We're baaaaccckkk ... our annual reunion (8/13/25). If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The drive for me is still HORRENDOUS but I cherish the time spent with my old friends/colleagues. Nothing different about the restaurant ... same decor, same outdoor seating option, same quick and friendly service (shoutout to JC & Meaghan), and decent food. I'm thinking the menus may have been updated but don't quote me on that. My Salmon BLT (with old bay chips) was nicely seasoned and plentiful! I was able to pack half up to finish/enjoy later. The other 2 ladies kept it safe with their salads but both were able to leave with leftovers, as well. IF I don't make it back out here before next summer, I'm promising myself ... next year, I'm definitely getting a beer and the old bay wings. I ordered a chesapeake salad that comes with shrimp and "jumbo lump crab". The salad arrived with neither. Forgetting shrimp I can understand. The crab in the salad was shredded back-fin. If that's what you have and serve, say it. Say "back-fin crab" not "jumbo lump crab". The kitchen then said "we don't have lump crab, we have back-fin." Again, just be up front with your customers. Do not come here expecting lump crab. She said "we're removing that description from the menu." I feel bad for non-Marylanders who don't know the difference because I suspect it will still say that on the menu. read more

Pretty good place to eat. Nice ambiance there was live music. And the wait staff was very much attentive. We got visited by more than 4 people. The food was very good. The smell of fresh burgers on the grill was very appetizing. It may turn off vegans, but meat lovers will love it. The calamari we fried well they were crunchy but not rubbery. They were served with thick marinara (read pizza sauce)on the side. The salmon was good and serves with white rice and grilled fajita veggies. The veggies were crunchy and tasty. The farmstead lamb is not for everybody. The lamb burger on foccacia was very good. Rhe cheese is one of those funky type cheeses that might not appeal to everybody. The chocolate ice cream was good. I came here last night with my wife and two daughters. The girls' meals from the kids menu were fine, and the fries were good. My wife ordered the seafood gumbo, partly because of the "as seen on Diners Drive-ins and Dives" tag on the menu. When it came out, it was black (not red as we expected), and she couldn't even tell what she was eating. I did some digging today and it turns out the restaurant was not featured on DDD, but rather it was Slainte that was featured, and apparently they were owned by the same person (not sure if that's still the case). Regardless, the gumbo looked nothing like what it looks like on Slainte's website, and the taste was just OK. I got the seafood Cobb salad, and it was bland and difficult to taste the distinct elements when it was all mixed together. On top of that, the service was very poor. We waited at least 10 minutes for water, at least another 10 minutes to have our order taken, and had to flag our waitress down for the check. We also saw another waitress just standing around for our entire meal. The burgers looked pretty good, so we should have gone that route, but as they're all in the $20 range, we'd probably be better off going to Shake Shack or Five Guys. Won't be returning. read more

Just ordered(online carryout) a tuna wrap and a spinach salad. The wrap was good, the salad was disappointing. It was very small, had very little fruit, and no salad dressing was included. I did not return, as I live 15-20 minutes away and did not open the salad before I left the restaurant. Tried to contact the restaurant using their webpage. I remember my husband taking me here approximately 6 years ago when we lived way closer. We happened to be in the area last night and decided to stop for dinner. We knew that Kooper's has one of the best burgers around. Upon arrival we were told to grab any table we'd like, as long as it didn't have a white paper on it. Every other table was closed due to social distancing. We started off with the old bay boneless wings with ranch. They were so good we contemplated getting a second order. My husband and I each built our own beef burgers. There are many options of protein, cheese, toppings and sauces. The possibilities are endless. Both burgers were cooked as requested and we cleared our plates. We both opted to upgrade to truffle fries. They are sooo good here! Some restaurants who offer truffle fries don't have much flavor to them. That is not the case here. My husband last second ordered nachos with chili with his meal. I didn't have any because I was stuffed, but he thoroughly enjoyed them. They do charge 5 dollars to add meat to your nachos and I thought that was alot for the portion given. The server we had was very friendly and attentive. He never let our drinks go empty or dirty plates sit on the table. I highly recommend visiting Kooper's if you are in the mood for a great burger! read more

