Even though I don't drive often and my car is kept in a garage, the replacement tires (new, not used) they sold me started cracking on the sides way too soon. The tread wasn't run down at all yet. Come to find out, the "new" tires they put on were actually manufactured in 2011 -- meaning they were already older than my car when they installed them! This also means they sold me very old tires, because I didn't buy new tires in 2014 (since my car was brand new). I likely purchased new tires around 2019, though I wish I remembered the exact year. No wonder the tires didn't last as long as they should have. I'm glad I learned how to read the date codes on tires after this experience, so this won't happen to me again. However, I'll just continue going to Costco. Their warranty is excellent -- if I get a flat, they'll cover it -- and tire rotations are included in the price. Plus, this shop wasn't even much cheaper than Costco to begin with. Do not go here unless you want old, outdated tires.

I feel compelled to write another great review for Ron and his team at Unique Auto. I have an old…read morecar (2012 Kia Optima hybrid), and yet again, Ron came through for me in ways that other car shops just didn't. My car started having very dramatic issues around acceleration, that included a couple of terrifying drives. Thinking it was most likely the transmission, I took it to a transmission shop. Basically, after driving it for like a minute or two, they just handed my keys and told me there was nothing wrong and basically that there was nothing they could do to help me. I was stunned to hear this, as I had barely gotten home in the car the day before. I came to learn that the car has to replicate the problem in order for them to capture the codes, and they basically didn't want to put in more than a minute or two trying to help me. So, I went back to Unique Auto. Ron and his team were patient enough to drive the car around until it replicated the issue and they were able to formally capture that the problem was the transmission. Then, they turned the car quickly for me, replacing the transmission for a full $2K less than my dealership had quoted me. On top of that, they had the car cleaned and beautiful when I went to pick it up (I can't imagine they do this for every car that comes in, but mine had been there a few days :) ). Car is working just great, which is amazing to me, because the problem had been so dramatic that I really thought it would never drive again. As someone who doesn't know much about cars, it has been such a help to me to have a trustworthy and skilled place like Unique Auto. It seems to me their first priority is to be helpful, not to just jack up the price so they can make as much money as they can off of you. I've had this experience with them now, multiple times. After the repairs, the splash shield was missing. When I brought this up to the shop, I was told they had nothing to do with it and that it may have already been missing when the vehicle arrived. The problem is, I personally saw the part on the vehicle when it was dropped off. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures beforehand, which I regret. The shop also told me they don't replace missing parts. That leaves the customer in a difficult position when a part is missing after the vehicle has been in their possession, especially when the customer has no way to prove exactly what happened. What makes this even more frustrating is that my insurance company won't discuss the part directly with the shop, leaving me stuck in the middle trying to resolve something that should have been handled professionally. I'm not accusing anyone of intentionally taking the part because I cannot prove that. However, the way this situation was handled has completely damaged my trust in this shop. Customers should be able to leave their vehicles with a repair facility knowing that all parts will be accounted for and returned with the vehicle. I strongly recommend taking detailed pictures and documenting every part of your vehicle before leaving it at this shop. I wish I had done that myself.
