My partner and I are visiting Minneapolis from Chicago and ordered delivery from this place based on the 4.5 yelp review rating. I ordered the veggie egg rolls and pad Thai with tofu. The spring rolls were good, perfectly cooked, the dipping sauce was delicious. The pad Thai unfortunately was very bland, and tasted like peanuts and noodles. The noodles were a little drier than I prefer, there was no evidence of eggs, and no flavor. My partner got the veggie lo mein, which he finished completely and said was pretty good. I thought it had a funny smell to it. He also ordered spring rolls which were huge. He ate one of the 2, and said they were ok. So between the two of us, his food was good and mine I only ate a few bites of the pad thai and won't be finishing it. This is my favorite neighborhood Thai place. The food is always delicious and the service always quick, whether eating in or getting takeout. The family who owns this place is so nice and they are always kind and friendly. They also just renovated the inside and it looks so good! I have lived within walking distance of here for years and I'm going to be so sad when I move away. The portion sizes are great for the price and they have lots of fun extras as well; I would recommend the Thai iced coffee. read more

Ahh one of my fav thai places in MN! I personally always get their pad-kee-mao and red curry! Their noodle dishes (pad see ww!) are the best in the twin cities i believe. They also have really nice pineapple fried rice. They also do delivery so I sometimes get delivery for lunch! The only downside is they do serve the hot curry in a plastic container when you are ordering to-go. just fyi, if you are conscious trying to reduce the microplastics consumption. read more

Grabbed takeout for dinner. Food was great. The cream cheese wontons were not my favorite that I've ever had... but the pad Thai was great. I ordered on Uber Eats and it was ready by the time I got there. Customer service was good. Street parking was free and easy to find. Much to my disappointment, I picked up plain tofu and plain rice noodles. $5 worth of food I could make myself but paid $17 for. No sauce whatsoever. I understand vegan and gf is difficult, but do not offer it if you're not prepared to actually do it. Other places around the cities have no problem doing it. No frills restaurant that's super reliable! The staff is super kind and the food is always good! Great portions for prices it's a great value. I grab takeout from here at least once a month. The food is ready WITHIN 15 MINUTES so it's super quick! It's my ultimate comfort food spot. The peanut curry with tofu or shrimp is so flavorful! I also love their Tom Kha it's some of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend the Pad See Ew (if you're needing some comfort food). Being Southeast Asian I am a sucker for Thai food or pretty much anything with fish sauce lol I was a bit hesitant to try this place though because I'm a huge critic when it comes to Thai or Lao food. My party of 4 and I came here for dinner on a weeknight. We noticed right away that the dishes were a bit higher then other Thai places (papaya salad was almost $10, I know I could get papaya for $6 at most places) but no biggy. We ended up ordering the chicken wings, wontons and veggie egg rolls to start. Then carried on to lo mein, pad Thai, red curry and pad see ew. Everything was really just oily...too oily it reminded me of classic Americanized Chinese food. Our lo mein was soggy, the pad Thai wasn't sour or salty- really just sweet. The others were sad too. Honestly we only ate half of our dishes and didn't bother to take the leftovers home. Although our favorite was the spicy wings- they weren't spicy in my book but still delicious and the most flavorful dish we had there. I'm not too sure I would go back anytime soon. Update: we came back and did try the Massaman curry hinted at in my original review and it was delicious, with a rich sauce and flavors to match. In addition, we had curried fried rice. The flavor was only so-so (I was hoping for a stronger curry flavor), but there were lots of vegetables and mock duck in it, moreso than most other places. A couple of downsides from our recent visit: 1) the server forgot our appetizer, but did apologize a lot for it. We got it after our main course and 2) they don't have tap water there... if you want water, you need to buy bottled water. I'm not sure why-- no glasses? No pitchers? We don't remember having this issue last time. That was a letdown, since we don't like bottled water or sugary drinks, usually. read more

