(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZT-47e8NCBc) He has always been very patient in answering all of my ridiculous questions (and they can get ridiculous, because as moms we tend to panic!) and very comforting. He was all for me attempting a VBAC, but when the time came for a cesarean due to circumstances, he was very reassuring. I have been seeing Dr. Koperek for some time prior to this pregnancy, as he is also my GYN. He is very warm, very knowledgeable, and quite humorous. His office staff is always very gracious and smiling. I have never been left to wait in the waiting room for more than 10 minutes. His phone nurse Dee, is always quick to call me back with any questions or concerns that I have, and always very patient. I would highly recommend him to anyone! read more

just found out this guy is STILL practicing and have to say I am shocked. he was a terrible OBGYN and went as far as to tell me I was pregnant as a "joke" because he was "feeling humorous" after telling another patient she was pregnant with twins. it was traumatizing, humiliating, and a huge violation of my autonomy. It's always weird when men are OBGYN's but this experience was BEYOND. read more

Dr. Koperek is a very highly respected doctor. All other doctors seem to know him and they all speak very highly of him. I've been going to him for about 3 years now, and he's great! I am very surprised at the other good reviews. It makes me question if they are legit. Per a referral from my primary doctor I had visited the women's wellness center to have my Nexplanon implant removed, this appointment was scheduled as a procedure to remove the implant and nothing more. I had zero concerns about anything else except for this. The nurse was really sweet and professional and started the intake and did a fantastic job. But the doctor "Brian" was slightly awkward and insisted a few times that I have a Pap smear done which I had already told the nurse I had one done and I did not need another. I was only there for my implant removal. Before starting anything he asked again for me to prepare for a Pap smear, and that's where I had stopped him and asked what exactly was going on because that's not what I was there for. I respectfully told him I do not feel comfortable having a male doctor do my Pap smear This man's demeanor turned around very quickly, and he became aggressive, condescending and disrespectful, and basically told me to go somewhere else, and that he could not do the removal of the implant and mockingly told me that he could not do it, because he was not a woman. He aggressively took off his gloves and told me to get dressed, and that he would leave the room to get some information for me to go somewhere else. As soon as I was done getting I left crying halfway through the exam. This man is not suitable to be working with young women and should practice better bed side manors and respect a woman's preference. I am shocked at Brian's behavior and professionalism . This was my first time at this practice and I'm extremely disappointed on how this Turned out I truly hope the nurse that was with him can vouch for his bizzar behavioral change and unwillingness to help me. My purpose there was to begin my family planning process which I had discussed with Brian. And the best he could do was tell me to go somewhere else. I've been back and forth so many times and was sent by my primary doctor with the certainty of the facilities capability to remove the implant . I thought this would be my final Solution. I'm very hurt and disappointed that my family planning journey has been delayed. read more

Dr. Koperek is great. His office staff, however, is unprofessional and sometimes rude, with lack of prioritization. In addition, the office now requires the patient to verify their own benefits, which is so unacceptable. An average person, even when directions are given, will have trouble completing their own VOB with accuracy. I would've loved to have been able to recommend Dr. Koperek as a provider, but I can't due to his terrible office staff and request for me to complete my own VOB. read more

I recently visited Dr. Koperek after seeing another OBGYN in the practice. I was impressed by his confidence, relaxed and friendly attitude. He was able to do something for me that my prior doctor failed at - he did it effortlessly and in a very comfortable way with zero pain! I will definitely be making Dr. Koperek my continued Obgyn. I have been going to Dr. Koperek for years (I think about 15 years now) and he is awesome. No complaints about his dry sense of humor, I love it, and his calm demeanor is good for me. My experience with having him deliver my baby was great too. I went through hours of labor before I had to have an emergency C-section, because baby was stressed from contractions. He stayed very calm and kept the nurses calm when they couldn't get my babies heart rate to go down. Dr. K is very patient and knowledgeable, and does answer all my silly questions. I enjoy going to him and he is very honest about the future and what is to come for me with the 'big change'. He does check in and let you know about any test results by phone, which I always appreciate. He's a great doctor, you won't be disappointed. read more

I tried Dr. Koperek for the first time last week for an annual visit, and was slightly preferring a female doctor but decided to go with Dr. Koperek because of his availability. I had read mostly good reviews--especially about his sense of humor and calming presence--and also watched the video he posted online and caught onto the sense of humor before even reading those reviews. I told him about my last visit with another doctor, who for the first time had made the simple annual test painful and uncomfortable for me. Dr. Koperek was sympathetic and I ended up feeling nothing. He was very kind, compassionate, and indeed had a good sense of humor. I'm very glad I kept my appointment with him, and now it's over with for another year. :) read more

