My son treated me to lunch here, after I helped him pick up some furniture he purchased in Gettysburg. It's a small pub that offers excellent burgers, sandwiches and wraps. I had the smokehouse burger. I ordered it medium rare and it was served exactly how I ordered it. It was pink, moist, juicy and not over cooked. The burger was not a frozen or preformed patty. I could see the patty was hand formed. We were sat immediately at a table not far from the kitchen. Each of the dozen or so tables comfortably sits four people each. Our server was friendly, cheerful and attentive. There is a bar in the main dining area serving liquor and beer. In the back of the bar is a pool table and an outdoor patio also with a bar and several tables, offering a great way to eat and relax outside. There are two bathrooms, one inside the restaurant and the other is outside by the patio. The one by the patio is a little cleaner and better maintained. Burger prices are a little on the high side, averaging between $17.00. However, you are getting a superior burger. Street parking can be a bit of a challenge due to the restaurant being located in downtown Gettysburg. Parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays until 1 PM. This is a nice local pub to meet up with friends and family for a casual eating experience I recommend giving this joint a try. The qualitu of the burgers alone make it worth while. read more

First I'll say that the service here was top notch. We wanted to dine indoors since the weather has been hot and muggy, but, once we entered the dining room , the dampness and a musty smell made us opt for the albeit uncomfortable but still the better option. I should've left and found another option altogether. We both ordered burgers (of course), his a bacon cheeseburger with fries and coleslaw, mine a patty melt on rye bread with Swiss cheese, fries and coleslaw. Both medium rare. Both came out medium well, no coleslaw, one invisible slice of cheese on each burger and white bread instead of rye on my patty melt. The grilled onions actually looked more like onion jam and the trays with black/white checkered paper this is served on looks like it's never seen a sponge or water. This is the spot to get hamburgers in Gettysburg. Theirs are huge, made of prime meat, and presented hot & juicy. I always order my burger medium-rare, and that's what I get here. I can't tell you how many times that medium is what I usually get when requesting medium-rare at restaurants. There's a big difference between the two in terms of internal temperature, center color, and texture. This place knows how to properly cook a medium-rare burger, and for me, that's a sign of quality and sets it apart. The sidewinder fries are fab as are the homemade potato chips and either comes with burgers. The dressing on the coleslaw needs some seasoning, but the slaw itself is fresh and crunchy. The Maryland crab soup is pretty slammin', too. I favor the back dining room, not the bar (in front). These 2 areas have different vibes. The back room feels like the way a burger joint should be. The bar is, well, more bar-ish. One of the servers, Brody, provides exceptional service--a shout out to him. This establishment's name is playful and clearly informs the customer as to what their specialty is: hamburgers. I bought one of their T-shirts, perhaps that says it all. read more

We love the Gettysburger! We stopped in on a busy Saturday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes. I feel like we waited longer for our food than we ever have before, but they had a few large parities, so I get that. I ordered the Muenster burger which was excellent! I've never had a bad burger here and always order the smash patties - I just enjoy them more. Two burgers and two beers were less than $50 with a tip - can't beat that in a tourist town. Gettysburger is a place that does burgers right !!! We are on our way back home from Chambersburg and decided to stop in here and grab a burger and some of the sidewinder fries. We always are cheerfully greeted, and we are seated immediately because it was right after lunch and right before the dinner rush and we sat in the bar area on a high top and it worked out perfectly. Our server was outstanding. She came over got our drink order and if we wanted any appetizers which we did not get this time, but let me just say their appetizers are to kill for they are outstanding. As you can see in the photos, the burgers are done right they are nice and juicy and the toppings are just right in the buns are so fresh. It's crazy. So if you're in the Gettysburg Square area, we highly and I mean highly recommend stopping in here for either a burger or one of their other options which are all really good food well prepare prepared. read more

I was recommended this spot by a local ski instructor who I ran into later at the restaurant. The menu options are not huge yet seem so diverse. I asked for my burger medium well and it came out rare but honestly it tasted amazing! The chili was warm and perfect for a chilly day. Our server seemed super busy but did his best to check in on my party and even tried to have a conversation with us when time allowed. My husband and I stopped by The Gettysburg Company for lunch and had a pretty good experience overall. We shared the mac and cheese bites to start which were definitely the highlight. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and super cheesy on the inside. So good. I had the shrimp Caesar wrap, which was just okay. The shrimp didn't taste as fresh as I'd hoped, but it was still decent. The house-made chips on the side were a nice touch. They were crispy and not oily. Service was good. We sat outside in the alley which was nice and breezy. Food was very good. Everyone was very nice and friendly.

