Meaty pork strips coated with thin batter, each piece is wrapped in a glossy sauce and sprinkled with white sesame. Perfect dish to go with rice. Double Cooked Pork Slices: Classic Sichuan-style dish. The pork belly is first boiled, then stir-fried again with chili bean paste and green bell pepper. Very flavorful and savoury, another great dish to go with rice. Soy Sauce Fried Rice: One of my fav childhood dishes, and they delivered very well. It's such a huge portion that we could only finish it in two days. Service was great, considerate and friendly. They even pour water for you before you sit down and pack up the leftovers for you after you finish. You might have to wait if you don't have a reservation, but the turnaround is pretty fast. Wait list is old school...someone writes your name and number in a notebook and you are called when your table is ready. The interior is reminiscent of the old school taverns you see in those old Chinese movies where the traveller has spent days walking or on a horse and comes upon a tavern where the interior is all wooden tables and benches. Dining style and dishes are all family style. You order a couple of dishes and then add rice. Spice level can be adjusted and even at 'less' the heat level was high. Definitely generous use of Szechwan peppercorns! Food is very flavourful and depending on preference some might find the oil level high. The clientele is mainly Mandarin speaking and if you are Asian they will immediately communicate in Mandarin with you but I did see the staff switch to English where needed. Service was patient and attentive.

All the Szechuan favorites are represented in the menu, including a few others that are rather more rare - but be assured the tongue numbing sichuan pepper is well represented and plenty. We got my favorite fried chicken with dried peppers. Plenty of dried peppers ensured every bite came with punch. Sliced beef and tripe - the heat on this one was toned down, so all about flavor with generous herbs and peanuts. The tripe was cooked very well. A sign of a good cook is treating offal very well and ensuring proper cleaning prior to cooking and it was adhered to perfection. My favorite of the lot. Boiled sliced tilapia with sichuan peppers - served in the dish it was boiled in, the fish was fresh. The fish is cut more rustic, so be aware of bones as you're making your way through it. Also thought this was the spiciest of the lot, with the heady sichuan seeds omnipresent in every bite. The food came to the table at a steady pace, the service was excellent overall.

*Uber Delivery Review*…read more My first time but not the last time! I love spicy food, the more spicy the better. Red & Hot is my kind of restaurant. The 2 dishes we ordered were perfect as delivery items as they best served room temperature. The items were well packed. Extra care was taken to ensure leakage. It could have been such a mess if all the Chilli oil spilled during delivery. I love both the chicken and beef dish. They both spicy but I can still tasted the different layer of flavour. What leftovers 2 days later were just as good. Good value for your money for authentic Szechuanese food. I will try dine in next time!

This is a nice little dumpling spot in Times Square at Leslie and Highway 7 in Richmond Hill…read more I was pleasantly surprised at the experience. We ordered 1. Steamed seafood dumplings 2. Hot and sour soup 3. Sliced beef wrap For the dumplings, you could tell they were homemade and they were delectable. The skin was soft and thin and fresh. And the filling was awesome. For the hot and sour soup, the ingredients were crisp showing the freshness of the ingredients. It too was awesome. For the beef wrap, it was ok, probably wouldn't order again as it came out cold. Nonetheless, the place is amazing. I came at lunch and was debating on coming for dinner in the same day. It was that good. All in all, this is an easy recommendation So come one come all to this home style cooking establishment

The dumplings are always solid including the steamed and pan fry options. The hot and sour soup is also good. As well as the green onion pancake, cold noodle with sesame sauce, stir fry noodle, and garlic pork. Not a huge fan of the beef braised noodle - the soup wasn't good and bland. And the wonton seaweed soup also didn't have a lot of flavours to it. I came with a group of 7 people and came to around $25 per person after tips and tax. We all left very full and had a small box of take out with us.

Here's what we got: Cucumber side dish 4/5 - Pretty good side dish to share. Pretty standard. Chicken skin 5/5 - LOVED this as the skin was very crispy and delicious. Lamb and beef skewers 5/5 - Both of these were a score for me. I loved these, it had great fat to meat ratio and had a nice taste to it. Stir fry hand cut noodles 5/5 - Chewy noodles that were perfectly fried with cabbage and meat. Great for sharing. Fried eggplant 5/5 - Probably what they are most known for. Everyone raves about this candied eggplant dish, and although it was very good, it does get heavy to eat since it's sweet. Century egg + eggplant 10/5 - I absolutely LOVED this appetizer. They bring it out for you to see it first before asking if you'd like them to mash the ingredients together. It's not the most appetizing look to a dish but the flavours are well blended, delicious and the perfect amount of spice. Cabbage 5/5 - Perfectly seasoned and delicious cabbage on a stick. Chives 5/5 - Great amount of chives served that was well seasoned and tasted delicious with any meat skewer. Overall, loved this spot and will absolutely be bback for more of the appetizers and skewered meats.

And true to its name, this Chinese restaurant is all about that. Whether it be spicy hot or piping hot dishes. We visited a third time for an abundance of spicy food. The signature dish that jumped out at us was the $11.95 Chongqing Spicy Deep Fried Chicken. The dish came fast and furious out of the kitchen. This chicken was crisp & tender with decent seasoning under a mountain of dried chilli peppers, and had sugar to balance. It was still on the salty side as northern cuisine is heavy & bold. This time we tried the $13.99 Szechuan Sliced Fish with Pickled Vegetables, in a huge cauldron of heated broth. We should have ordered with the fresh fish instead of the sliced basa. $8.95 Pork Slices in Spicy Sauce was a classic which we didn't pass on. And surprisingly, a large bowl of $9.99 Minced Meat Thick Soup was a crowd pleaser to balance out the heat. All in all, this is a good Chinese restaurant to visit when looking for spicy comfort food with an extra dash of salt. The menu remains very affordable so your tum's guaranteed to leave here feeling full if nothing else. Hot taste fitting for our frigid winter stretch yet again!

The taste is authentic, the portion is good enough for two people I'd say. The service was great as the two waiters were attentive and taking care of all the customers very carefully. The best part other than the taste - the price! I ordered one Gongbao chicken, two rice and still it was just $16! And when I left the tip, they brought the change that I refused to take. They don't even expect tips! Note - they told me they take cash only. I had to go to the atm to get the cash. So, better be mindful and ask on phone in advance if they are accepting cards or not. No music, but still very peaceful. There's ample parking available outside. I will pay a visit again, and again, and again!