We recently ate here again. The first time, it was very busy both with take out and dine in business (there are only 4 tables, but also only one server / take out person). We received much better service the first time. On our second visit, service was very slow. We were told it was because they were so busy, but it was considerably less busy than the first time we were there. Perhaps the first time there was more help in the back. I'm not sure. But I would have thought one person could handle one table and 2 take out orders in the hour we were there. (We were told it was very busy right when we got there, so we were expecting a lot of take out orders coming in, but they didn't.) Their food is quite good. If you live in the area, I would recommend getting take out. It isn't a very good place to dine in. As other reviewers have mentioned, you can't even get a glass of water! But, on the plus side, absolutely nothing was served in plastic, which is a huge pet peeve of mine for dining in. read more

I had a backyard happy hour on a Thursday and we were having too much fun... all of a sudden we realized we forgot to place our food order for dinner! All of our usual places were closed, but Thai Cuisine Xpress said we could make an exception and took our order for pick up at 7:55 pm on a Thursday. We got Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao - wow I'm so glad we missed our usual places and ordered here! It was delicious, and somehow still the perfect temperature even though it was take out. This was the first time we ordered take out from this restaurant. Great experience with calling in the order, the man understood what I wanted and gave me an approximate time my order would be ready. We ordered beef pad see ew, shrimp pad Thai, shrimp rolls, and pork egg roll. The beef pad see ew was loaded with vegetables and beef, I would have liked to see more noodles. The shrimp pad Thai was delicious and fresh tasting. The shrimp rolls were perfectly fried and came with a homemade sauce with a hint of mandarin orange in it, very delicious. The pork rolls were huge, three to an order and also came with a tangy homemade peanut/fish sauce dip, though it was delicious it was also very greasy. Glad to discover this little spot not far from home! Not sure how I have missed it previously. Online ordering was smooth, and the order completed quickly. I can imagine the street parking is a pain during busy hours, but it was not a problem for me at the time or my order, just before dinner rush. I ordered a few favorites to sample and was pleased with all items. The Tom yum soup was very good. It leaned toward being sweet, but still had enough citrus. I just wimped out on asking for enough heat to complete the Thai flavor trio of sweet/tart/hot, so I will ask for more spice next time. Fresh spring rolls and veggie egg rolls were winners! Those classic appetizers are not always executed with care, but neither of these seemed like afterthoughts and the portions were fair. Chicken satay was good, though I do wish they included the cucumbers many places provide with this dish. Sauces for the appetizers were again a bit on the sweeter side, but were fine. This is definitely a hidden gem in the wall located near U of M. It is a family run business and the restaurant is so cute. Parking can be a hassle since it's only street parking and the restaurant is located right at a corner intersection. On the other hand, food was delicious. Their fresh spring rolls were bomb dot com! I love the fresh mint. Most restaurants don't put mint in their spring rolls. The pad Thai was also delicious! And let me tell you, when I said I wanted heat at extra spicy, they really made it extra spicy! Lol. They do not play with their spice levels. Ask for extra spicy if you want that Asian heat! so, I ordered the won ton puffs. I was so disappointed because that's the biggest thing I like from most Asian food. I ordered the panko veggies which I ate 3/4 of them I was so hungry. The problem is in my opinion they should have been more tender. The most disgusting and disappointing thing is the veggies every time i or one in my mouth even though I dipped them in the VERY DELICIOUS plum sauce, I could smell fish. It was gross. I've only eaten here once, and had high hopes. I ordered fresh spring rolls, pork egg rolls, and Tom Yum shrimp soup. Everything was one note in flavor - sweet. Even though I do like the sweet/savory depth of flavor in Thai food, it was sorely lacking in everything I ordered. The fish sauce which went with the egg rolls was like sugar water and I was unable to finish the Tom Yum because of the overwhelmingly cloying sweetness. This is the spice this area has been missing. It's as good or better than driving to mpls or St. Paul for Thai. I had the veggie green curry, it had lots of flavor and spice- super yummy! The whole family loved the pineapple fried rice. I don't eat meat, but the kids gave the chicken satay "100 thumbs up". My husband got the pad Thai, it was really classic style and tasty, the only thing is he prefers it spicy. We didn't request any spice level, just wanted to see how it came the first time.
