I called Paul Mitchell's Air Care (at 9pm by the way), and I was told they could have a tech there within 20 minutes! And, the after hours additional charge was reasonable as well. Paul Mitchell installed the original system. I had problems with the system failing from the start. This most recent problem was a control board that failed. This is a Lennox product and Lennox provided a new board. However, I had to use Paul Mitchell for the replacement. They charged me $495 for the tech to replace and configure the board, about two hours his time for the install. I found another company that has helped with HVAC work, including fixing the problems from the original Paul Mitchell installation. Unfortunately, they could not replace the board as it was a RMA from Lennox.. If you are looking for HVAC work, keep looking you can find better. read more

Every time they come out for my service, they prescribe an expensive fix. The most recent was a quote for $318. I purchased the part from Ferguson for $14.91. A bracket for $15. With a pair of pliers, a screw driver and nut driver for tools, it took me (a very unskilled home owner), 20 minutes to open up the panel, photograph the part. Another 30 minutes to turn off the electric, remove three wires. Screw in a few screws. Assuming a technician could do it faster $288 for 30 minutes of labor. Look at You Tube, it's listed as a top AC scam. read more

We paid Paul Mitchell's Air Care $14,000 last December for a brand-new system, and it has broken down almost every month since. By July, they admitted the unit was faulty unit and gave us a replacement, but the problems have continued nonstop. Less than a week after the install, we noticed a wet patch on our ceiling caused by faulty plumbing from the heat pump. Today, the blower motor began running continuously. They gave us a 10 AM to 12 PM window to fix it but didn't arrive until 2 PM--where one technician admitted they made a wiring and a second tech denied any errors on their part. They sent out 7 technicians and not one stayed to properly check and test the system before leaving. Nearly a year of continuous breakdowns and endless excuses. Look elsewhere if you value your time and money. read more

My husband and I are forever grateful to Paul Mitchell's Air Care!! We have a rental property in La Quinta Ca. It is in the desert and summer temperatures are horrible!! Our tenants called around 9:pm that the temperature inside the house was 98 degrees. We found PM on line and immediately felt at ease when we talked to the owner. He sent out a tech who worked on the very old unit for over three hours. He kept us updated throughout the process. A previous company we had contacted two days prior came out and supposedly did maintenance. Well that didn't last long. Michael from PM was honest and told us the unit was in its last legs. We stressed the importance of restoring air for the tenants. He promised us he wouldn't leave until they had air conditioning. Sure enough he worked until 1:am and was able to fix it. My husband and I thought it was time we replaced the unit. We've asked what the cost would be and although we don't have that kind of cash laying around, he explained the options available and needless to say, by the next day we had a new unit. Our a/c system stopped cooling late afternoon. I called Paul Mitchell's Air Care as they had provided excellent service for us 2 years ago. I was able to get an appointment the following morning with Eddie and a trainee. Eddie diagnosed the issue and presented me with several repair options. We decided on full system replacement as unit was 15 years old. Since we had to wait a day for system replacement, Eddie installed a portable unit in our bedroom. Eddie, Santiago, and helper then installed our new system. Very happy with the new unit as it seems much quieter. Really have no idea how this bussiness is able to have such a high review rate. I waited some time before I could truly place a legit review. When making a decision to go with this bussiness, they hype things up and make you feel like you are making a correct decision to go with them. They also offer an incredible loan at 0% for Bryant systems for 4 years. No one else can beat that. The system was installed. They do not work on the ducts, so currently I have 2, five tons that make my living room and kitchen cold but the master bedroom feels like a sauna. They do not offer help or remediation to fix that. The HVAC connected to the house also is done poorly, like with a 2nd grader compared to the other companies, photo posted below, you be the judge. Last year I had a new hvac system installed by this company. Overall I was happy with them however once I went to use my new heater it made a horrible sound upon startup. We waited months for a new part and it's still making the same horrible sound. I called to find out about my seasonal service and was abruptly informed that I rejected an offer to renew my service. I was never offered a renewal and had only had the system a few months at that point. I'm not impressed with their customer service and sadly will look for another company to handle my seasonal servicing. read more

If I could leave a zero star instead of one I would. This company is quick to send technicians when you need them, but beware of their crook technicians the last one that came to my house ( and was in my house couple years ago) back then as well, there was something I couldn't trust. This time he turned off a switch and made up a major repair that did not exist. I seeked a second and a third opinions thankfully I followed my instincts. All it needed was a small part which was replaced by another company and they also made me aware that my AC was still under warranty. This technician never bothered to check or didn't want to instead was fast to send me a bill for $1600 including a monthly membership that I did not ask for "but you could cancel it later on" as he said, and apparently was also "including $600 additional saving". The third company sent me an honest technician who checked the system and did not even charge me for the service call instead gave me $0 bill showed us the switch was off and changed the thermostat from " fan" to " cool" the a/c was back working for five days no problem a week later a small part was wearing off they replaced it ( no charge) all I had to pay was for the labor and the visit $512 and my air conditioner has been working ever since. I've been calling the company asking for my $85 service charge reimbursement, sent them several emails, no response. I will obviously never use them again go with Esser, that's an honest company. read more

We had a "no airflow" condition on our roof mounted home HVAC, regardless of selecting heating or cooling operation. I called Paul Mitchell's Air Care at 8am to get an appointment, and the tech, Michael Dominguez, showed up at 10:30 to inspect. Within minutes, he found a loose bolt on the fan mount and was able to immediately correct the problem. Total cost for service call...$75. It was a good discussion and we agreed on the service I needed for now since I am trying to locate a pest in my attic and I only needed the ducts inspected and repaired for now which they did for me.
