There are carnival type games and other distractions to pass the time. When seated your table has a large stove surface in the middle where you will either be doing BBQ or hot pot cooking. The menu is straightforward and easy to choose your option. The whole table has to choose the same option (BBQ or hot pot) so discussion might be helpful before the waiter arrives. Then you choose your meat and broth type and head to the never ending salad and veggie area. It has veggies, noodles, sauces, toppings and more! The waiter tells you em several times it is all you can eat, thus the higher price point. Make sure to note too though that if you order a lot more than you eat you will get charged a few for leftovers. They want to curb food waste which is commendable. I suggest starting small and then building as for sure you get full rather quickly! My favorite aspect was the sauce area where they listed sauce combos the recommend. It helped me a lot to have some guidance and I liked the sauce I chose from their list. A fun interactive experience and good for groups. It is loud and smelly as you are basically sitting inside a large kitchen. But a fun experience and yummy food so worth a visit!

Now to the food and service. The food was just ok. We did the bbq grill vs the hot pot. We had garlic chicken (so garlicky that I felt like I ate a pot of garlic), beef Bulgogi, K-Town chicken. The meat took a while to cook and the grill was very dry. It was a little overwhelming being a first timer as I wasn't sure the salad bar area and how to make the sauce. I made one of the recipes garlic sauce and it was really good but I over poured a few of the ingredients . Would have liked the server to be more willing to explain the experience for a first timer. I probably wouldn't go back as I felt for lunch the price was too Much. I went on a weekend so we paid dinner price at 12pm. Overall, food was just ok.

Our waitress made the experience much better. She was wonderful at explaining the menu, patient with all our questions, and helped guide us since we hadn't visited before. Her clear descriptions helped to decide what we would like to eat and try for our first experience. A couple of notes for fellow diners: the "regular" spicy level is very spicy! I love heat and thought it was perfect, but if you're sensitive to spice you may want to ask for mild or none. The kimchi here is excellent (and available to purchase in small or medium containers). Their radish kimchi in particular is amazing--it's a must-try. Best of all, Sisters Korean is locally owned and operated. Highly recommend supporting them and enjoying a flavorful, authentic meal!

One of the reasons I loved it was the traditional charcoal grill, which is becoming harder and harder to find these days. Most places use gas grills, but charcoal really gives the meat that authentic Korean BBQ flavor. Because of my past visits, I came in expecting the same level of food quality and service. However, it seems the restaurant may now be under new ownership because the experience felt very different from what I remembered. Service was noticeably slower, and the food quality was not what I had come to expect from Bando. The bulgogi, galbi, chicken, and marinated pork were all brought out together on one plate. When I asked if I could order just beef, I was told that meats cannot be selected individually. Instead, I could choose three meats that would be served in half portions. We were also told that if any of the meat was not finished, there would be an additional $10 charge per person. Another surprise was that the usual Korean BBQ accompaniments were missing. Typically, all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ includes items like steamed egg and soybean soup, but neither were provided. Lettuce for wraps was also charged separately at $4. It's unfortunate because this used to be one of my go-to Korean BBQ spots. The charcoal grill is still a great feature, but overall, the experience wasn't the same as before. Free parking is available, which at least makes visiting convenient. Sadly, it may be time for me to start looking for a new Korean BBQ restaurant.

There is no transparency for room rates here and this gives a business an opportunity to swindle you. I originally had a party of 10 people and confirmed a reservation 2 weeks ahead of the time reserved. I was told to pay $100 deposit in addition to the $100/hr rate for the room. There is no clarity if that deposit can be refunded or what the policy is on the website or readily available to customers when they are on site. I discovered that this deposit is non-refundable, which is unfortunate that I had to eat that cost. Unfortunately, my party of 10 went down to a party of 6 due to funerals, COVID, and other uncontrollable circumstances. I tried calling several times prior to the reservation (Sunday and Wednesday before the Saturday reserved time) I was told on my final call speaking with the manager that since the group had reduced to 6 people they could put us at $50/hr in the small room. However, when I showed up, I was told that we were still in the $80/hr and there was no changing that. Also, we had a lot of technical difficulties. Wireless microphone receivers were not charged, so we kept getting disconnected. We had to change mics 3x when we were there. The employees were doing their best and were as accommodating as they could be, but ultimately the management is faulty. Transparency is important and this place does not have it. Also, I was not told tip was included. I usually tip 20% because times are tough and places don't pay their employees enough, but did not get an itemized receipt before this interaction. So I tipped an additional amount without knowing.

Albeit, I admit 11 ended up coming and I would've been totally fine with the $10 fee for additional people. After paying, we discovered they had charged a WHOPPING $120/hr (more than DOUBLE). When confronted, the front desk guy lied about showing me two rooms and that I requested the room for 15-18 people. That NEVER HAPPENED and I have 3 witnesses AND the security camera caught that. He even tried to threaten showing me the security footage like, please, prove me right actually. Also, my friend told me that the guy was insulting me the whole time when I wasn't talking to him on the phone, clearly because I was not there in person (he also just hung up on me during the discussion). Even during the refund process, when we were only trying to pay the real $55/hr rate, they STILL tried to haggle saying "fee this, fee that". There are so many things I could've gotten upset about, but literally all I cared about was the promised upon rate. Was I mad about the limited discography? No. Was I mad about the undisclosed gratuity? No. I merely wanted what we were rightfully owed. Simple as that. Then, to still try to negotiate out of paying us back PLUS being heavily insulted PLUS trying to threaten me?!? What is happening?!? Overall this was an exhausting experience during a time that was supposed to be one of celebration. This place operates DISHONESTLY and WITHOUT ANY RESPECT for customers.

This is hands down the dish I look for first at any Korean restaurant, especially when the weather turns cold and you need something warming and soul restoring. Both of us landed on 1/5. Here's what we ordered: the Mega Bowl Ramen (Chashu & Shrimp) combo with Thai Tea and a Pork Bun, the Fried Squid Tentacle, and the Pork Belly Kamameshi. The ramen was salty and just didn't taste good, which was a real letdown given the crowd. The noodles came out firmer than what we're used to at places in Texas and Japan, and the chashu was the single best part of the whole bowl. The Thai Tea was a complete miss--it looked good but was overwhelmingly milky, like 85% milk, which isn't what Thai tea typically tastes like. The Pork Bun was drowning in sauce and overwhelming to eat. The Fried Squid Tentacle was the highlight of the meal, though it's comparable to what you'd find elsewhere. The Pork Belly Kamameshi was the worst item by far with a tiny amount of rice with a huge amount of sauce piled on top. We got through only about a fifth of the pan because it was too intense and far too little rice. To be fair, this spot gets a lot of love online for its broth and its novelty robot server (can be found in a lot of Japanese restaurants) so tastes clearly vary. But for the two of us, the meal was salty, oversauced, and unbalanced, and we wouldn't come back. 1/5.
