THE CUTEST COFFEE SHOP AROUND! My friends and I met Consulo, the sweetest lady ever. She gave me a free blueberry muffin because just THAT sweet. My friends all ordered coffee and they loved it! I have only used their drive through, but every experience has been great. Their staff is friendly, their coffee is great, and the best perk (for me) is their iced coffees have frozen coffee rather than ice so when the ice starts to melt my drink isn't watered down. This was the perfect stop for an excellent cup of coffee and some delicious baked goods. I'm always partial to cinnamon rolls, and this spot did not disappoint. And while I like cream cheese, I prefer my cinnamon rolls without cream cheese mixed in my frosting/glaze/icing. Happy to say these were not topped with cream cheese frosting. I LOVE Kafekali! I will always stop here on my way out to Canyon Lake. I discovered this wonderful place when we moved here 3.5 years ago and have been back several times. They are an ADORABLE shop and have an amazing view of the hill country when you sit in their outside patios. Service is always top notch, with the employees showing me patience when I'm indecisive or helping me select what I want. The iced coffee comes with coffee ice cubes, which I LOVE! I've never seen another shop do that. I've tried a lot of coffee drinks here and have enjoyed them all. They also have delicious ice cream and baked goods! Kafekali & Bakery has big town flavor, with that small town charm and hospitality. This place is a must visit if you find yourself in Canyon Lake. We spent the weekend here tubing, and needed that morning pick me up before driving back to Houston. For a tiny cafe, they do a really good job with service. They have a small inside and a drive thru available, with a couple seats on the outside patio. No public restrooms FYI. We tried their bees knees, latte Coronado, and their special malinalli. My favorite was their latte Coronado which had a unique goat milk caramel which wasn't too sweet. The pastries are a must try as well. We loved their jalapeno sausage croissant, strawberry cream cheese danish, spinach Florentine bundle, and croissant sandwich. Kafekali & Bakery really is a small town hidden gem, 10/10 would recommend coming here during your weekend Canyon Lake getaway. Enjoy! read more

The owner was in and so lovely to talk to she bakes everything herself. I really enjoyed that my coffee had coffee ice cubes so I didn't have to drink a watered down coffee. Oh, I got to say is that this little bakery within canyon lake is a hidden treasure! The ambience is a humble home, with a small indoor area. However, I don't before that, because the pastries and drinks are absolutely delicious! Never have I been to a place where the barista has told me, "whatever type of coffee drink you can think of, we can probably make"! I had a delicious vanilla caramel latte with cayenne which was DELICIOUS! We also tried the lemon, blueberry pastry, croissant, croissant, breakfast sandwich, cheese, lol, and beef, fine... All of which were very high-quality pastries! Would 100% purchase from here again, and recommend anyone in the canyon lake area to visit! read more

Total coffee snob here... but they pull a damn good double espresso! Not over or under extracted at all. That's actually pretty hard to find. Those who know what I mean I'm sure can agree. We walked out with 1 chocolate chip cookie, a lemon blueberry strudel, a jalapeño cheddar kolache (I think the sausage was Opas) a ham and Swiss bundle, cinnamon roll, and a Cuban and a spinach cheese pastry. And two iced bees knees coffees. Let me tell you I appreciate this coffee!!! Not only was it not overly sweet but it's made with coffee ice cubes people!!! No watered down coffee here!!! How many places do you know that take the time to make coffee ice cubes!? We have yet to eat the cinnamon roll and cookie so I can review those later. Everything was light crispy, savory, sweet, everything had the perfect balance! Being from San Antonio and coming up to camp for a few days this was the perfect place to stop for breakfast. All of the employees were friendly and kind while making sure to get our orders exactly how we wanted them. I got the "Bees Knees" which was great. I love that they use coffee ice cubes so it doesn't get watered down. The flavor was perfect without being overpowering. The baked goods are incredible. I got a kolache, a croissant, and tried the cheesy bake and couldn't say one negative thing about any of them. They warm up the savory items for you, which makes them taste so much better.
