We've used Coolfog since we moved to Palm Springs a few years ago. Our house already had a misting system installed. Coolfog come out twice a year: in the late Spring to make sure the system works properly and in the late fall to winterize the system and turn it off, drain the water lines, etc. They are always on time and their service personnel are honest and friendly. Sometimes they come to service the system without use being home. We highly recommend them for misting system services. read more

LOTS of poor service stuff to write about. They sent a technician for a maintenance service on my unit. The fellow looked like he had a tough night of drinking the night before. He was disheveled. The service took 16 minutes and they charged for 1 hour. He did not clean my unit on the inside of the leaves and debris. He did not wipe of the sludge in the filter canister. He said his eyesight was poor and could not see which misters were not working. He missed a few. After my service he pulled down the street and parked there for about a half hour? I complained of course and they sent out a new guy who did an average job but he did at least go through the motions correctly. He said that there were a few misters NOT working and I told him that I would take care of that as he wanted to replace them. Turns out a few was 9 misters PAY ATTENTION HERE. The way they "clean" the misters is to use a drill with a wire brush on the end in "hopes" that it will knock off the calcium buildup. That is NOT effective because of the design of the tip has a circular edge that sticks out and does not allow the hole area to be cleaned. All they have to do is take a diabetic syringe and poke the center hole and it instantly opens up the mister. I cleaned all 9 this way in 10 minutes and they all worked see video. As far as I am concerned I paid for ONE HOUR of their time and they should use it to properly clean the heads. They are all about how quick they can do the service and NOT about quality of service which means they will gladly change out the heads for new ones at a cost to you the consumer. This is unethical behavior in my opinion. So make sure to get your needle to clean out your heads. Just need a pliers to remove the mister and a few seconds to put the needle in the hole. I hope the owner reads this and does something about this, it is NOT about how much money he can stuff into his pants. Customer service counts they need help here. read more

We had an appointment with Sean Gannon of KoolFog for an estimate on a misting system on July 9, 2020. He came to our home, took measurements, made a sketch, and said he would work on the estimate "tonight." After having heard nothing for two weeks, I attempted to call Sean at his office on July 24. The receptionist said he was unavailable and put me through to his voicemail, which was full and not accepting messages. So I sent an email asking when we could expect an estimate, and have gotten no reply to date. Also, while Sean wore a mask during the appointment, that didn't stop him from bad-mouthing his competitors and sharing his fact-free opinions about the Coronavirus. Very unprofessional. Luckily we had also made an appointment with another vendor (one that Sean had bad-mouthed) for an estimate, so I hope that one goes better. I guess KoolFog just doesn't want our business! read more

KoolFog offers a "winterize" service which they remind you of if you are on an annual service plan. I was able to schedule easily and request Scott to service our unit. He is familiar with our system having serviced it in the past and knows our community and our property well. He is very accommodating and efficient as was his assistant. Our system has been GREAT and has allowed us to use our beautiful back yard all summer long lowering the temperature on the patios across the whole yard by as much as 10-15 degrees. I called Koolfog because my Koolfog mist system started to drip slightly after shutdown. The pressure gages on the system had also deteriorated and failed. For some time, I have had to tap on the drain solenoid valve when starting the system, or the water would just pour out the back of the unit. I requested service to replace the drain solenoid valve, and to replace the pressure gages. When the tech arrived, I told him about the dripping, tapping the drain solenoid, and requested new gages. He decided to disassemble and clean the drain solenoid valve and the inlet solenoid valve. He stated that he could save me money by just cleaning the valves. The gages were also replaced. After the tech left, and assured me the system was fixed, I decided to start it to check it out. The post shutdown dripping was way worse, and constant. I called Koolfog, and they sent the tech back. He decided that the emitters were probably bad. When he removed one to try a replacement, water poured out at city pressure. He decided that I needed a new inlet solenoid valve. It appears to me that there was nothing wrong with that valve, until the tech dismantled it. But the new valve stopped the city pressure bypass. I still have to tap on the outlet solenoid valve intermittently. The new gages look nice, but are just as cheesy plastic as the original ones. I received a second invoice with the new (likely unnecessary) valve and a boatload more labor. No way I'm having Koolfog back here to address the outlet solenoid valve problem. I feel that I shouldn't have to pay for labor to clean a valve that should have been replaced in half the time. read more

I used Koolfog for the first time in our newly purchased home and after installing a whole house water system. I have been looking into misting systems for over a year. Went to the big hardware stores, tried to make sense out of what I'd need, became confused and decided to ask around! I have used Koolfog for 10yrs for winter close down and spring start up. I have been pleased with their service. This spring they have stopped cleaning nozzles, only replacing them now. This is a backward step especially as they still charge a 1hr minimum for what is now a 15-30 min start-up work. read more

I have used Koolfog for some time for routine maintenance of our misting system twice a year. A couple months after our most recent service, it stopped working. Turning on the system tripped the GFI on the circuit. The Koolfog service person, Roberto H, showed me that the pressure had been left too high at the previous service, at 1500 psi, and said it should not be set above 1000, which is why my rating is 3 rather than 5 stars. He reduced it to 900, but the GFI still tripped when the motor was turned on, so I will replace the GFI and see if it works. read more
