My husband and I had not had our vents cleaned since we moved in 2 years ago and underwent construction. We called Air Ducts Pro after seeing a coupon in the mail for an advertised vent cleaning for $169 which seemed fair.... Upon arrival, the rep inspected our "main" and advised we clean that as well...which would be over $700 more than what we were expecting to pay. We felt blindsided, and experienced the classic "bait and switch". The rep who came to clean the vents was OVERLY persistent in us cleaning the main as it was in fact dirty and kept repeating that the "coupon" was for "maintenance"...in which when I showed him the "coupon" there was no verbiage of it being for "maintenance". In the end, after trying to negotiate a game plan to make the deep clean in our budget- we settled on a price after it appeared them fearing us taking the business to another company to just clean the main. (But man...was it hard work....) MAJOR NOTE: There must have been a MAJOR error on his part while cleaning the main as dust exploded EVERYWHERE. Our entire downstairs living area was COVERED in dust in which my husband and I were left cleaning and sneezing. We are still, after one week, finding spots we missed covered in dust. Air Ducts Pro, "what a joke". The service rep who came to our house did not do a complete job as explained on the phone. First, when checking out the various rooms with air vents the professional claimed all would be cleaned. This did not happen, in fact I had to insist that he clean both the den, where we spent most of our time, and the largest vent in the kitchen. He insisted that the two are connected and they would not need cleaning. After my insistence he opened the vents and superficially cleaned the vent covering but not the air duct. Twice he mentioned he was tired. Wow, why come to a house and do an incomplete job? He then said we had mold but could not show us the actual mold. He said it could be fixed for $400+, we did not agree to the mold removal service. We are not happy with its performance and our recommendation is do not hire Air Ducts Pro, Coachella Valley. I saw a coupon for this business. Dryer vent cleaning was $29, whole house duct cleaning was $55. A combo of the two was $59. (There was a gold pkg also for $139.) I wanted my dryer vent cleaned but decided to do that plus the air ducts cleaned since there was little price difference.. The very nice technician, David, arrived. There was good communication via text and email. He cleaned the air vents. He removed vents in every room and vacuumed them. He then cleaned the lint filter in the front my dryer...the one I clean EVERY TIME I do a load of laundry. The dryer vent itself was not cleaned. The dryer vent to me is the tubing and vent that leaves my dryer and vents on my roof - which prevents fires. Since this was what I actually wanted done as a priority I felt like it was a bit of a rip off. I did have the vents/ducts in my condo cleaned so for that part I would recommend them? I felt like this was a bit of bait and switch both on the lint filter cleaning (called dryer vent cleaning) but also for the up sell after getting into my condo. He offered to clean the cold air return for an additional $275. When we hesitated the price dropped to $175. There was no pressure and we did not have that done. read more

The guy came and was friendly enough but the cleaning job was something that we could have done ourselves. He basically took off the covers for the supply vent and register and vacuumed them out. At first he said we had a mold problem, but then checked and said it wasn't mold after all. The service that was done was very minimal and the cost was $1228 which seems crazy to me. read more

Ben was very professional and did an excellent job cleaning our ducts. As he was cleaning, he would call us over to show us what he was doing and how much dust he was able to remove. We had not had our ducts clean since we bought the house and didn't realize how much of a fire hazard it was, especially our dryer vent. This is a sham of a business. They quoted me $300 for the whole house duct cleaning plus the dryer vent. That should have been my first red flag. When the technician arrived to do the work, he explained that price only included the ceiling vents and the dryer vent ON THE DRYER (the one I clean with every load) but did not include the large air return registers or the dryer vent into the house, which is what really needed to be cleaned. Never had my ducts cleaned before, saw the coupon and thought "why not"? Horrible experience with a Technician named Ben (funny but his picture said David). He was inexperienced at duct cleaning, but VERY experienced at upselling. He must have worked for timeshares in the past. He was rude to his helper and lazy. He had no business doing duct work. I called the owner of the company. The owner is the real David. He said he was sorry and he would not have Ben work for him again. Got a Flyer in the mail, made an appointment. Ben showed up early due to a cancellation in his schedule, He did call first. From the moment he arrived he seemed to be upselling his services at every turn. I had agreed to the $99 special for the whole house air duct cleaning package and basic dryer vent cleaning. Everything seemed to be an add on but the final straw for me was when he told me that he would need to charge me for the return duct work for a special price of $460 on top of the $99. At that point I told him to pack up his things and leave. Just as he got to the door, he told me there is a $45 service call fee. That was never disclosed ahead of time and I told him to get out of my house. This company or at least this representative BEN is not trustworthy and these coupons are a scam. I called AirDucts Pro because of their ValPak coupon for a GOLD PACKAGE special for $139, regularly $250. David came and took a photo of the main air return, went to his tablet to enter some info and told me it would be $714! If I didn't buy the additional $575 service then he would NOT do the $139 advertised service either. I declined the $714 quote. He closed up his ladder and left! Be very careful of this vendor. Make sure you get a firm quote from him for ALL the services he intends to deliver. And then get a quote from another vendor for a proper comparison. I did not do enough research on this service and the various professional providers in the area and I was up-charged a ridiculous amount by David of Air Ducts Pro. He claims his prices are normal in this industry and my research says he is totally wrong. I am embarrassed that I accepted his prices and later learned how out of line they are.