I have to leave a review for Dr. Koperek. He was on-call Thursday morning when my daughter was ready to deliver her second baby. Her regular OB was out of town & my daughter was nervous with a new doctor. We were SO happy with Dr. Koperek. He has the calmest presence. He is very knowledgeable during a woman's most vulnerable time & his gentle mannerisms were so appreciated by our family. It was the smoothest delivery you could ever imagine & I give Dr. Koperek the highest star rating you can give. Dr. Koperek is the BEST. I've been going to him for 20+ years. He helped me through two natural childbirths and respected my views/decisions when it came time to my birth plan. I always feel he has my best interest at heart. He will spend the all the time needed to answer any questions I have too. I moved across the state from where his office is at, but I'll be booking flights just to see him for any future doc visits. I trust him, he's respectful, caring and an incredible doctor. Someone in this office can't bill correctly. I had a yearly exam done May 17, 2010. In September or October I received a bill for $45 for labwork?! I called the number on the bill. They referred me back to my doctor's office. The office referred me to my insurance company. They referred me back to the doctor's office. The doctor's office referred me to the lab that did the lab work from my appointment. FINALLY found out the doctor's office sent the specimen to a lab that was OUT OF NETWORK for my insurance. This issue has been escalated both with the doctor's office and the lab... This is RIDICULOUS that people can't get this resolved. I WILL NOT be back to this office unless someone can 110% assure me that this WILL NOT happen again. EDIT Funny how I get a call back after leaving some not so nice messages on voicemails. I've now been working with the clinic director, Nan, directly. It's basically been explained to me that this isn't necessarily a billing issue but something that they had a work around for so they could serve a patient with my insurance (at the time). They basically had a system rigged and I fell through the system. So basically I "fell through" the system through no real fault of anyone (no one's taken responsibility). But the pathology lab and the doctor's office are both working on it. I won't be back though. I've found another doc via Yelp who I've already booked an appointment with. read more

I recently went to Dr Koperek because I could not get into my regular gyn quickly. I am so grateful to him and the time he took to help me get the care I needed. He found a polyp that came back as possible cancer. He connected me with an oncology gyn who did a hysterectomy and it was confirmed that it was in fact cancer. Dr Koperek made sure I had the best care and was always available to answer many questions that I had. read more

Poor Dr Koperek! I guess he`s used to dealing with hormonal women but when I burst through the doors a few weeks ago after running around THREE different car parks with 24 oz of water sloshing around inside me in anticipation of an ultrasound (that never even happened to add insult to injury!) he had to pull all his professional skills together! And then he called me hormonal!!! WAY wrong thing to say to someone who actually IS hormonal!!! I was terrified I was dying based on my symptoms (which is just SO me when it comes to health. Why can I just never Keep Calm and Carry On like the t-shirts say?) so when I found out I would have to schedule the ultrasound I knew I would need for another day I promptly burst into tears. Yeah. Hormonal all right, and not even pregnant! To cut a long story short, they scheduled my ultrasound, all was good, results available on their online patient portal within a few days, and a follow up call from the man himself a little while later. I recommend him as highly as I can. Lovely man. Very patient(!), very reassuring. The nurses, all lovely. The ultrasound lady was great fun too! For future patients: DON`T park in the mall opposite the building - the mother of all security guards will screech at you like a banshee. Don`t park at Citibank either - they don`t like it. If you have GPS search for the post office, and when you find it, the car park is there on the right behind the building. Once parked the building is on the far left as you look at the complex from the car park. 1 star for the signage for the car park and buildings - it`s horrible. 10 stars for Dr Koperek and his office. It all balances out to 5 stars. He is now my go-to guy for all things down under. He probably won`t be thrilled about that given my previous office freak-out, but hopefully the meds I`m now on will make me a little less "hysterical" - did you know that word came from a time when it was believed a woman`s uterus travelled all around her body causing trouble wherever it went? Dr. Koperek has awkward, silent bed side manner, without any interest in critically thinking about an issue. He will run a test, but never brainstorm about differentials or follow up with you. He probably has too many patients on his hands, so he has stopped caring. I would find a different GYN. read more

My one tummy ultrasound procedure their office charged me twice and after deductable I still have to pay close to $500! I called the office and tried to ask for adjusting the bill yet the office stuffs shamed me with attitudes. I had never met Dr. Koperek because I had been going to Norris-Walsh the entire time. My plan was to have Dr. Norris deliver my baby but our son decided to come when she was on vacation! Dr. Koperek ended up starting his on call shift about 2 minutes before I started pushing and he was amazing...I originally didn't like the idea of a man delivering my baby (stupidly) but it ended up an amazing experience and he's a great doctor!
