Great place for coffee and working/studying! I stopped by here during a trip we took and spent a few hours working and it turned out to be the perfect spot! great coffee here and the inside is so cute and peaceful- i usually go to two rivers for studying but it's always so packed and i'm not the biggest fan of their coffee, so i was really only going for the environment. but i love the environment in here and their coffee and chai tea are amazing :) i got the butter beer latte and it's one of the best coffees i've ever had, and i'm a die hard on the grind customer usually, but i really like this coffee and atmosphere a lot more than other coffee shops i'll put some pictures of what I ordered as well as some pictures of the atmosphere but i def recommend to any students or any individual looking for a nice environment to study and focus :) read more

This coffee shop is a must when in this cute town. I had the most amazing macchiato two days in a row, and I was only in two for 3 full days. The inside is comfortable, even when it appears crowded. The entry way and entrance gives a speakeasy type of vibe which I love. It's definitely a local spot with a lot time and intent that went into the ambiance. Anyone that complains about this place, was unhappy before they experienced this place. I def recommend. read more

Josh, the owner, took me through his 60 second mission statement which was quite impressive. Their coffees are all bold and tasty, not for ameteurs. I've been to this coffee shop several times now, as it is the halfway point for a popular cycling route named after it, the Kora Kora route, from Schertz to New Braunfels and back. Even before Covid, we usually went through the drive-thru on our bikes to get iced coffee, because we're sweaty and stinky by the time we get there. The staff is always super friendly, even today when there was one girl apparently the entire day by herself. She did a good job and was very welcoming. The drinks we got (cold brew for me and iced coffee for the rest of our group) are always delicious and very cold, very necessary given that we're hot and still have another 20+ miles to ride. I appreciate the quality drinks and their kindness towards us two-wheeled customers. read more

Their coffee tastes how coffee should taste--not too sugary, not too bitter, and made with love! Their location is ballin'. Seldom do I hit up Gruene, but while briskly walking around Gruene Lake Village trying to find this gem of a coffee shop, I made many mental notes to check out all of the restaurants. What a neat, charming area! Anywho, I walk into the quiet, cute little shop and I'm greeted by a super sweet barista. Seriously, she was so friendly and happy! I said I wanted to try their famous mocha, and she named all their special Valentine mocha flavors--which all sounded delish--but I just went with their regular mocha. As I waited, I took a seat on a comfy couch to see that they have a big selection of books. There are so many business cards on display. NB/Gruene folk always seem so supportive of each other and their businesses. The coffee itself hit the spot. It's my 2015 Yelp goal to hit up hella coffee joints and see which places are deliverin'. I've had excellent experiences with Kora Kora Coffee. I don't usually drink iced coffee but I ordered an iced vanilla latte with hemp milk upon the baristas recommendation and it was excellent. We came back the next morning and had a blueberry muffin and a hot vanilla latte. Same great drink even better muffins. I love it here! It is like coming home after a rainy day... snuggle up on the couch with a delicious latte beautifully presented with a design made just for you! Grab a book from their collection or bring your own. Not a reader? Borrow one of the family games, watch TV by the fireplace, or just chill with family and friends. Enjoy nature? Meet the Business Owner: Josh C.

I’ve been working in the specialty coffee industry for well over a decade. I am registered with the Barista Guild of America (BGA) and have completed advanced coursework with the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA). I started my career in coffee right here in New Braunfels in 2003 and stuck with it when I was a student in Miami, Florida. I worked for a well-known international chain and then managed an independent, high volume kiosk in South Miami Baptist Hospital for several years. But it wasn’t until I moved to Kirkland, Washington in 2009 that a true all-star barista finally introduced me to what an espresso was really supposed to taste like. It was at this moment that I knew I wanted to one day own my own shop. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by greats in the coffee industry of the Pacific Northwest and learned a lot from them as they answered my tireless questions. I eventually got a job as a barista and later manager of a shop in downtown Kirkland.

We spoke with the owner(?) who was also from california and had a great conversation. The drinks were amazing and there was a nice area to sit. We were lucky as there was no line, but our uber driver on the way out told us that theres usually a huge line up! The dirty chai was delicious! Definitly check it out :)

Bonus: the bread is savory, not sweet like some other places--and I'm all about that. Pro tip: Get there early and grab a boudin kolache while they're still available. I haven't found another place that makes them! What's boudin? (Pronounced BOO-dan, BOO-din, or the French BOO-dah) It's a Cajun sausage made with pork (sometimes duck), rice, herbs, and spices--often including liver or heart. Don't let that throw you off--it's incredibly flavorful. Think: a soft, fresh roll stuffed with cozy, Thanksgiving-style filling. They also make some great apple fritters and bear claws, but again--early bird gets the good stuff. The owners are kind and hardworking, and I love that it's locally owned and operated. Support your community, y'kno! The front staff is friendly too--they remembered me after three years hiatus! Highly recommend stopping by if you're in town. Even worth making a excuse to go!

The location is perfect, the vibe is cozy, and it's one of those places that just becomes part of your routine. They offer all the standard drinks along with great specialty options -- lattes, teas, smoothies -- and everything is consistently good. The service is friendly, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for such a popular local shop. They also feature some amazing coffee beans, including my absolute favorites: Texas Pecan and Bourbon Streusel Cake. And if you want them ground, they'll do it for you on the spot. Upon tasting them, absolutely no lemon taste, and the pancakes themselves were kind of gummy. Asked the co- owner woman for some syrup also could I use some butter. Her reply was it's not meant to be eaten with syrup that I would ruin the ambiance of the meal... ok... don't appreciate someone telling me how to eat my food when it definitely lacks something. Also felt rushed when asked if I was done, while still eating.
