The basa fillets are cooked with eggplants in a mala (spicy numbing) soup base which tastes delicious spooned over a bed of warm rice. Even though it looks really spicy, its really not that bad unless you bite into one sichuan peppercorns, which do have a bit of a numbing effect . We always get the dry fried beans which are packed with flavor from the chilli peppers. Another favorite is the beef and tripe in chili sauce, which is a cold appetizer dish. As you can see, this time they were a bit stingy with the chili sauce as I prefer to have it drenched in the sauce. Even though I know the fish is frozen and not fresh and the quality could be better, I still have yet to find a place that serves similar dishes with the same consistency.

They are finally accepting dine in at this location after Ontario opened stage 3. Social distancing, disinfect, temperature check and asking for customer's name and number when dining in at this place during covid. Lovely dishes and love their fish soup! Everything is good except, This place only take debit for payment!

Before you head to the restaurant, check the Yelp waitlist first and join it beforehand if there's a lineup. We were still 30 mins away but joined the waitlist as the wait time was around the same as our travel time. Although the waitlist said we had to wait till approx 8:09 for our table, we had to wait maybe 15 minutes more as these things vary depending if any customer was leaving. Maybe on the weekday it won't be as busy as we came on as Sat night. For the menu, they offer some appetizers, rice dishes, and their spicy pots. Some of them come in soup and some are dry, be sure to confirm with your server if you're not sure. It was a bit hard to communicate because the servers mainly spoke mandarin and their English was not as good; maybe use google translate if there's a big communication issue. After ordering, the food takes around 20 minutes at least, and be prepared, the pots are huge! We got the marrying 4, and the portion of it was at least 3 times of my head! It's a very good shareable if you can't finish it on your own (some people can), and for the price you pay, it's a good size. Marrying 4 comes with lamb, pork, beef and shrimp, and there was a good portion of each in the bowl. The spice definitely had a kick, but I'd say an aromatic spicy kick. All the meat inside were very flavourful and juicy despite being fried. I was very satisfied with my food and definitely will come again! :)

First Impressions ============= Bustling, full house at night, huge bowls of food everywhere I look. Food ==== We ordered a signature beef bowl and it is HUUUUGE. Seriously that bowl can feed (4) of me. It's an order for (2). Love it! The spice and seasoning are great, we really both loved the taste. Would we come back? ================= Definitely! Four Thumbs up!

Came here with friends after work. First thing when we enter the restaurant I notice it's super extremely cold inside. The owner seems trying to save the money so they do not turn on the heat. Also they only serve cold water. Which does not help to warm up at all. The food is not very impressive, we order their signature spicy pot- Meat lover pot. We add extra toppings: cabbage and lotus root. Each cost 2 bucks. Fine... but they don't give you enough portion only few slices. Also it's not spicy at all. All we tasted was really oily and a lot MSG. We end up eating very fast and get out of the restaurant and go other places to drink some hot drinks to warm up the body also get rid of the irritation from the MSG in food. Definitely ruin our night because of this please!

Dinner with friends at this new joint @hotopia_canada in Richmond Hill area. I can't handle too much chilli and peppercorn, they do accommodate us with a mild version. Still spicy but manageable. . . We have tried Marrying Four: Beef steak, pork ribs, lamb and shrimp. Sichuan pickle Talapia in soup. Wok fried chicken gristle with chilli. kung Pao Chicken. Dry Fried string beans. Braised pea sprout in soup. Server was attentive and made good recommendation to those who are not familiar to Sichuan cuisine. We have non Chinese in our group and they all like it.

5-stars for the food, price and service. Deducted 1-star for the interior condition. The restaurant is new but the tables, chairs and insulation are showing their age. Back to the food.... We ordered the "Sichuan pickle flavour beef in soup" and "Steamed chicken with chilli sauce". The beef came in a very large bowl enough to be shared by 2-3 people. I find the spicy level just right (spicy enough to hit the spot but not overly done that you can't taste anything). Definitely will come back and try their other pots!

