We were hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately, it wasn't very good. When we entered the restaurant, the host avoided eye contact and quickly seated us at a small bistro table right by the door for no clear reason. It was cold, and most of the restaurant was empty. When my boyfriend asked if we could sit near the bar, where there were plenty of available tables, the host didn't even look at us and simply said, "Help yourself." I'm not sure why we were treated that way. When the food arrived, my boyfriend's burger was completely different from what he ordered. He ordered a BBQ burger with extra crispy bacon, but it came with no sauce and no bacon at all. My burger was very dry, and the fries were overcooked. I do like crispy fries, but these were far beyond that. I assume the food issues were a kitchen mistake. On a positive note, the ambiance was nice, and our server was kind and attentive. She checked on us more than three times. My boyfriend is so kind and he didn't want to send the burger back. read more

We stopped by Konrad's in Lee's Summit for the first time and had such a great experience! I ordered the sangria and the grilled chicken bacon and Swiss sandwich -- both were amazing. The sandwich was juicy, flavorful, and came out hot and fresh. My boyfriend got a beer flight and let me pick one to add to his flight -- I went with the strawberry rosé cider, and it was so delicious! Light, crisp, and perfectly sweet. The service was great, no complaints. They have tons of seating options both inside and out. We decided to sit outside and it was such a nice atmosphere -- laid-back but still lively. It has been a minute since I've been to this place. But I was walking around downtown LS and figured why not. One of things I remember about this place was the braided crust on their pizza. Of course for this visit I had to get a veggie pizza with the braided crust. When I got my pizza, it was a thin crust but definitely not the braided crust I remember. The young lady, Maria, provided us with a menu and did not try to pressure us for a table. She allowed us to make the decision. We reviewed the menu and with my date requiring gluten free, we noticed there were plenty of options. We decided to try and asked Maria to show us to a table. Nice spacious dining area, and again we noticed everything was very clean. We both ordered the bison burger and my date asked for no bun. Our meal came in a timely manner and a good flavor to the burger. My date had the roasted red potatoes instead of fries and they were wonderful. Finally went to Konrads for happy hour and trivia and so glad we finally did! Service: Zoey was our server and she was fantastic!! I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about her. Tuesday Trivia and bar food for the win! We had a great time at trivia. The service was decent, the food came out timely, and the drink selection was good. It is definitely loud, so if you don't want to trivia you might want to sit outside or come on another night. Must try the bones! They are super tasty and great for a group. For me, Konrad's was just ok. The service was decent and friendly, but I would have expected it to be since the place was empty. I went for lunch and found the menu had more than enough options to choose from, enough to make it tough to decide. I like that! I eventually decided on the Downtown Dip, Konrad's version of a French Dip, with onion rings. The hoagie bun it was served on was soft and fresh. The shaved prime rib was a little dried out, but was accompanied by plenty of provolone cheese, au jus and a tasty horseradish sauce that packed some heat, I almost didn't notice. The sandwich could have used a little more meat. It seemed a bit thin. The onion rings were well sized and crispy to the crunch with good flavor, easily my favorite part of the meal. I plan to give Konrad's another try, but will probably skip the shaved prime rib sandwich. It should be the star of the dish and it just wasn't. Next time, I hope to have a better experience and do like the menu says... "Eat, DRINK and Be Merry." read more
