I had the pleasure of being under the care of Dr Tanamai during my pregnancy. Before establishing…read morecare, I did my homework & searched high & low on doctors in the area. I was very picky & what really made me choose Dr. Tanamai was how she mentioned in her memorialcare video how child birth is a natural process & she doesn't do anything magical on her end, & acts more like a coach on the sidelines. I liked how she humble she comes across on her video. I do not like doctors usually, but during my 9 month span & all the appointments, I can say she really listened to my needs. I can be a bit of a diva but she never made me feel unheard or weird for my preferences. She also never pressured me into anything, because I stood my ground on certain practices & I ended up getting my way which I appreciated - & I didn't have to fight for it either. I was very disappointed in the fact she couldn't deliver my baby - since he came after her working hours Friday (after midnight). My only complaint & maybe if she reads this review, is the next baby I would like to put a special request to deliver baby #2 whenever that may happen. I will never forget one appointment where she was more chatty than usual & I really liked that - it felt like I was talking to an old friend. We were talking non medical & it was very refreshing. I wish every appointment could of been like that but I understand the l&d field is very chaotic. I would recommend Dr. Tanamai to anyone looking to establish care for pregnancy or for an obgyn.

Near the end of my pregnancy, I developed symptoms commonly associated with preeclampsia, including severe swelling, persistent headaches, and blurry vision. I raised these concerns during an office visit and in a message, specifically stating that I was worried about preeclampsia. I was told that I was young and that these were normal pregnancy symptoms. No additional testing was ordered. After two subsequent pregnancies with a different OB, I learned these symptoms should have been taken more seriously. At minimum, I believe my appointment should have been moved up, my urine protein checked, and home blood pressure monitoring recommended. As a first-time mother, I trusted her judgment and was not seen again for about two and a half weeks. At my next appointment, she was out of the country, so another physician saw me. That doctor immediately checked my blood pressure and urine. My blood pressure was dangerously high and my urine showed extremely elevated protein levels. I was sent directly to Labor & Delivery and delivered my baby a month early due to severe preeclampsia. I cannot know whether earlier evaluation would have changed the outcome, but I do know that I felt unheard when I raised legitimate concerns. The experience was traumatic for me and my family. I am sharing this review in the hope that it encourages others to advocate for themselves and seek a second opinion if their concerns are dismissed. Seeing similar experiences in other reviews is one reason I felt compelled to share mine.

We, of course, knew otherwise because of her symptoms. We had to beg to get bloodwork so we could be sure and my wife left the appointment in tears after being dismissed and shot down by the doctor. On our second appointment with a midwife who said she was a doctor of nursing, Dr. Denise Castellanos, we had many questions since it is our first pregnancy. Instead of answering them, approximately 90% of the questions were directed to a QR code. This was especially bizarre given the fact that we paid to see her and not a QR code. The "doctor" spent the entire time trying to convince us that she respected our choices and decisions without actually giving us any information whatsoever or showing us any genuine respect. It was all an act. What is the purpose of making and paying for an appointment with a doctor if they are just directing the majority of questions to a QR code or telling you to wait until we are in the right trimester for the question to get answers? We learned more from Chat GPT in 10 minutes than we did from these people in two appointments, totaling approximately 60-80 minutes. Chat GPT also wasn't dismissive and condescending. Even worse, it took them multiple days to get us test results that are critical in maintaining our pregnancy, putting our baby's life at risk. We only found out about the results because the pharmacy called and said we had a prescription. There was a complete lack of communication from Memorial Care staff prior to the call from the pharmacy. When they did finally call, it wasn't even a doctor. It was just some office person from a call center. We tried to make a complaint and they rejected us saying "take it up with the insurance". Apparently they are more concerned with billing than they are with human life. DO NOT trust this place with your pregnancy. DO NOT GO TO MEMORIAL CARE! Go to anywhere other than Memorial Care!

Was supposed to be seen by a provider today at 3pm but learned at 11am that the specific provider does not see new patients after 2:30pm. This was rather frustrating since I had booked this appointment weeks out, completed the paperwork online, and took off work for the appointment. I also received a handful of texts and emails leading up to the appointment. Wish this was caught sooner. I know there are 20+ providers at OCWG and each one works different schedules so there will be room for error with scheduling but I wish the system was set up differently to avoid this issue. -- Review separate from the scheduling mishap: The person I worked with when I first scheduled the appointment weeks ago and the other person today that helped me reschedule were helpful and had professional phone demeanor. I like how many of the providers have video bios on their website.

Recently I had an appointment scheduled with a provider who was an NP and apparently only a doctor was allowed to review my results with me from some tests I had done a month ago. Because of this they canceled my appointment the day of and rescheduled but did not schedule an appointment long enough to conduct an annual physical exam, which I asked for via messages in my Athena portal and when I scheduled my appointment on the phone. At my appointment I waited 20 minutes to have the medical assistant say "oh I was looking for you!" I was in one spot in the waiting room the whole time. Lastly they billed the wrong insurance policy and I received a bill for $800 for something I know is covered by my insurance. I am still rectifying this issues made by their staff and I'm really upset that I will likely have to find a new doctor because of the medical staff's inability to do their job.

After discovering a large fibroid that had enlarged my uterus to five times its normal size, Dr. Sternfeld and I decided that a robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy was the best course of action. I was reassured to learn that he was actually the first physician to perform robotic surgery at Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills--his expertise really shows. From the very beginning, Dr. Sternfeld took the time to explain everything in detail and made sure all of my questions were answered. Even when I messaged after hours through the patient portal, he and his office responded quickly and kindly. That level of care and attentiveness helped ease any anxiety I had throughout the process. Now, four weeks post-op, I feel fantastic. I'm healing beautifully and already back to enjoying walks and light activity. This surgery has been life-changing--and I have Dr. Sternfeld and his amazing team to thank for that. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate OB/GYN who truly listens and delivers excellent care, I highly recommend Dr. Sternfeld.