We went here twice during our visit to Gettysburg! Not only because the food is delicious, but they also have a pet friendly patio (with a doggy menu!) and they were able to accommodate our large party inside a few days later. We had the same waitress both times, Jen, and she was fabulous! Very helpful, efficient, and willing to answer questions, make modifications, etc. The rest of the staff (including the host) were also welcoming and friendly. The burgers were great, both the regular 8oz and the double 4oz smashed burgers! We ordered the Munster and the Bacon Cheeseburger. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful, especially the bacon and bacon jam. However, the showstopper was the pretzel bun! I highly recommend (and you can ask for this with any of their burger). We also tried the French onion soup, which was very nice. Their sweet potato waffle fries were fun to try; they usually come with powdered sugar but we opted to get them without that. We also enjoyed the coleslaw! It was a mayo-based dressing with green cabbage as well as purple cabbage and carrots. Overall, Gettysburger was our favorite restaurant we visited in the area! What an experience! Everything was absolutely delicious and we cant wait to come back to Gettysburg just so we can try another burger. We came for Labor Day weekend, took a glance at the reviews and saw this place might have a good bite to eat. After four days and a multitude of food experiences, this place was my favorite. My husband and I tried this restaurant while visiting Gettysburg. I do love the hokey name lol. We got there around 5:30 on a Saturday, and were told there would be a 45 min wait. We were ok with this so we strolled around shopping while we waited for a text. We were texted in about 30 minutes. We got seated and ordered drinks and entrees right away. The drinks, two blackberry mules, came out fairly quickly. We both agreed they were delicious and refreshing, although we didn't taste much blackberry. We next received French onion soup and the seasoned shrimp cocktail appetizer. The soup was just ok. It was lukewarm and not a lot of flavor. My husband had the shrimp and he said they were prepared well and tasty. It took about 30 more minutes for the entrees to come out. We had both ordered the boss burger, with chips and Cole slaw, we both agreed the Cole slaw was excellent. The burgers just weren't great. The Kaiser rolls were stale. The burgers tasted like frozen patties even if they weren't. We only saw our waiter to take our order. After that, we had to flag someone down to get napkins and silverware. Stopped by for the first time today for lunch. The place is a lot bigger than I thought. They have a huge front "bar area" then dining in the back. They also have seating outside on the side called "The Hideout". Very casual. The menu had a variety to choose from and the staff was very friendly. We ordered cheese curds and a basket of sidewinder fries, also a basket of chicken and fries. The food came out steaming hot! My chicken was so hot I had to wait for it to cool off to pick it up. Everything was very good! It started getting packed right after noon. Very packed! So it's definitely a popular spot. Nice location right in the center of town [Gettysburg PA] After our self-guided tour around the Gettysburg National Military Park we looked for a place to eat locally and found this place in historic downtown. Entrance is on the side of the building. We were greeted immediately as soon as we entered the building and asked if we wanted to sit in the high top table seating and bar area which faced Chambersburg Street or the dining room. We opted for the dining room. The employees and our server were nice and friendly and service was quick. We placed our order for the Mushroom & Swiss Burger which I split with the hubby and he also had a cup of clam chowder. The burger was a huge 8-oz patty served with house chips. Burgers are hand patted and made fresh daily. With the sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato it was humongous. The Kaiser roll held good even with the mayo. This has turned into our go to pit stop driving through Gettysburg. Easy in and out. They mention a 30 min wait since they make everything fresh as a warning. Semi wonder if that's so you buy more starters. Great beer list with local breweries included. Zucchini fries with ranch were good. Loved the breading. Insides a bit mushy. This was such a great spot my boyfriend and I happened upon. Pretty casual spot with a decent amount of tables and a bar area. The entrance is in the side alley. Staff was great - owner and/or manager was a really nice guy. They had plenty of options but not too many. I was mostly impressed with the fact they actually cooked my burger medium - everyone always overcooks it. It was juicy and very fresh tasting! We went back today and Conrad waited on us again! This place doesn't miss, always with new burger features and rotating desserts! Conrad suggested the special smash burger with pineapple, wasabi aioli and ham, Bazinga a home run! He ordered us the Gettysburger but with fried chicken, mind blown!
