Chicken Pad Thai and Cream Cheese Wonton
    Hallie O.

Grabbed takeout for dinner. Food was great. The cream cheese wontons were not my favorite that I've ever had... but the pad Thai was great. I ordered on Uber Eats and it was ready by the time I got there. Customer service was good. Street parking was free and easy to find. I was able to park quick, pick up my food, and leave without having to walk far. Prices were also great!

I'm vegan & gluten free so I get very excited when I can find pad thai that's safe for me to eat. Ordered takeout and clicked the gf and vegan options. Much to my disappointment, I picked up plain tofu and plain rice noodles. $5 worth of food I could make myself but paid $17 for. No sauce whatsoever. I understand vegan and gf is difficult, but do not offer it if you're not prepared to actually do it. Other places around the cities have no problem doing it. Shocked someone would think that this is what I intended to order and didn't call to check.

No frills restaurant that's super reliable! The staff is super kind and the food is always good! Great portions for prices it's a great value. I grab takeout from here at least once a month. The food is ready WITHIN 15 MINUTES so it's super quick! It's my ultimate comfort food spot. The peanut curry with tofu or shrimp is so flavorful! I also love their Tom Kha it's some of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend the Pad See Ew (if you're needing some comfort food). I don't recommend the fried rice, however I've only tried the veggie fried rice. It's just not amazing.

Always friendly, quick. I get the Panang Curry med. spice with tofu to go. Consistent each time. Now they have a lunch menu. Ambiance could be improved storage boxes left out etc, but otherwise a great take-out place.

Being Southeast Asian I am a sucker for Thai food or pretty much anything with fish sauce lol I was a bit hesitant to try this place though because I'm a huge critic when it comes to Thai or Lao food. My party of 4 and I came here for dinner on a weeknight. We noticed right away that the dishes were a bit higher then other Thai places (papaya salad was almost $10, I know I could get papaya for $6 at most places) but no biggy. We ended up ordering the chicken wings, wontons and veggie egg rolls to start. Then carried on to lo mein, pad Thai, red curry and pad see ew. Everything was really just oily...too oily it reminded me of classic Americanized Chinese food. Our lo mein was soggy, the pad Thai wasn't sour or salty- really just sweet. The others were sad too. Honestly we only ate half of our dishes and didn't bother to take the leftovers home. Although our favorite was the spicy wings- they weren't spicy in my book but still delicious and the most flavorful dish we had there. I'm not too sure I would go back anytime soon. And of course parking sucks lol Street parking only.

We recently ate here again. The first time, it was very busy both with take out and dine in business (there are only 4 tables, but also only one server / take out person). We received much better service the first time. On our second visit, service was very slow. We were told it was because they were so busy, but it was considerably less busy than the first time we were there. Perhaps the first time there was more help in the back. I'm not sure. But I would have thought one person could handle one table and 2 take out orders in the hour we were there. (We were told it was very busy right when we got there, so we were expecting a lot of take out orders coming in, but they didn't.) Their food is quite good. If you live in the area, I would recommend getting take out. It isn't a very good place to dine in. As other reviewers have mentioned, you can't even get a glass of water! But, on the plus side, absolutely nothing was served in plastic, which is a huge pet peeve of mine for dining in.

First I must say the lady who served and worked in the front was sooooo sweet and adorable! She was too cute! Beef red curry was tasty (could've been less sweet and more spicy though). Hot tea was delicious where I didn't need any creamer, sugar, or honey.

Waiting for my take out food...

Food was lovely. I had Penut Curry pork. Served quickly and food was deliciously hot (temp) spicyness was appropriate for the dish.

My opinions are just as much rooted in the emotion attached to each bite. We live in Texas but spend lots of time in the Twin Cities. I'm a vegetarian, so I put off going to Diane's Place because it felt like the options for me were relatively limited. Boy, am I kicking myself for waiting! I told my wife after our first meal at Diane's Place this weekend that I compared the first bite (which happened to be the green scallion croissant) to my responses to certain music. As a musician and audiophile, hearing something moving or stirring can illicit a very visceral emotional response. I experienced a very similar response with that very first bite. My appreciation for the art of cuisine brought to perfection by Diane Moua literally caused my eyes to well up. This may sound like hyperbole, but it is not. The egg rolls were light and crispy and oddly nostalgic. The bamboo & cabbage swimming in coconut curry was my entree. On its own, it is perfectly balanced with the right amount of salt, acid, and umami. I tacked on some sticky rice and Hmong hot sauce...use with caution! It's potent but so delicious. Given Diane's background in pastry, don't skip dessert! We loved our experience so much on Sunday for dinner that we very quickly made a brunch reservation for Tuesday.