It was nice to sit outside on this beautiful day. The food was meh. Their special homemade shrimp salad was light on shrimp and high on onion/ celery/mayo mixture, been burping it all day.the fried chicken was not good, it was hard to cut thru and dry inside. If I could rate this "0" I would. I have never actually written a bad review of a restaurant, but this was the worst dining experience I've ever had. Originally, I thought it was my second worst, but oh... wait, at least at that restaurant I received my food. At Kooper's ... nope. We arrived at 6:30 pm, and put our names on a waiting list. The staff at the hostess stand was very sweet, but underestimated the wait time by a lot. We were a party of six. When we were seated, we were seated by the front window, which was very cold. I sat at the end of the table. We were all in our coats for the entirety of the meal. We ordered. I ordered the tuna wrap and fries. I received a soda. We asked for water for the table. Everyone received a glass of water except me. No one returned with one more glass. The food came, and everyone's food came but mine. No one checked on our table. No one offered us more drinks. No one asked if everything was ok. I felt invisible. About 20 minutes after the food was served, another person at our table waived the server over for additional food. I was sitting in front of an empty glass, no water and no food. At that time, I asked about my food, my sandwich. The server looked at me, and never acknowledged my question, took the additional order and left. After a few minutes I got up and tracked her down near the kitchen entrance and asked her again about my food. She asked me what I ordered, and offered to provide it for me TO GO! I assume this is because everyone at my table was almost done?? I told her, "no thank you." and I left my party to pay the bill. I ate at home. To top it off, the purpose of the dinner was my birthday and it was a significant one. Happy Birthday to me. read more

In my entire life, there has never been a hamburger that I couldn't finish until today. Worst hamburger I've ever eaten and the fries are freaking terrible too soggy. Stopped for a late lunch. The Front room/bar staff were apparently run off their feet. We placed our order - drinks came immediately - it took a long time to get out to us and the server left without providing flatware. The flatware arrived as recyclable paper tools which were insufficiently strong enough to cut through my sandwich. But never mind that. My food - all of it - was room temperature. The waitress took it back and I waited and watched my hubby enjoy hi chili until she brought me a freshly prepared plateful with sincere apologies. $18 Waygu 1/2 lb. burger was good but not better than the cheaper ground beef I use at home. I worked for this restaurant group when I was in my twenties (back in 2010), and I'm happy to say that the same high standards held then are still achieved today. The food was excellent (our burgers hit the spot!), and our server was very patient and attentive to us while we wrangled both a two year old at the precipice of bedtime and my in-laws (who had just spent three hours in the car). By the end of our meal, everyone was happy and full, and enjoying the lovely group of Mrs, Clauses singing us holiday standards from the bar area. A friend of mine who I haven't seen in awhile invited me here to get food/drinks and see a band perform, the Grateful Dub. He got the Ahi Tuna, ate it as his main dish and he couldn't stop raving about it. I showed up as he was in the middle of enjoying it, so he convinced me to get the Ahi Tuna wrap. They offered to cook it any way I wanted it, but I went rare and blackened, the way it should be. It was perfect. Carefully wrapped in a spinach tortilla, with avocado, tomato, lettuce and wasabi. I'm not a big avocado guy but in this case it all paired very well. This, along with the cocktails (which included multiple grapefruit crushes, so refreshing) resulted in a great start to the evening after work. We had multiple servers, which kinda got confusing, it was like they chose tables at random but it was kinda crazy there with the band so it was okay. They were badgering us every 10 minutes to offer more drinks (my friend quietly exclaimed "money money money" and he was right) they were a bit money grabey but I didn't give in, nor let that bother me too much but was worth mentioning. They did a great job setting up for the band to do their thing. This is a really popular place as I noticed plenty of people eating outside who weren't there for the band. The burgers were very pricey and didn't seem worth it, which narrowed the menu down a bit. But, all in all, this is a great spot for eating, drinking and enjoying cover bands. Stopped in with my wife for a quick quality meal. Any of the burgers with sweet potato fries are always good. The selection of beers is limited, but the cocktail list is lengthy and rich in quality. The service is hot or miss though. Our waiter was all over the place and only visited the table twice while we were there. Now the food was terrible. We ordered burgers and ordered them medium. They came out both over done and appeared to be boxed burgers that were cooked on a George Forman grill. No seasoning what so ever and were so dry going down we were chocking to swallow. We got boxes to go and paid our bill and left,,, went to another place for lunch . Was a true waste of money. Great ambiance. Walked in and was seated right away. Waitress with a great recommendation to 50/50 the Maryland / cream crab soups...best crab soup I've tasted in a long time! Good chicken sandwich and appropriately sized pizza. Will be back for sure! read more
