overcooked and not paper thin. The buns a typical brioche I believe, which is always great. A bonus for me - I'm a picky eater, if you couldn't tell by my previous rant. If I'm not mistaken, I think the burgers are ordered plain by default? I ordered, then they asked what toppings I would like, which never happens. All burger places have their menu preplanned, with toppings per item. It was refreshing to not have to say I want my burger plain, and wonder if I was maybe misheard, or anything of that sort. The fries are typical fries - but that's not to knock them. Unlike most places, these come seasoned lightly with black pepper, and I love that. I don't think they use much salt in the kitchen for the fries, but that's fine. You want salt? Add salt. Everything here just seems so considerate and high quality. The staff was fabulous, and everything seems to be in order. I wish the best for this place. 10/10 from me. read more

Searching for a good burger and a place to watch game two of the NBA Finals, I did a quick Yelp search and came across a burger joint called Smash Daddy's with near-perfect reviews. A 10 minute walk from our Airbnb, my wife and I embarked on the short trip. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by the nostalgic sounds of early 2000's hip hop/r&b. An employee at the counter greeted us and we proceeded to order the following: Black and Blue Dubz burger (burger of the week for my wife), The Dubs (for me), and two frozen Mai Tai's. First out was our Mai Tai's, which were delicious and a nice contrast against the fairly humid weather. Our food orders arrived at our table roughly 10 minutes later; however, my wife's order was missing the requested added bacon. When I brought this to one of the employee's attention, she apologized and immediately had bacon added to the burger. While enjoying our tasty burgers, we watched the game on a huge television that is strategically placed in the restaurant in a way that everyone can view it. We enjoyed our experience at Smash Daddy's and loved seeing the employees joyfully engage with local, repeat customers. If you're looking for a delicious burger, fries, and an adult beverage (they had boozy milkshakes that were really popular); I recommend Smash Daddy's if you're craving a burger! read more
I've heard great things about Smash Daddy's and had to give their burgers a try! They're located at Waikoloa Plaza, which had tons of free parking and lots of other shops as well. I wasn't super hungry, so I just got the solo solo, which was a single party. I loved the crispy edges of the smash patty, which went well with their fluffy bread. Even the solo dolo came with an order of fries. I loved the fries because they were thick cut and peppery. There's a decent amount of seating inside, as well as some tables outside. The inside of the restaurant has a lot of character, with some interesting art decor. There were lots of TV screens playing different sports. I would definitely come back here to try one of their specialty burgers with additional toppings! read more

A delicious burger with delicious fries! Recently came here during a stay on the Big Island and was glad to have discovered Smash Daddy. I ordered a The Trips with grilled onion, pickles, and smash sauce on the side. The burger comes with fries that can be upgraded to onion rings. The burger was fantastic. The Trips comes with three smashed patties that are perfectly seasoned. The fries are salt and pepper fries that are fried to crispy perfection. The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back in on our next visit to Big Island. read more

We were wanting to try something we hadn't had before so we found this on Yelp. It was 5:00 on a Saturday and the restaurant was pretty empty so we didn't expect much. We ordered our burgers and were so happy when we bit into them. They were delicious! The fried pickles aren't on the menu but someone else posted a picture so my husband ordered them as well. They were so good and crispy. The fries and onion rings were amazing and I ate most of mine before I even tasted my burger. I ordered blue cheese crumbles on mine and they must have forgotten to put them on because I didn't taste any on there unfortunately. But we all loved our food and gave it two thumbs up. Yes it's greasy, but it made the burgers crispy, moist and flavorful and I didn't find it overly greasy. We would totally go back again! read more
Smash Daddy's has the best happy hour in west Hawaii hands down. Their cheese curds are perfection. It's counter service but they are super friendly and thoughtful. I was in the Big Island during March 2025, and while staying at HILTON GRAND VACATIONS KINGS LAND At Waikoloa, we were wondering what to eat for lunch on a Sunday and we stumble upon SMASH DADDY's While checking out PUDGEE PANDA dessert spot the day before on a Saturday. Parking - Bruh as for PARKING you don't have too Worry about parking lots I mean lots of PARKING STALLS and of course Yes It free parking which is always the best. Service here at SMASH DADDY's was pretty good I'd say the staff was helpful at the cash register area where customers would put in their orders, also the staff kindly brings out your FOOD to your Table on where you would be sitting also they can locate you by ur ORDER NUMBER That's placed on your table ur sitting at. FOOD - The SMASH BURGERS was amazing they were so good also that onion rings for $2.00 more is well worth it and they give a lot of onion rings as you can see in my photos I posted. One things we wish they had was ice cream to make their shakes they were out the day we checked them out on a Sunday, so hopefully next time we there we can sample their ice cream shakes. If your in Waikoloa resort area it's only a 10 min drive up Waikoloa village approx. and it's a nice drive back and forth. We have been enjoyed Smash Daddy's many times. We have brought big parties, families, and date nights. Dine-in or take out are equally great. The service and food are consistently on point. Live music on the weekends. Ono burgers, fries, and shakes. Smash sauce is your best friend and great on fries too. Indoor and outdoor dining is clean and functional. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual. They have their focused menu figured out! If you're looking for a good burger-Just do it! You won't be disappointed. 50/50 is my go to. They do have a Vegan option available. I don't often give 5 star reviews. They've earned it again and again. read more

My boyfriend and I had landed late into Kona and wanted to grab a late dinner, we stumbled upon Smash Daddy's since it was recommended and they opened till 9PM. We were recommended their: 50/50 Dub Smoker - which is a mixed blend of their meats: waygu, brisket, and pork (that is smoked in Kona). We added the following toppings: smash sauce (which is an aioli), grilled jalapenos, lettuce, grilled onions, and pickles. The burger patties reminded me of smash burgers since it was a thick patty, but the portions were a good size. For our sides we got salt and pepper fries, which were perfectly crisped and fried to perfection. I would rate the burger an 8/10, the burger was good but it didn't pop or had anything that was distinct in flavor. The patty was good and had some fatty-taste to it, and the aioli went well with it. I would pick this burger over an In N' Out burger in California. If the 50/50 sounds too much, they are also known for The Dubs which consist of 2 blend brisket patties w/ American Cheese. read more

I got the double burger and it was delicious. Onion rings were also great. The fries were a bit too salty. The shakes are made with real ice cream and were excellent. They didn't say anything to us for bringing in my daughter's Domino's pizza since she doesn't like burgers. read more
My family loved our stop at Smash Daddys! We ordered and less than 10 minutes later, we got everything, shake, burgers, onion rings etc. The smash sauce is so good, not too much mayo, fries were crispy but also soft inside. Food was a great price as well as just well cooked. Love the music and the art inside. Everyone said "10/10!" read more