Came here by random n DAMN!!! If you like spicy this place will deliver. Don't get me wrong, it's not overly spicy, it is just right and the aroma of the spicies are amazing. The price is affordable at around $30 to $60 for two people. They have mostly red meats and seafood options and there are different vegs add-ons. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Pretty tasty. Portions are large. We ordered the steamed chicken in chili sauce and seafood hot pot, and is good for 2 not so hungry adults. The chicken has a nice flavour and is a good pair with the nut bits on top. The seafood pot has lots of chilis, but is surprising not too spicy. However, since there are so much chili, I feel like I am digging around to find bits of seafood. Service is friendly, although some servers do not speak much English. I will come back to try the noodle dish with beef

Spicy Meat Lover . Taste : 8/10 Price : $28 + tax Service ‍: 6/10 Worth it: 8.5/10 . As a Chongqing-er, I had to check out @hotopia_canada to see what the craze is about. Hotopia was an interesting experience to say the very least, with HUGE portions of food and an insane amount of spicy pepper in each dish. To be quite honest, I wish the dishes were even spicier as I found the food to be unexpectedly tolerable. Service was also a little meh because the lobster and cold noodles were sold out by the time I got here. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed the flavours of the food and think it's quite a bang for the buck.

The decoration in the resto was cute. Very Sichuan style in terms of food - tons of member. Mild wasn't spicy even though it looks super spicy. The veggie and chicken was good. The fried rice was flavourless - I would try the soy sauce fried rice next time

Was craving for some spicy fish, so decided to come and try this restaurant as it's close to home. We ordered the Si chuan pickle flavour basa, kung pao chicken and wok fried cabbage. The fish soup was not bad - I like that there was vermicelli and enoki mushroom inside the soup and it goes well with the fish. Flavour was okay, not much different from other spicy fish soup restaurants. Kung pao chicken wasn't that great - a little too sweet for my liking. The cabbage was fried well with nice flavour, but just a little bit too oily. I would come back next time, but to try another fish soup flavour!

Been here so many times. As always enjoyed my stay and dinner. Thanks to the employee working for the best service. Thank you for making my favorite dish always taste good. Spicy meat love. Classic fried rice. Clams. Numb basa

We ended up getting the ham macaroni soup with a cheese ham sandwich combo, along with the O Street signature beef sandwich and fries from their new menu. Despite how busy it was on a Saturday, the food came out at a pretty reasonable speed, which I appreciated. The macaroni soup was just okay, very much the kind of simple comfort food that fills you up, but nothing especially memorable. I was most excited for the signature beef sandwich, but it didn't fully meet my expectations. The burger/sandwich itself was smaller than I imagined, and it only had about 2-3 pieces of beef brisket inside with marinated bell peppers and their homemade sauce. The sauce leaned sweeter than expected, which might work for some people, but personally I was hoping for something more savoury and more generous with the beef. However, the brisket was tender, which was a win... ish. Overall, still a decent spot if you're craving classic HK cafe vibes and variety, especially for a casual meal with family.

Our food took a while (for a cha chaan teng), but it was understandable since the larger tables had just ordered before us. I do like that there isn't an additional charge for included cold drinks. However, there is a $0.50 fee if you would like a takeout cup for your dine-in drink. The HK milk tea was decent. However, the cook must've be distracted or trying to make too many dishes at once. When we arrived, he insisted that we did not have a reservation even after we showed our confirmation, and, instead of apologizing for what appeared to be the restaurant's booking system error, he tried to lecture us about how certain reservation websites do not allow large-group bookings. Rather than taking responsibility or working professionally toward a solution, his attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely inappropriate. Fortunately, the lady working with him was kind, professional, and genuinely tried to explain the situation and find a way to accommodate us. She deserves recognition for her efforts. Our group was in town for an eight-day conference with more than 3,000 attendees. Because of this experience, this restaurant has unfortunately been added to the "not recommended" list for this annual event. When restaurants host business travelers, the way guests are treated matters just as much as the quality of the food. Unprofessional treatment of customers and business partners can damage relationships and cost businesses significant opportunities. To anyone considering this restaurant: the food is excellent, but if you're planning an important business dinner or any special occasion, be aware that the wrong interaction at the front desk could ruin your evening. Great food alone cannot make up for poor management and unprofessional customer service.
